This guy should get six stars.
Brought in my Schwinn Varsity to get the rear wheel repaired. He could have replaced it for $45, but instead he replaced a few of the spokes, tightened up the hub, put in new lining, replaced the tube, trued it, and tightened up some other stuff here and there. $30. Dropped it off Saturday around 4pm and it was done Sunday at 6. Even offered me a beer while I waited for them to replace the tube.

No need to go to Bike Attack. Will be bringing my bikes back here for all repairs necessary.

Lance, The Bicycle Whisperer- Good OG Venice dude who has been looking out for our community for decades! I've bought bikes from him and gotten bike service as well as recommended him to many people who also turned out to be satisfied customers. He does a great job and prices are fair. I recommend him to anyone looking for an adult or kids bike...or even just service for their bike. He's trustworthy staple in our community!

I'm joining the chorus of voices thanking Lance and his team for their kindness and honesty! I have an old Specialized bike that I left on a patio for too long, and it had rust on it. It seemed in good shape (and I didn't have the budget for a new bike), so I wanted to see if I could get it fixed up to ride again. I took it to one shop, and had the usual experience of a woman at a Westside bike shop - a man was condescending to me, laughed at me for considering fixing my bike, told me it was rusted beyond repair, and promptly tried to sell me an $800 bike.

I decided to try Lance at The Bicycle Whisperer, and what do you know - he and his teammate Danny were just NICE. They didn't laugh at me, didn't upsell me, and instead just walked me through what I'd need (new brakes, a new tire tube, and a tune-up). For about $150, my bike looks and rides like it's brand new! I'm not sure where else you can find this kind of honest, fair, and kind bike repair on the Westside. Try Lance and his team - I don't think you'll be disappointed.

arrived with a broken derailleur. bike spent 12 days sitting around waiting for the part that hadn't arrived yet because it's a "special part," so when i was able to order AND receive part myself in 24 hours, i picked up my bike - now without a chain.

when i called for updates i received comments like "yeah, the bike isn't ready. we'll call you when it is. yeah, the the part still hasn't arrived; we're not just keeping your bike for fun."

as someone that works in the area, the lack of kind customer service is not appreciated. i will not be recommending this business to anyone.

Lance was the best, had such a bad experience at another local bike store headed over the the whisperer, bought two bikes, super stylist at a reasonable cost. I couldn't fit both in my truck so he took one in his and brought it to my apartment.
Such a relief to deal with nice people!

All I can say is my partner got his bike back and get as happy as a kid lol. Great services, the price is not super cheap but they know what they're doing!
