Cockroaches! The waitress brought our soup and out scurried a cockroach! Our dinner guest jumped and screamed. The staff did not apologize, they did not offer us a complimentary dish, they did not offer us a discount. They ignored the problem as if it was normal. We will no longer be going here nor will we recommend Thai Time to our friends. Don't go here unless you want cockroaches with your dinner served by unprofessional staff. If I could give them no stars, I would.

This place is very interesting. The interior decor is different, a bit on the dark side (as in lighting). I really liked the food here. It was well flavored and fresh. The dishes were a little bit on the small side and I found their prices to be above average for Thai food. It was very easy to get a table. We had to flag down or serve a couple of times for service. Street parking was easy to find. Overall, it was pretty good, I would come back again.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Mar 14, 2008
Came here for a business lunch the other day with my colleagues. When I first entered the restaurant, I noticed a bar (um???) which I thought was a little weird.
The carpet inside the restaurant had a very nice underpad which I thought was very worthy to note.
I ordered a Pad Ki Mao Chicken which I thought was decent. The interior decor was 3 stars since we did have a cloth napkin.
The service was typical Asian, about 2.5 stars.
Price for my Pad Ki Mao was $9.95...definitely not on the cheap side.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jonathan A.Wilton Manors, FL41468128Aug 1, 2015
We've only been here maybe four times in the last two years because we live in Florida half the year. Even though we're not exactly regulars and our visits are months and months apart Toomy, the lady who runs things here, always remembers our faces and what we ordered when we were here last. And no, we don't always order the same thing. Pretty amazing service!
The only reason why I didn't give five stars is because even though their food is quite good, I have had better Thai food elsewhere. However, this is is our favorite Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. You must try this restaurant.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 300500402Apr 6, 2011
So... Yelp keeps prompting me to do my review of Thai Time and a few weeks ago I KNEW beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'd give a 5 Star review. This was my first taste of Thai food when I moved to California 13 years ago from Indiana. It was also the first place I wanted to take Zak to eat when we moved to the Peninsula from San Jose last year.
We have been here a few times and I love their food. My favorite part about it is the ambiance when you dine in! The ladies are all so genuine and kind. I felt the urge to bow to them to say thank you just the way I learned to do so in Thailand!
Sad to say... I will need some sort of major gesture or info from a Health Dept or something to go back now. Last week when I was there waiting for my order to go... sitting at the bar... I noticed something out of the corner of my eye on the bar. A redish orange tiny roach looking creature with antennae and the shiny back... skeedaddling towards me!
I jumped up and GASPED... it kept crawling my way. I grabbed a napkin and crunched it and immediately looked around for someone. The sweet lady folding napkins at a nearby table looked at me and said "animal?" and I said "Yes! A roach i think."
She just nodded and I folded the napkin up and scooted it aside. I thought about walking out and not getting my food. Ididn't want to be rude. But what do I do? I get my food... Thought about throwing it away.
then I thought... I eat here often and I havent gotten sick. Maybe it was isolated? I ate my food. YUMMY! After dinner I told Zak what happened (yah, I waited til after) and we concluded that it was good while it lasted, but perhaps wait a little for them to take care of the bug issue. ?? Is there a public health dept report site? There should be. I love this place. I'm sad.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Feb 22, 2010
Use to come here quite often for lunch. My faves are the following:
- yellow curry chicken
- chicken larb (ask for it grounded)
- chicken pad graw pro (asked for it grounded)
- beef pra ram
- beef pad see ew
And ALL were good in my book! The staff were always friendly, service was fine, and the food was of good quality.
But the best dish EVER that this restaurant serves is the THAI PANCAKE!!! HOLY MOLY! If you haven't tried this dessert, it's a must have!!
Thai Time - I heart your pancake!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sep 16, 2009
Being somewhat of a Thai fanatic, I was looking forward to the very endorsed visit here. NIce entry, although I don't recall too many authentic Thai restaurants having a bar with the game on as you enter (but hey, maybe it's Thai fusion (isn't that the phrase for "we're kinda sorta like the real thing?")).
Good service, cold Singha's, and a reasonably authentic chicken satay. VERY authentic yellow chicken curry, other than the complete lack of spice (other than shaking red/yellow pepper flakes over the curry...again, didn't see that a lot anywhere in Thailand) Downside of said curry was that ALL the chicken was huge clumps of dark meat.
Wife had red curry...VERY strange aftertaste - she liked it, I very much did not.
Overall, just a touched overpriced given the local competition, without any real competitive advantage.
Would I go again? Well, if someone was paying for it. Otherwise? Probably not.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jul 27, 2011
The interior looks like a lot of other Thai places in the RWC area, and it does have very nice service. The waitress was nice if not a bit too weird.
However, the food is definitely hit or miss. We had the chicken satay, where the chicken is tender and succulent, but neither the peanut sauce nor the cucumbers on the side was that great. This would've warranted 3 stars though, but I really just didn't like my pad see ew.
First off, the noodles tasted fishy. Fish sauce gone wrong? They served both broccoli and Chinese broccoli with it, but the broccoli was kinda of inedibly raw (was expected them to be blanched at least). The whole dish was a mess, the beef tough, the egg tastes like..chicken? and the noodles overly sweet. I can reliably make a noodle dish better than this.
Also, the food is a bit pricier than the other Thai places. It's on par with Sweet Basil but that place has better food in general. An appetizer of chicken satay is $9.95, as was my skimpy pad see ew. I don't mind paying for good, expensive food, but I didn't feel like this was worth the price.
In order to judge a place fairly, I really should come here more often and try more of their hit or miss dishes. However, there are quite a few other more consistent Thai places around here, so I don't really feel like I would come here again unless someone else suggests it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 25, 2013
Believe it or not, it's always been hard for me to find a good Thai place in the Bay Area. Most of the places I've gone to are bland and have teeny tiny portions, but thankfully that's not the case at Thai Time.
For one, whouldathunk they'd make me crave tofu? Their curry is great as well, and they even have a bar with German flags and beers for some odd reason.
I just wish they'd kick up the heat a little bit. When I think of thai food, I think of a mouth-searing good time. There was some kick in my curry, but not enough to make me beg for gallons of water.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jem G.Flower Mound, TX193196875Mar 29, 2015
Finally, they were open during our visit. Friendly service but food is just kinda okay. A little bit pricey than as usual and serving is small. Parking at the back of the restaurant. Again, staff are very friendly and maybe they will get to know you. Too bad I don't live in this area. So, the likeliness of coming back is not sure. But I was able to have a taste of Thai time.

Everything was deeeelicious! I cannot wait to come back!
The server that has been there for 13 or 14 years, I forget her name, was a riot and supper attentive to our needs. She didn't even write down our order, and got everything right, and we ordered A LOT!
Again, I look forward to eating here again. I'm already craving the yellow curry! MmmmHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
