After a couple visits, I am ready to give Creek a solid 3 stars. They have a few things to work on but overall, I would come back to try more of their dishes. They have a good selection of craft beers but their wines are pretty restricted to their own Kickapoo Creek brand and then "house" wines which is not their brand but they also don't tell you what brand it is.

Their menu is hit or miss right now with lunch seeming to be the better choice over the dinner options. Lunch has a great and giant burger as well as a really delicious BBQ brisket wrap- would go back for that alone. Sandwiches come with warm, fresh made chips and some blah coleslaw. The chicken ranchero salad is very large and served with quesadillas-very filling! There is also a very disappointing chicken avocado chicken club and the iced tea looks like mud and doesn't taste much better. Dinner has petite plates for sharing but the prices are so high! Two normal appetizer sized chicken skewers (maybe one chicken breast total) on a little pile of plain rice is $16. They were tasty but I would need to have at least 4 skewers on that plate to justify $16! There is also a chicken breast dinner that comes with veggies for $16 so I don't know how they have decided that dinners and appetizers should cost the same. There are enough dinner choices that you can just avoid the "petite plates". I hope they get the hint soon enough that no one orders them because they are massively overpriced. It's just really surprising because lunch is such a good value that is not reflected in the dinner small plates. I have not ordered one of the larger meals but am hoping they are more what you expect.

I stopped by for lunch on a beautiful Saturday to eat outside. I was quickly attended to by a very nice waitress. I wasted no time and placed my order; a Gourmet Burger and a Samuel Adams. She quickly returned with my beer, followed not long after by my burger.

The burger came with homemade chips, coleslaw and pickles. The burger was delicious, very juicy and cooked just the way I asked. It comes on a peppered bun with sauteed onions, bacon, and horseradish cheese. They all blended well, adding subtle flavor to a great burger. The sides were also top quality, not just filler.

During my meal the waitress returned a couple of times to check if I needed anything; perfectly attentive without being intrusive. I finished my meal and enjoyed the sunny outdoor space for a little while longer as I finished my beer. Sadly, I matters to attend to more pressing than enjoying the sunny patio at Creek.

This place completely fucked us over. We had our wedding reception planned for here and had been given the green light for such an event. Thirty days prior to the wedding day we received an email telling us that they couldn't do our reception due to likely closing, as the owner had intentions of moving out of state. Well...it's 3 weeks after the wedding and they are still open. You guys will never get another penny from us. We had spent considerable amounts of money there prior to this sad let down. So lame.

Wow. Not worth the price. Our group was pretty laid back and enjoying our own company but the service was slow. It was almost as if they were inviting us to leave without paying the bill. Certainly smiling and friendly staff, but woul;d have been nice to see them more than taking the order and delivering the food. Also had to go inside to settle up. Not like they were busy - maybe two tables at that point.
If tapas means overpaying for a pretty plate, then I guess this is it. Apparently the silver ware is not included. Had to go the bar to claim ours, 5 minutes after being served our entrees.
We really don't expect this place to be here long so if you want to check out some "French" cuisine, you had better hurry.

I have to say this restaurant has a lot of things going for it. The staff is friendly, the food is sourced fresh and the location is awesome.
The problem is the menu. The recipe choices are a bit beyond the current kitchen expertise.
Example: the procsiotto wrapped prawns. They were huge, and quality ingredients were used, but the end result was really salty (almost inedible) prawns and the side quinoa salad was very oddly flavored and not at all appetizing.
The beef kebabs were delicious, but a little on the underdone side. It was fine with us but asking how they should be done would have been wise.
The owner needs to be tasting things in the kitchen, or hire a consultant, and not just relying on inexperienced staff to carry out recipes.
I will definitely go back in a few months.

I have eaten at The Creek about 5 times for lunch in the past 3 months and have loved the food. However the last time I went, 11-8-14, I was disappointed to see they were no longer open for lunch on Saturdays. Kind of bummed about that because my work schedule does not allow me to make it there for lunch on the days they are open. :(

Tried calling in a lunch order today and phone had been disconnected. I don't know if they are out of business completely or just lunch.

I have been here before and lunch is great. The Chicken Ranchero salad and the Avocado Chicken wrap are my favorites. I hope they are still open, but a disconnected phone doesn't usually bode well.

Great location on the Peoria riverfront. The chef was able to veganize one dish which was ravioli and mushrooms. I didn't leave feeling full but I have an insatiable appetite. That just meant more room for beer at the brewery next door...Service was good and it didn't take too long to get our dishes but we went on a Thursday night. This place is definitely worth a try!

My daughter and I dined at The Creek for our first time Monday August 19 about 5ish in the evening. When we first arrived, the main dining room was smaller than expected, but quite cozy with a decent bar. Being the only couple in the restaurant, we chose to dine outside.
The patio was quite dirty, with straws, bricks, rocks, and cobwebs scattered about. It looked as if it hadn't been swept in some time.
I ordered the cheese platter to enjoy with my house cabernet, my daughter ordered thelobster mac and cheese. The max and cheese was hot and fresh, the cheese platter also had a nice selection. I will admit, they are quite pricy for dinner.
We finished with sharing a cheese cake.
Service was not bad, but not great. The server did recommend dishes, along with drinks. A little slow if anything, but not intrusive in any way.

All in all we ordered the two entrees, cheesecake, a lemonade and 2 glasses of Cab. $55. The bulk of the bill was my wine, at a whopping $12 a glass!! Quite surprised at the bill, I paid and went on my way.
Most restaurants I dine at offer house wine at $9 a glass or less. I may try their lunch sometime, but I will definitely clarify drink prices before I order.
If not for the dirty patio and seriously expensive wine, I would rate 4-5 stars. But if you are going to charge those prices, you need to make the atmosphere a little cleaner.

My family and I went to celebrate a birthday [total in party = 6] on a Saturday night for dinner. There were only two other tables at 7:30, four other customers. The service was borderline at best. The server was very young and inexperienced. She knew very little of the menu and was not very interested in finding out (these were very basic questions). Service was also very slow - everything was unnecessarily drawn out, with at least a 45 minute lapse between ordering and food actually arriving. When asked when the entrees might be coming, she simply replied "well, some of you ordered the steaks, so that will take a while" and continued to stand and chat with the other waitress and bartender. I feel that she may be better suited for a Denny's or other comparable restaurant. When you are spending a little more on dinner, you expect a little more in service.
Now, regarding the food, it was entirely hit or miss. We ordered crab cakes and lobster mac and cheese for appetizers. Crab cakes were very good, but the lobster M&C was simply awful. The lobster "flakes" almost resembled pimientos, and the cheese sauce almost tasted like velveeta or some similar processed cheese. Also, we had to ask the waitress for a serving spoon for the M&C. For entrees, 4 of us ordered steaks, which were actually very good. They were cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. I ordered the seafood linguine in cream sauce, and my husband ordered the broiled salmon. My pasta was cut into tiny pieces! Who does that for anyone other than a 2 year old? It was quite bland, but overall not a bad dish. Again, I had to ask the waitress for a spoon for my pasta and sauce. My husband's salmon was a little sad - it was a thin, very pale (read: farm-raised) and fairly dry salmon filet. Based on the quality of service and unpredictability of the food, we likely will not be back.
