I've been here many times and have tried several different things. From the pre-made dishes to the sandwiches and noodle soups...it's all really delicious and economical. My favs are the grilled pork banh mi, grilled chicken banh mi, spring rolls, egg rolls, bun rieu, banh Xeo, and Bo Kho.
I think they blacked out all the prices on their menu because they keep having to increase them to keep up with inflation while their menu items have stayed the same all these years. As of this post on 4/7/24, a Banh Mi is $8. I'm pretty sure it will increase soon. So go get yourself a delicious banh mi on your next lunch break!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 26, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
TL;DR:
- a hole-in-the-wall establishment with authentically made and modestly salted dishes. soups are a hit or miss but overall it's a great place to stop by for homey Vietnamese food on a dime.
parking:
- a small parking lot but it's more of a take-out spot so parking spots quickly open up.
wait time:
- about 5 minutes.
ambiance:
- a hole-in-the-wall establishment that services your usual Vietnamese dishes and treats.
food:
[Worth It]
- ca kho: perfectly salted! would get this again if in the area.
- beef stew: came with carrots, tendon, and beef! very hearty and filling.
- baguettes: freshly made and a steal of a price.
- pickled carrots and radish (dua mon): these are traditionally made to be eaten with the banh tet. this by far was one of the best dua mons I've ever tasted! And it comes with a glass mason jar too.
- stir-fried tofu: well-marinated and tasty.
- stir-fried bamboo shoots: not overly marinated as you can taste the fresh bamboo shoot.
- stir-fried chayote: crunchy and made for a great side.
- chicken drumsticks: well marinated and cooked! definitely one of my favorite dishes here so far!
[Good to Try Once]
- canh chua: a bit too bland but great if you're just looking for a side soup for a stronger meal.
- banh tet: sadly I've had better as the meat here was minimal and dry.
- thinly sliced thit kho: this was dry but well marinatedHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 9, 2024Previous reviewTL;DR:

Good place for a quick lunch. Bahn mi is pretty big. I got the grilled pork with an egg. Pork is flavorful and the egg is so worth adding. Bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Also got a coffee, which was nice and strong. I've never tried the nem bo (raw beef) before so i got a tray to try and they're oddly addicting. I think it's the fish sauce flavor. Got a tray of the spring rolls as well and the peanut sauce is really good and got a nice spice kick, but the wrapper was a little hard. Still good though.
There are no prices on anything and 5 items came out to $42. They take card though.
Overall, decent place to grab and go.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jan 17, 2024
Huge delicious viet sandwiches for about $8 each! There is also a wide array of hot foods available for combo plates and prepackaged meals arranged on display throughout the restaurant. It's honestly so difficult not to grab everything when you see it and you're starving. The service is fast and there's plenty of free seating inside if you would like to eat there.
I always get the ham and steamed pork with pate here and it does not disappoint. The pate is so savory and goes perfectly with the meats and pickled veggies. I also like that the bread isn't crunchy like other banh mi places to the point where the roof of my mouth is destroyed afterwards. Be careful of the jalapeños because they are randomly extremely spicy so I usually end up taking them out. Like playing jalapeño roulette.
The only complaint I have is that the meat and toppings aren't evenly distributed through the sandwich. Part of the sandwich always has a majority of the meat or no pickled veggies or no pate. Wish they put a little more effort into this so it could be the perfect bite for every bite.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 29, 2023Updated review
I've never been shy when it came down to voicing my dislike for Thanh Huong. No matter how many times I've attempted to give the business the benefit of the doubt, I am repeatedly reminded of my poor decision whenever it came to purchasing Vietnamese sandwiches here. While I have no clue as to "when" and "why" TH decided to make changes, I am absolutely ecstatic by the improvement in quality and taste.
The last 2 visits have been greatly enjoyed but that didn't mean my skepticism disappeared. I held back from updating my previous 1 star review due to that specific reasoning. I reasoned the delicious sandwiches were simply due to luck. This most recent visit has sealed the deal and has officially converted me into being a fan!!
Forreal, Forreal- I never thought I'd say that!!
As of now, my one and only go-to Banh mi is ba chi [pork belly]. Every purchase has been thoroughly enjoyed and at times, I've lucked out with the baguettes being pretty loaded!! The meat is tender and the infamous pink layer of skin is nice and chewy- exactly what I look for when it comes to well cooked ba chi.
4/5 stars. One day I'll venture out and sample different offerings but for now, why fix something that isn't broke??!! Extra points because TH's nem chua [cured pork or beef] is absolutely delicious.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Apr 15, 2022Previous reviewI can't remember the last time I came to Thanh Huong for a banh mi but because my sh*tty dinner @ a neighboring business left me unsatisfied and still hungry, I decided to make a random stop.
My purchases included:
-Che Thai [Vietnamese Fruit Cocktail Dessert]
-Banh Mi Thit Nguoi [Vietnamese Ham w/ Pate]
-Strawberry Yan Yan
Vietnamese dessert was delicious- creamy, sweet, and very satisfying. While the banh mi was the worst Vietnamese sandwich i have ever had. The bread tasted old, stale, and was too hard. I honestly should have read my past review before deciding on this visit.
TH's only saving grace seems to be the che & their fresh cha lua [pork roll]. How disappointing.Feb 2, 2017Previous reviewThis pLace used to dish out some pretty amazing Vietnamese banh mi but I've found myseLf Leaving here very disappointed with the Last two visits.
The baguettes seem to be semi staLe and they super skimp on the meat ingredients. Sandwiches come jam packed with ciLantro and pickLed veggies.
The pre-packaged meaLs Look Like they've been sitting out FOREVER so spare yourseLf a bad tummy ache and just pass.
Two stars because the pork Loaf here is deLish whether you're into the cook or the uncooked version (used for soups and other dishes).

