Very cool vibe for sure. Popped in here on my way from a Yale visit on my way back to Philly airport. I am from Orange County, CA where everything is new. I appreciate a place with some history.
My son and I were the only customers in here so the bartender was also our waiter. He was very cool and answered all of our questions about the area.
Halfway through our meal a bar patron came in. He joined our conversation and was nice too. If the weather wasn't so crazy I'd consider moving to this town.
We had the fried artichoke appetizer and it was excellent. We also had a good burger and an amazing grilled cheese. Both were served with the freshly made potato chips. The chips alone are reason enough to come here. Good iced tea too.
Overall a very nice experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 4, 2017
On a beautiful weather Sunday, we stopped in to confirm that the patio would be dog-friendly- and it is- so we settled in for a lunch cheese platter, soup, and salad.
The brunch menu offered an unlimited drink special which would have been lovely had we planned to walk around town afterward, so we opted for a bottle of sparkling San Pellegrino instead.
The kale salad was shredded with a light dressing, which helped reduce the typical chewiness of kale. The French onion soup was on the lighter side of broth, but still full of gooey cheese and soaked bread. The cheese plate was presented with Apple slices, powdered & spiced walnuts, and dried cranberries.
Without asking, the waiter asked if we'd like a bowl of water for the dog, which was kind and thoughtful. The service is a relaxed pace, better for lingering and chatting than a timed business meeting. We find nothing to complain about and would definitely return.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Foodie P.New Haven, CT989309Jan 8, 2019
Enjoyed a pleasant lunch at an old favorite midtown lunch/dinner haunt.
We enjoyed several appetizers; French Onion soup that was perfectly delicious and th Ahi tuna , also equally delicious.
Our main main was shared and nicely divided between us. Grilled Ahi Tuna Club On Multigrain Bread was our choice. While we loved the ingredients, the bread was either too toasted, a totally wrong sandwich choice or sat too long before it was served. It was hard and actually broke as I eating my half. May I suggest, just order it without the bread and ask for a side of rolls if you need bread.
Delicious cappuccino & biscotti/ sugar cookies short bread.
One noticeable concern was the space heater placed in the walkway corridor area going to the bathrooms. I'm glad our grandchildren were not with me; I'd be concerned with them touching it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 13, 2017
A great place, a little hidden in Westport. If you want to have a great meal, stop here, wont regret it. Start with a Lemon Drop Martini, which is amazing there!
The food is incredibly fresh, and flavorful. The dishes are creative, and from the appetizers to the entrees there is not one dish I wouldnt recommend. The team is super friendly. It is a bit on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for: great quality!
Worth giving it a try!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 880249665Oct 25, 2018
Have been wanting to try this place for like 15 years, no joke. Really liked the bar area and great to have a patio but good grief my salad and our burger we shared were just terrible. And not cheap terrible, but pretty pricey (for dinner) terrible. My advice is to skip the food here and go to drink!

Heard they now serve brunch 7 days a week so stopped in to sit fireside on a blustery, chilly Saturday morning. Perfect choice!
Hubby was happy to get his coffee right away while I went for a hot spiked cider. Service was attentive and food came without delay. I subbed salad for my home fries but couldn't resist stealing a few. Crispy with the right amount of salt, I won't skip them next time.
Our neighbors were loving their bottomless brunch cocktails, we'll be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Simone C.Tarpon Springs, FL23211Jul 22, 2017
Poor service.
Asked the server what he liked as it was our first time there. He recommended the chopped salad so we ordered that.
It was super dry chicken (probably old...), & maybe they forgot the dressing because it had no taste?
Asked for dressing & eh it was palatable but we shared the salad & didn't finish it. I'll give it one more try....

I came for brunch on Sunday with a friend and their baby. The maitre d' (a guy with a British accent) who greeted me when i got there wanted to hold my hand as he took me to their table. I dont like to hold hands with strangers. It was a bit weird.
He was a loud guy. Then, as the baby was sleeping, he let out a sneeze that scared all of us on the patio. It was the loudest sneeze I've ever heard, which startled the baby and was really a bit rude actually. He should really tone it down. He also came over to talk to us and talked longer than we liked. I couldn't even eat my salad because he was leaning over it!
He needs to review how he acts. Was very annoying.
Also, if you order any of the restaurant week specials, your portions will be smaller. That's not right.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aaron F.Mount Pleasant, SC67061May 19, 2018
I ordered a $30 lobster roll and got a small ice cream scoop portion of lobster in a mushy hollowed out brioche bun. The lobster roll didn't have much flavor and was very poor quality overall. For $30 I expect to get a top notch lobster roll. Even the side of fries that came with the meal were mushy and gross. This was by far the worse lobster roll I've had in my entire life!
