The Capital YELP Elite Event!

I've never been to the Capital Grill before and it felt like a scene straight from Mad Men! I felt like I should be drinking whiskey straight while dining. Instead I got to sip on their amazing Stoli drink, a tasty one with mint in it and my absolutely favorite was the one was the raspberry! I could have drank a million of those little guys! They were just delicious!

The first thing I saw when I walked in the room was the AWESOME Yelp ice sculpture! It was super cool! How does that thing stay cold and not melt is my question!?

My friend grabbed some shrimp right away and we snagged a booth. My favorite part about this event was having the servers bring all the food and drinks right to us! Awesome table service, thank you!

My favorite food item of the night was the BLT. I'm a huge bacon enthusiast and this was one super tasty little BLT. I loved it so much I had three, glutton that I am. I also loved the sliders! The food was just scrumptious! Had to skip the lobster rolls & shrimp due to a shellfish allergy. Wah wah.

Capital Grill did us Elites so good with the chef demonstration, tours of the place, goodie bags with nice swag, and a prize for 6 to dine for lunch! Wow! I'm jealous of the guy who won!

Best YEE I've been to in terms of food.

My gf and I showed up about 10 after, and there were already quite a few people there already. We got seats at the bar and tried a little bit of everything.

Good, definitely one of the best sliders I've ever had. It was essentially a mini filet inside two buns.

Good. Bun stuffed with lobster salad.

Yummy. Love fresh truffle fries, and these were large, fresh, and hot.

Quite good. Very smooth, and mushroom wasn't overpowering.

5. Miniature "Knife and Fork" BLTs
Pretty good, though we didn't have knives or forks.

okay. Shrimp was good, but I didn't like the mustard vinaigrette too much.

7. Signature Stoli Doli
Yummy. Can't remember what was in it exactly, but it came with a raspberry :)

8. grapefruit soda
Really good. I was hooked after drinking a small glass. Another tall glass was a bit too much though.

The manager Paul gave us a tour of the restaurant, which was nice. The executive chef also gave us a demo of two of their steak rubs http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cQaTWY70REX0zjUaH_kxJA?select=12dcEB3aBqBrVaNHFQE87Q, and we all tried some samples. They were very good.

our goodie bags came with a free appetizer coupon, two Lindt chocolates, and the two rubs that they demoed.

Being one of the lucky ones to attend this event I can't rave enough about what a fantastic job Jelena and team did, but can't forget to give a standing ovation to the Capital Grille Team.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Linda, Sales/Marketing Manager and of course our lovely Yelp ladies. After checking in the Yelp ice sculpture caught my eye and of course the beautiful display of cocktail shrimp. Great job on the sculpture esp. getting the red in it so Yelp is vividly displayed.

Opted to sit at the bar and so glad we did. The two bartenders gave us impeccable service. Drinks constantly refilled and when we walked away to take the tour of the restaurant upon returning we had glasses filled with water/beer waiting for us. Awesome.

Lobster bowl was generously filled with a lobster mix inside a toasted bread. Delicious. Sirloin sliders with a mushroom sauce was cook to my heart's content. Medium rare. Truffle fries other fries envy you. Crispy and easily a favorite. Shrimp cocktail. Jumbo size enough said. BLT what a classic. Hmmm bacon. Mushroom bisque for you mushroom lovers like me.

Executive chef demonstration of their Kona and Porcini Rub was a great idea. Always thought to dip the steak in a olive oil or butter first, but no need for the Kona rub. Dipping the Porcini in olive oil before and after the rub never occurred to me. Thank you for the demonstration or else I would of done these rubs injustice. The tasters of each steak was a teaser. Both were extremely delicious and perfectly cooked.

The courtesy shown by the staff of Capital Grille was amazing. Nice touch with the gift bags with free rubs and chocolates. Fantastic event.

P.s. I'll be going back in November for a work event ;) awesome to know what I'll be coming into.

What better way to spend a dreary Sunday than at the Capital Grille? It was especially nice when I was greeted with a serving of truffle fries. The grapefruit cocktail was also as delicious...until I tried The Bohemian, which was even better. The ice sculpture of the Yelp logo by the jumbo shrimps was pretty *cool*

The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, making sure we were well fed and comfortable. I enjoyed the tour of the restaurant and the chef demonstration of how to rub meat.

We also got a gift bag full of treats (including chocolates and packets of rub). The rub smells so good, I want to just put it under my pillow.

Wow! What a great place! What a fantastic event!

Food and drinks aplenty. Servers were fantastic, great attitudes, completely professional, knowledgeable about food, drinks and the restaurant.

So many drinks.....the Stoli Doli, the champagne with fruit, the homemade grapefruit soda, and wine, glorious wine. So nice to be able to try them all.

The food...so much food! The lobster roll was amazing, such a generous portion and a fantastic brioche. The tenderloin sandwich was flavorful and filling. I loved the jumbo shrimp. And truffle fries - what can I say but wow!

