10/10 would come here everyday if i lived closer. this place was close to a doctors appointment i had and thought id try it. the girl taking my order was so nice, i waited about 15 minutes for my order and the owner came up to me and introduced himself and dropped off free desserts because he felt bad i waited so long for my food. best sandwich i've ever had and nicest people i've ever talked to. everyone has to try this place

The service was good. We thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches. We had the parmesan sandwich and the steak diane. Delicious!

The food, service, ambiance and parking were all 5/5!
Will definitely be coming back. I enjoyed that they had other options for fountain drinks besides just being sodas. I for one, don't really care for sodas. They had black and green iced tea and lemonade and pink lemonade. They also sell cold brews-vanilla and mocha. The gentleman working at the register was super friendly and the cooks were all so fast and efficient.
There is plenty of parking in the back. There's only one restroom stall but they keep it clean. There's plenty of seating inside or outside. Came here after a nice hike up at Topanga scenic view. Next time you're around the area you should stop by for fresh hot or cold sandwiches and everything is always made fresh.

The service was exceptional from the moment we stepped inside. We were greeted with warm smiles and recommendations.

I was unimpressed, however, with my meal. I ordered the chicken Parm, which is a popular item on the menu and looked really good. The sauce was smooth, not too tangy and had a nice flavor to it. I believe the chicken breast though was butterflied in a way that went with the grain instead of against it, causing it to be chewy when it was coated and fried. I was able to eat about the quarter of the sandwich but the rest was inedible and very tough to bite through.

My husband ordered the Wolfgang sandwich which was a turkey sandwich with goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, and pesto that was delicious. He ordered a side of the kale pasta which he liked.

The line never ended and regulars kept coming in to grab their order, so it seems like a very hot spot for lunch in Tarzana. Five stars for service and I'd like to return and order differently next time.

Love their sandwiches and the presentation on a board. Btw they are opened on Presidents Day. Been here three times now and never not satisfied. They have cold and hot sandwiches and salads but technically all sandwiches can be turned into a salad. The sandwiches always come piping hot and their sides are also yummy!
I loved the fish and chips sandwich- yes, they jam the chips in your sandwich along with coleslaw.
The south Philly is always amazing too. Love how soft the bread is so it won't cut the roof of your mouth but also they toast it so the inside is crispy. They just do it so perfectly! I also love their tomato soup. I always get that as my side.
Also tried their chicken Alfredo sandwich and it goes SO well with their side tomato soup. Definitely coming back!

The restaurant industry can be quite challenging to assess, especially when it comes to writing negative reviews based on honest opinions. It's a delicate balance, as people's perceptions of your review can vary greatly depending on how they interpret it.

To put it succinctly, when the current owners of this restaurant were in charge, it was undoubtedly one of my favorite places to dine. However, my recent experience with their Smashburger was disappointing. It lacked flavor, American cheese was absent, and it was far from juicy. In fact, it resembled something that Uncle Joe might have cooked up on the 4th of July. It's disheartening to witness the decline of what used to be a top-notch establishment, what happened to "The Bentley" now resembling a Chrysler 300.

All of these grievances would be inconsequential and would not warrant this review if the restaurant simply employed individuals who genuinely loved their jobs and greeted customers with genuine joy. After all, we, the customers, are the lifeblood of their business. Unfortunately, our $125 lunch experience was marred by rude behavior, which is not what we desire. If we wanted to be served food by someone with a rude demeanor, we could simply visit my mother-in-law.

Anibal, I implore you to approach your job with a smile and a positive attitude. If there are any issues or concerns that may affect your performance, please address them professionally rather than projecting any additional attitude onto customers. By doing so, you will ensure that I continue to patronize this establishment.

Starting this review is a bit challenging as I find myself torn between the memories of an awesome place that has lost its wow factor. Carving Board used to be one of my favorite spots, and I had numerous amazing experiences there, especially with the Bentley. However, my recent visit left me disappointed, and I can only give it a 2-star rating due to the decline in service and ambiance.

Upon entering the restaurant with my wife, daughter, and a friend, we weren't greeted or welcomed. To our disappointment, we noticed that three tables were still dirty with leftover boards and trash from previous customers. Even the front doors were visibly dirty, clearly lacking recent cleaning.

The cashier/server appeared unhappy and didn't engage with us at all. They took our order without a single word of thanks.

Although the food we ordered was mostly good in terms of taste, the presence of fruit flies buzzing around the restaurant was not pleasant. Furthermore, when I went to get a refill, I found that the tea containers were empty, despite being full when I initially filled my drink. The lemonade machines also looked extremely dirty.

Overall, it seems evident that the management or owner's level of care has significantly declined compared to a couple of years ago when this place first opened. The service was exceptional back then, the food arrived faster and hotter, and there were no annoying flies inside. It's disheartening to witness another restaurant drop the ball. I genuinely hope they can turn things around and restore this place to its former glory!"

As far as a sandwich shop goes, it's decent. The name is a little misleading as I expected fresh carved meats, but it's deli meat. I did call ahead and was aware before ordering.

My sandwich wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting and was way to soggy. I picked up my order as soon as it was ready and ate it within 15 mins. Sadly, much to soggy in that short period of time to be acceptable.

Service was good and quick. This location was pretty empty for a Saturday night, but many seemed to be doing takeout as well.

May give it another try one day.

I was bringing my girlfriend here hyping it up so much for her because I haven't been here in so long since I moved from the area. I unknowingly got here 25 min before closing and while looking at the menu board a pushy tall guy bald guy rudely told us in an almost argumentative manner, "just so you guys know we're closing in 10 min" obviously showing an unappreciative gesture while making a hand clap. After he walked outside the girl up front said actually we close at 5, which looking at my watch I figured since it was 4:37. That guy just ruined it for me and I walked out. My girlfriend felt bad because I been literally hyping it up all day. Such a shame to have such terrible unwelcoming service from a grumpy bitter middle aged man . I literally was a walking advertisement for this place when suggesting food for people. I'll find a different sandwich spot.

You know when you eat food so good you forget about your phone ? This place will have you truly enjoying good food, good ingredients, good recipes, and have you appreciating good customer service. I've tried about 80% of the menu and recommend everything.

I Moved to Encino in 2021 and I am so glad I found this gem. I come here every chance I get. Keep up the good work fellas!
