Cuban Sandwich is made with the proper ingredients & good quality nice value for it size at $8.99 (which I guess includes small FF side?) What I had ordered was a Side dish of black beans & rice. (Not FF) (I guess no substitutions ? ) additional cost for white rice & black beans $7.00.
Service was quick & efficient, but not accurate or clear. (Language Barriers ?)
Ambiance was clean, but place was empty at dinner time.
Music oddly was retro English pop
No tap water available, only water bottle $1.50, No fountain sodas, so No refill soda options

We first heard how good this place was in an article in the local paper about great and cheap spots in Hollywood and Dania. We love Cuban so we made the drive and were already talking about going back before we were done with dinner. This place is wonderful. Spotless inside, really nice staff and big, delicious portions. I had fried chicken chunks and my husband had beef Vaca Frita. With a couple beers, deserts and coffee and tip the whole bill was just over $40. The traditional grilled buttered bread was complimentary. We took home enough for leftovers dinner the next night. Excellent, every bite.
      Five stars!

In on a Thursday at 5.
      Trying something different.
      ORDERED:
Carne asada (Flap steak, or flap meat
is a beef steak cut from the obliquus internus
abdominis muscle of the bottom sirloin.
It is generally very thin, fibrous and chewy,
but flavorful, and often confused with
both skirt steak and hanger steak)
cooked medium with Moros Rice. $14.99
The last time I had this it was tough
but I had to give it another try.
It was cooked just right and was not to chewy.
Since the tenderness is not consistent,
I probably would not order it again.

      Carne Asada $14.99
 VERY TOUGH

Would I recommend? Yes, yes, and yes. I've lived in Hollywood for over 28 years and this little tiny building didn't seem appealing enough for me to ever stop by. My son went to a barber in the area who recommended it and oh my goodness, this is my new favorite spot for the best Latin food. Honestly, it felt like you were visiting friends because they gave plenty of food and the cost was just right. Everything was delicious and tasty. Like I said it is an older building. You could tell it's been there for well over 30 years, nothing fancy on the inside, but the staff was awesome and their English was limited. They did try very hard to speak to us and understand us all I mentioned that because I've been to several Latin restaurants where they seem to get upset when we do not speak any Spanish I will definitely be getting food from here again and again, they did not disappoint and like I said it's like a little hole in the wall, but it's on the corner. There's ample parking. The staff is great and don't drive too fast or you might miss it.

Quick & friendly service, good food & not crazy expensive. $2 empanada de carne, $8.99 almuerzo especial bistec de pallormina, $3 o $3.5 cerveza, con agua de mineral (Perrier) para $3 más.

The hot sauce was good, not face melting hot, but good flavor. Steak was a little tough, but it was well seasoned. The empanada was good, clearly it was either fried or baked, not nuked in the microwave.

I appreciated the opportunity to use my Spanish since I just got back from Guatemala after living abroad most of the last 16 months. I got maybe one question in English which actually felt odd at the end jajajajajaja

      Gotta hydrate kiddos!!

Drove by and had to pull a uie because anyplace that looks like it's been there for 50 years has to be good, and it was. We had just gotten off a cruise, and we're heading back to Tampa but had to compare cuban food. We had the pork and a cuban. Maybe not as perfect as my favorite cuban restaurant in deland, Chicas but close. Go here if you can.

The food is great and service could be better. Great price and decent portions. If you enjoy breaded steak and breaded chicken you won't be disappoint.
