The Carpet Mill

I read some good things about them on Facebook so when I decided the basement stairs needed carpeting I figured I'd give them a whirl. Made an appointment to take a look at samples and to discuss the project. Normally I'd just walk in but their COVID protocols required a phone call first. Made sense.

Was shown a few samples and arranged for an estimate. They charge $100 to come to the house and measure which is applied against the cost of any work they perform. They estimated someone would be out within a week and two days later there they were.

I thought the estimate was reasonable so I left a 50% deposit and was told that it would take about 4-6 weeks to receive the carpet and have it installed. Two weeks later they were here. I thought the quality of the carpet and the way it was installed was excellent. Their staff is also experienced and quite personable. The overall experience was a pleasure and I've already made the decision that I'm going to return to have them continue upstairs. Kudos.

I had a good experience with the carpet mill, they were very good with showing me options within my price range and helping with selection. After I ordered it took about 6 weeks for installation and the installation guys were nice and did a good job. Some scuffed paint where the brought the carpet up the stairs but that is somewhat expected. There was a small problem with the billing but Nick was great with calling me back and getting it resolved right away. I would recommend them.

I was getting a couple quotes for a large area of my home that I needed carpeted. I saw on Carpet Mill's website that they offer FREE in-home estimates and so I called to make an appointment. I spoke to a man named David, and wanted to verify that I could schedule a free estimate. He said "Actually, we charge you $100 and if you buy from us, we will credit that money toward your purchase." When I told him that CARPET MILL's website had FREE IN-HOME ESTIMATES as a large part of their home page, he quickly said "Oh well, I guess we would have to honor that then." Of course you would, it's your own website!

It seemed as though he was disinterested in the whole process after he found he wouldn't be making a quick $100 from the deal. He then took down my information and said, "I'll give you a call tomorrow to let you know what time we can come out to give an estimate." He never called. I, however, had a great experience with a company called Smart Carpets and they gave me professional, polite service with very reasonable prices! I would not recommend Carpet Mill, as the very little contact I had with them was extremely unprofessional.

I would stay away from this place. Very odd when you walk in - older guys sitting at desks staring at you and then salesman comes over to quiz you about what you want- can I just LOOK? Maybe I need to see something I like first? Didn't seem comfortable with that. Very against the grain conversation and aggravating. They came out and quoted for $100 - MUCH higher than Home Depot. I was surprised but happy in the end I went in another direction.

We had lvp planks installed a few months ago. The workers were fast and clean. I shopped around before going to Bay carpet and out of five other places Bay carpet offered me the best price. In addition I ask Bay carpet to move blinds that I had purchased from Empire to my new apartment in the same building because Empire refuse to do it. The person who came to move the blinds spent longer than we all thought since it was a more difficult job than anticipated. He was efficient and very polite. My experience with Bay carpet was Pleasant and I am very happy with the work. I am giving Bay carpet 5 stars and do not anticipate anything going wrong with the floors. However, if anything does go wrong within a reasonable amount of time I would expect that they back up their work.

The best of the best. We shopped around to 10 or more carpeting stores. The selection and quality is the best, hours are very convenient and, best of all, the customer service is outstanding. Helpful and not pushy sales assistance, very knowledgeable, patient (we actually changed the carpeting with no problem after we had placed the order and they had already come to measure), and honest advice - even when it decreased their total sales. The installation team was hard-working and meticulous. Not a single scratch on our newly painted walls. They took apart and moved furniture without any issues and even moved furniture back into the room they hadn't moved out. When the old carpeting was taken outside - they even brought our trash can back from the curb to the house. I highly recommend. Total quality establishment with a mom and pop feel.

I have been shopping from Carpet Mill for five years. I've done 4 redecorations of my apartment and 1 of my mother's.
Popped in 3 weeks ago for a runner. I wanted something custom and a little higher end. I took photos of all that I was interested in and was approached by Caroline. I showed her the four carpets of interest, 1 was $700 because of the pile and the custom length of my hallway. The others she Said she needed to call the manufacturer about&would get back to me. Thread weeks it's been and no call. Last week I went on their website and wrote the company about the lack of response. No response.
I ordered several rugs from overstock because I need a rug and I'll be returning all because they were just not that great.
This morning I call Carpet Mill and the manager, Nick, says her never got an online correspondence and he would have someone call me back. Caroline calls me back and after I explain my order she says she has no idea who I am.

I've used this company twice in the last year. Selection is very good, the guys who work there are very helpful, and the installers were pleasant, professional, and tidy. One of my jobs was urgent, and they were able to help me right away with ordering and installation.
I have dealt with David, Nick, and Frank and find them to be helpful and prompt in getting back to me via phone and email.
Certainly recommended.
