We do serve Lunch and Dinner but we are known for our fabulous desserts. Most of our items contain chocolate, of course, but we do have a couple of desserts that are non-chocolate. We also carry 3 desserts that are gluten free, and are just as tasty.

Very cute place for dessert. We ordered a flight of 5 desserts (white chocolate croissant bread pudding, raspberry rhapsody, tiramisu cheesecake, black and white cheesecake, and chocolate noir) to share among 4 adults and 4 kids, plus a key lime pie and any number of hot chocolates. The bread pudding and tiramisu cheesecake were by far the best, IMO. Loved the Mexican hot chocolate, which was nice and spicy.
Service is friendly though a bit on the slow side since there is only one server for the whole cafe. If you search online you can find a Groupon or Living Social deal ($11 for $20) and redeem it right then and there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 10940853Apr 23, 2017
Torn between a 3 and a 4 since we had some 3 food and some 4/5 food. We both ordered the mac and cheese. I would rate it a 4 for flavor, since it had some great depth and tasted like more than one cheese was used. The pasta was cooked well, too. However, the cream sauce was a bit loose and it wasn't, as my friend said, "gooey" enough. The tomato, basil, and cucumber salad was good, but I wish we had a choice of dressing.
The reason why I went with a 4 is because the desserts - that which I'm sure this restaurant is based on in the first place - were delicious. I had the German Chocolate Cake and she had the Black and White Cheesecake. She ate her whole dessert, which I haven't seen her do! My slice of cake was enormous, so I had to take some home, but I love the mix of chocolate and coconut, so I enjoyed it.
If we go back someday we may just chow down on desserts, but I could also definitely see myself trying the pizza or spinach and artichoke dip. :DHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 223177566Mar 19, 2018
I've always loved this place...like 9 years now that's I've been a customer. I wish the place was a little cozier with their seating and a bigger space would be nice cause it is pretty small. But the desserts have always been so delicious!! Also, their dessert cocktails are so worth it.

It took my coworker and I a while to figure out what dessert to get because there were so many to choose from and all sounded great! In the end I picked the Chocolate Ravioli because of the "hazelnut filling"! I should have known the ravioli would be deep fried, after all, it's a dessert! But had I figured that out, I wouldn't have ordered it. The ice cream that came with the ravioli was good though. My coworker asked for the Chocolate Creme Brulee. I had a taste, not crazy about it because it's got chocolate liquor in it, too strong for my taste. But the shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate on the side were amazing! The texture is very soft yet it doesn't crumble all over and the chocolate part was very creamy! And both desserts had very nice presentations. I just wish we hadn't spent as much time picking but went with something basic like chocolate cake!
What kicks the rating from 3 star to 4 for me is their meal offerings. I had the tomato soup with grilled cheese, the sandwich is very typical but the soup was very hearty with a beautiful reddish orange color. I would've preferred it to be sweeter than tangy but it's still one of the best tomato soups I've had. My coworker settled for Quiche of the day which was a Fluffy Spinach one, it tasted as good as it looked!
The service was very warm, we got there a little after 1pm and found plenty of seatings. The portions don't seem too small when you have a LivingSocial certificate that cut your bill in almost half!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lizbeth M.Cincinnati, OH10385231Sep 29, 2017
If dessert is what you are looking for, this place is for you! We walked in to a quaint salon with a few tables and chairs. The menu had an amazing list of desserts, including a sampler. I went for the ultimate chocolate cake and my friend did the crossing bread pudding. Both where great, but that bread pudding deserved every award given on earth to desserts. It was an orgasmic experience eating it! Seriously if you are in the area you need to try that bread pudding!

I would give 3.5 because the desert/wine/drinks selection was full of options and had something for everyone, including gluten free selections! We had a Macaroon Martini and the Bread Pudding that both hit the spot. The only reason the rating is so low is because the atmosphere for a Thursday evening was the exact opposite of what someone heading downtown would want. There was no one else in the restaurant and it was a really 'depressing' vibe with the music that was playing. The lighting was off. It just didn't seem like there was a lot of thought out into the experience outside of the food, including the decor which could use some updating if The Chocolate Cafe wants to keep up with the rest of downtown Fort Collins. It doesn't quite do the job for a romantic, quiet evening, and it certainly doesn't fit if your looking to have some drinks, laugh and mingle. A miss in both directions.

We have been here 3 times and have enjoyed it each time. Twice we had meals with dessert, but this past time we just had desserts. How delicious it was. My son really enjoys the molten lava chocolate cake. I love their ultimate chocolate cake. It is always moist with this decadent ganache for frosting. The vanilla ice cream tops off the dish making it the perfect chocolate dessert for me. oh. and did I mention how huge it is? Wow. we ended up enjoying it multiple times, since each time some of it left with us. Yum!
The apple creme brulee was softer than I am used to but still very wonderful. the cookies that come with it are also equally delicious.
They service is great...the waitress was really nice and informative .
Give it a try if you haven't yet...but just be willing to deal with getting hooked. It is great to find a place that has such a nice variety of desserts plus an option for a meal too.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ryan H.Fort Collins, CO35275543Jul 15, 2014
The desserts and food offerings are delicate and delicious. Extra care goes into each plate and the attention to detail shows in the presentation as well as in the taste of the food.
The chocolate peanut butter pie is a must try as well as the croissant bread pudding with white chocolate and raspberry.
They have great drinks as well as pizza, pastas, and lighter fare.
The location and ambiance is romantic and nice. While the actual interior is small, the service is fast and prompt. Try this place for a date or night out in Old Town.
The desserts are large and good to share.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 26, 2012
The.Best.Dessert. Restaurant.
The chocolate cafe is the best dessert restaurant in the history of fort collins. The chocolate cafe has quite the competition in Fort Collins, with the number of dessert restaurants here. Despite the competition, this restaurant is always a five star experience no matter how many times I've been here.
What I love about this restaurant is that the desserts aren't just outstanding taste wise, but the presentations of the desserts are almost so pretty you feel bad eating the dessert. I swear I take a picture of my dessert every time I come here before I eat the dessert. I would definitely recommend chocolate cafe for anyone in fort collins looking for a great date restaurant or looking for a great place to hangout with some girlfriends.
Note to self: come on an empty stomach or be ready to share!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Myt M.Fort Collins, CO379Apr 5, 2014
