My girlfriend and I were out for something new and wanted some sort of Asian food and happened along this place. We weren't sure at first because it was empty. Don't be fooled as soon as we ordered people were milling in and out of the place the whole time we were there. The food was great. My only gripe if any was that I asked if he had mild curry and he said it was. Either a communication barrier or he misunderstood me, but that curry knocked my socks off lol. I enjoyed the food and the managers were very friendly and from my home state of WA when the immigrated. My little gripe wasn't enough to take a start away - try this little place out - they are sweet and the food was worth it! Had the Curry/Teriyaki Bento and I loved it.

Five stars for the Teriyaki Kitchen that was there for 20+ years. The original owners sold the restaurant several months ago-- we happened to stop in for dinner while the OG owners/proprietors were happily signing the paperwork-- to a third party who immediately changed the menu offerings: no more crab puffs, for one, and he got rid of the multi-size bowls. Okay. That's fine. Dinner was good. A little different than we were used to, but good.
So then like two weeks later, we go again. Closed. No sign on the door, no indication the place is being remodeled, just closed. Huh. So a few weeks after that, I called: no answer and no voicemail. It's been months now and it still appears to be closed with no notice or indication that there'll be a reopening.
My husband and I can't figure it out. Why go to the trouble and expense of buying a restaurant only to shut it down literally weeks later? I hope the OG owners aren't on the hook for a lease or anything. Too strange. RIP Teriyaki Kitchen and your thousand plants and wind chimes and chili oil. We'll miss you.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - 1184931580Oct 13, 2022
A friend recommended that I try this place. So I met someone here for a late lunch on a weekday and decided to dine in since I had some time to kill before my next meeting. When you walk inside, there is plants everywhere, floor, tables, wall, all ove. Different, but kind of serene. However, There was a very odd, pungent odor when i walked in, kind of like sewage mixed with cleaning chemicals. I ordered the small teriyaki bowl and a bottle of water. The bowl Came with chicken, teriyaki sauce, white rice. I sat down to eat, and the chicken had a burnt taste, Not a charbroil taste, but actually burnt. I only had two spoonfuls before I just decided to not eat anymore. My friend and I sat there and talked for about 30 until I started coughing and decided to leave for fresh air. Upon leaving, I had a burning sensation in my nose that lasted for an additional 30 minutes after I left.

I called in a pick up order. The woman who answered the phone took my order. I tried to give a credit card to pay. She told me they don't take credit card information over the phone but make sure that the person picking up to order has the card info and they can pay. When my party picking up tried to pay, TK would not accept the payment. Bogus! Super inconvenient for my Mother in Law who was doing us a solid for picking up because she lived very close. Food was...ok.

The portions are large and more than generous for their price. The house chicken bento included house chicken (chicken and mushroom with hot and "spicy" brown sauce), teriyaki chicken, rice, an egg roll, a crab puff, soup, and salad- all for $11.05!!
The chicken was nicely cooked- for an additional charge you can request white meat! The teriyaki sauce was good and standard. The house chicken sauce was not spicy at all. As for the rest of the bento box, the egg roll was a little soggy for the excess sauce that had spilled over. Otherwise a standard egg roll. I've never seen a crab puff that wasn't shaped like a cross between a wonton/fortune cookie but looks aside, a standard crab puff. Not much to say about the salad- it was faintly coated in a vinaigrette/oil dressing and it was fresh. The soup (egg drop soup?) was nicely seasoned.
Bf tried the large Tokyo chicken (grilled chicken with curry sauce) for $11.05. Bf liked it but wished there was more curry sauce.
Although I cannot attest to the ambiance personally (bf picked up the order), bf reported it "is very cool" and there are plants everywhere- on every table- and they're green and lush. What a cute little touch.
Definitely support this cute little spot!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - 357146365Apr 12, 2022
I used to come here many many years ago! They have changed the menu or ownership since then. No more lollipop style chicken legs and the food was not that good.
Would not recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Zack E.Mesa, AZ02Dec 1, 2023
The restaurant is under new management, I believe it's callled Mi Mi's Kitchen now. Stopped in for a quick lunch and got a teriyaki bowl. The portions are generous for a large bowl. More food than you'd get from a chain restaurant. The service was great as well!

Normally I don't post this kind of review, however I'm writing it because I want others to be aware.
We've been here a few times - my last time was probably 3 years ago. Now I'm pregnant and was really craving a sweet and sour chicken. I remembered this place and thought. Why not. it is 25 minutes away from us but I'm like it will be worth it.
We order pick up and once we get home I open it, it looks amazing. Smells amazing too. BUT half way done eating I noticed something black and took it to the side and noticed it was a roach! I felt disgusted.
I called the store to let them know what I found so they are aware for others and she immediately became defensive and said "we don't have bugs here, come see my kitchen" "maybe it's a vegetable bug?" The most she did was continue to assure me their kitchen is 100% clean. I assured her this came from there- there is no way I would ever do this to a business if it was not true. Im attaching pictures so you can see my findings.
She offered me free dinner next time - even though I threw up what I ate and ended up tossing the rest of it once I saw the roach- we will not be back. The choice is yours.
Not fair to spend $25 just to find a roach in your food.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rosanelly C.Tempe, AZ02Nov 18, 2023
This is my first time back after the renovation and new ownership and I am honestly very disappointed and unsatisfied. They got rid of same very delicious sides ( crab puffs ) for some very dry sides and that have no flavor. Please bring crab puffs .