I love coming here for a quick bite! I've been coming here for years. My Mom used to love coming for their fresh baguettes. I LOVE their Banh Cuon- it comes already packaged. My hubby comes here for the Vietnamese sandwiches- he loves that the baguettes are always fresh! They've got so many other snacks and desserts -- I really can't name them all because I don't know them all (I'm not Vietnamese, sorry). As you enter into this establishment, to the left is various cooked food dishes. I imagine this is considered fast food:) it's not a place to sit down and hang out, although there a few tables for you to eat and go. Never had any issues with customer service- they ask what you want and they ring it up! Nothing complicated. I did want to mention that they take credit cards now. For the longest time, they didn't accept credit cards, but now they do! I'll be back. I always get a craving for their snacks!

Was craving bahn mi for lunch and decided to try Thanh Huong! I got the grilled pork, which was filled with a lot of meat! The pork was juicy, tender, and flavorful. The baguette was very warm, fluffy yet crispy; it tasted very fresh imo! I also got an iced coffee, which tasted alright to me. It wasn't bad at all, but I was expecting it to taste stronger and more concentrated. My total came out to be a little under $15 for the banh mi and iced coffee. The service was extremely quick! There definitely was a language barrier though, because the lady didnt seem to understand some of the things I was saying, but the food was good. The store is located in a tiny plaza with some parking available. The store itself is pretty spacious with seats to dine in. They also offer a wide variety of foods and prepackaged foods, which I will definitely try next time. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and enjoyed my meal.

I walked in with my eyeballs popping out to the left, then to the right, then to the left again! I was in food heaven! So many wonderful items to try, eat and experience... The decision making is real! Because I bounced from banh mi to hot foods to prepackaged food.
I ended up buying the rice noodles, banh cuon. Then the owner told us about their awesome Vietnamese coffee, so, I ordered that too. Then my friend said we should order banh mi to go, so, I ordered that as well! The banh cuon was great! The banh mi bread was more sweeter than I'm used to but it was a BIG sandwich. Not my favorite banh mi though.
Overall, this is a great gem for fast take out Vietnamese food. I will be back!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - 11416484434Jan 23, 2024Updated review
Finally got to try their noodle soups. We ordered bbh, bun rieu, and hu tieu to go. We wanted the dry version style for the hu tieu. But they don't do it. Bbh was bland. Bun rieu and hu tieu were better. All of them weren't too salty. The portion is like a regular size. We were able to portion each noodle soup into two bowls. Also tried their nem bo. It was really good with the Vietnamese coriander. But the portion seemed smaller than the nem heo. Nevertheless, still good. Both were priced at $11 so the pork is more worth it. I saw they also sold party trays of banh cuon. Some bun with grilled meats, Viet spring rolls, etc.
Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0Dec 11, 2023Previous reviewThe banh mi bread isn't flakey compared to other places. But the toppings are good and they put a lot of pate. The nem heo is good for $12. They also sell nem bo. We also like their ready to eat foods in the cooked foods station. Some items we tried: fish (too sweet), pork belly with egg, pickled mustard greens soup (sometimes very salty), pork (salty), fried tofu, green beans. I saw they also sell mango or papaya salad with beef jerky. They have a private parking lot.

I gotta say, some of the best and most authentic foods do come from hole-in-the-wall establishments. Thanh Huong delivers with you want some authentic Vietnamese food. From plates to sandwiches, to even sriracha, Thanh Huong will most likely satisfy some of your cravings--at the minimum.
Located right next to Pho Kim, it's not in the same lot though--no car access if you park in either lot trying to access the other location. That said, there is plenty of parking in the private lot.
Walking into Thanh Huong, it looks like two separate vendors in a food court--I don't know if it is separate or not. With some seating available and a food court atmosphere, you can dine in the store or you can take your food with you. I think most take their food to-go.
They have servers for their respective locations and they're just fairly stoic. They're not friendly, but they're not mean. They're just there to take your order, make your food, or serve you.
My wife and I came for the Vietnamese Sandwiches (all are $8 each) and a spring roll (also $8). They were well made and really hit that spot. I also saw a bunch of sriracha bottles! We didn't try any plates but we definitely want to come back to try more options.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0