I really liked the chef's demonstration. I have never really known what to do with a rub, I will be trying his technique soon.

Nadeau's ice sculptures impressed, as always, this time with the Yelp symbol carved out of ice and dyed red.

I was invited as a Plus one to this event and said, sure. What I should have said was Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Drinks, lobster rolls, tenderloin sandwiches, blt's and shrimp which just kept on coming. And coming. I was turning down tenderloin sandwiches. yes, turning down tenderloin because I was so full.

Capital Grill and Jelena you filled me up, entertained me and kept me from seeing my Denver Broncos humiliate themselves. Can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon, way better than football. Thanks for the good food, impeccable service, good time and new restaurant to add to our play book.

What a classy shindig, I was glad I had worn my Sunday duds! Even checking in was dignified and Linda was right there to welcome us. I am in awe when I see people who love their jobs and do them at such a high level, she was the consummate professional.

Right as I signed in, I was in heaven. Free chap stick? Only my crack! It was great to see Candace (sans bbq ribs this time.) I got to say Hi to her and Jelena and I was probably too awestruck to thank them properly. Thanks so much for including me in this gala event! Next thing I knew a generous gentleman was offering me a berry champagne cocktail. Yes, this is just like my real life at home!

My plus one and I were then treated so royally, heck, we could get used to this. We knew another couple at the event who had scored a table NEAR THE SHRIMP so we just settled in for a delicious time. Tenderloin sandwich on brioche? Yes, please. Lobster roll? BLT? Grapefruit cocktail? I must have fallen between the space/time continuum and be in an alternate universe. Don't make me go home!

Besides tastes of mouthwatering goodness I got to meet Catherine P. and Dana G., friends of mine on Yelp. (Hi! Sorry I didn't chat with you more!) I loved hearing the manager speak, the tour and the lesson from the chef. You can see why this place is so superb - it starts from the top! And we got a swag bag? This was just an over the top event. Thanks for inviting me and treating me with such style and grace.

Now, I need to immediately plan a return trip.

Yelp does it again with another fabulous elite event!

The staff definitely went above and beyond for us. They were very attentive and caring. The manager, Paul, was friendly and very informative while giving us a tour of the restaurant. He even showed us their $3000 bottle of wine. Who knew that there's more to Capital Grille than meets the eye.

The food: Miniature Tenderloin Sandwiches with Wild Mushrooms and Boursin Cheese, Lobster Rolls, Parmesan Truffle Fries, Porcini Bisque samplers, Miniature BLTs and Chilled Shrimp with Ginger and Mustard Vinaigrette. The head Chef came out and showed us some tricks of the trade and we sampled steak with two of their rubs. Lemme tell ya, the Kona Coffee crusted steak was AMAZING!!! It was not something that I would have every thought to order.

They had samples of their signature drink, Stoli Doli, and a delicious grapefruit soda. I'm not sure if they didn't have fountain drinks cause all of the soda's came in miniature glass bottles. They even had Fiji water.

From the delicious food and drinks to the Yelp ice sculpture, this was a great event.

Capital Grille staff was super friendly, as per usual. We were offererd drinks as soon as we walked in - they had me at, "would you like to try a stoli doli?"

So much amazing food was circling around that I didn't know where to start. My BFF and fellow yelp elite, Stephanie, first took advantage of the shrimp cocktail on the ice luge - so cool! I am not a fish person, but I loved the presentation.

The first thing I ate was the mini BLT on multigrain toast- bite sized perfection! What the heck was that magical sauce on it? I know it wasn't just mayo... amazing!!

Second was the most delicious filet slider that I've EVER had- toasted brioche, Boursin cheese, sautéed mushrooms, buttery & perfectly seasoned tenderloin- this was seriously serious. When paired with the truffle fries, it was a great big party. When more sliders came around, I was upset that I was too full to indulge in another.

We really enjoyed the chef demonstration - love learning new things about cooking! The best part? Getting to try the steaks the executive chef demo-ed! The kona crusted sirloin was amazing- I've never had kona crusted anything, so it was great to try something new. It had a nice nutty flavor to it. The porcini rubbed delmonico - OMG. The steak literally melted in my mouth. The flavor was insane. Best. Steak. Ever.

The drinks were also delicious- my favorite was The Bohemian - Absolut APeach with mixed berry cordial and champagne - just the right amout of sweet and fruity!

This was my first elite event and it didn't disappoint!

The food was divine, the staff was tremendous and the grapefruit soda is my new addiction.

I brought my husband as my plus one and we both enjoyed ourselves. The beef tenderloin sandwiches were my favorite. The meat was super tender and the Boursin cheese melted perfectly. His fave was the BLT.

I can't wait to go back. The idea of small plates and a lunch menu really appeal to me and since everything we tried was so good, I bet the rest is too!
