Yesterday we ordered food at the bar that never came! The server claimed we never ordered! Quite a bit of confusion and the bill was wrong as well. I think this is why it wasn't crowded. I wouldn't recommend it anymore.

I went to Turner Hall's tavern for the first time last night and it's safe to say it will be my last. My group of friends decided to stop in for a beer and dinner before attending the Bucks game. Right from the start of the night I felt something was off when it took what seemed like forever just to get one spotted cow from tap. Aside from the long wait the beer tasted flat and old. Upon being seated at our table we noticed pages from the menu were missing which one can only assume the kitchen was not prepared to offer a full menu. The items left on it were not that appeasing. We decided to order a round of appetizers because our server told us they were busy and ordering food might take longer and we didn't want to be late to the game. This was discerning because besides us there wasn't that many other people there. The egg rolls looked old, over-cooked, and tasted very bland. The cheese curds were just ok but the wait staff forgot our dipping sauces and never brought them out. The spicy cauliflowers tasted exactly like cauliflower, the breading didn't add to the flavor. Needless to say we didn't finish any of the appetizers. Overall, we do not recommend this venue until some changes are made.

I may not be Catholic, but I do reside in Wisconsin so a Friday fish fry experience is a must. We were lucky to get a table right away but they do have the waiting list option on the Yelp app. As I craving something spicy I ordered the Hotfish Battered Cod I was told it would be spicy like buffalo hot sauce, however I tasted no heat or spiciness at all. While not spicy, I enjoyed the crispiness of the fish which had a fresh, non-fishy tasty. Fries were crispy, Cole slaw fresh tasting; the bread was standard.
Skip the bloody and go for the classic WI Old Fashioned.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 5, 2019
Tavern at Turner Hall, you're only as good as your service; and service was pretty bad.
I stopped by as a table of four prior to a concert at Fisev Forum. There was abundant seating and we were ushered to a table in a few minutes. The server hyped the "Dia de los Muertos" menu and said the chimichangas were life changing. We all ordered entrees and cheese curds, plus alcoholic beverages. What followed was glacial service and quick glimpses of our server darting around tables as the tavern grew increasingly busier before showtime. It was about 15 minutes until we received drinks, and the server came back to the table saying that he forgot what one person ordered. Later on, a staff member came up to the table and said they were out of the chimis and I had to choose something else: the quesadilla al pastor off the special menu. The food was served by other staff who said that they were unable to place secondary drink orders. We waited so long for the server to come by that we went up to the bar and ordered independently.
The quesadilla was disappointing. Sad little tomatoes and lettuce chopped on the side of malnourished cup of sour cream. The pulled pork was dry, and underwhelming. But the curds were good and the house red wine was a hefty pour.
The tavern is a classic space, wooded interior, pool tables, high ceilings. But the service, ouch! I would think that prior to a concert staff would be rearing to go!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 23, 2018
I really found the reservation system and seating arrangements very odd for this space. First, on a game night they won't take any reservations which I completely understand.
We got there in between games to try to snag a table. Once there, they told us there is no waiting list. It's free range table grabbing which is really uncomfortable for the patrons. Imagine you are eating and people are hovering over you waiting to pounce on your table once you leave. I hope this is just a game night occurrence.
The food was solid as expected. Nothing crazy original but just decent upscale bar food. I opted for the ahi tuna and it was cooked to perfection; however, the veggies were oversauced and not very appealing. Others had the burgers and fries with rave reviews. I stole a couple of fries and they were definitely carbworthy.
The whole seating arrangement took down my review because it was uncomfortable stalking tables waiting for "the kill". I will visit on a non-game day and check out the seating. We were there for a show so it was very convenient to eat there first so I hope this was an anomaly.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Emily K.Green Bay, WI2469162521Oct 21, 2019
I love the inside of this building it is so cool. We bellied up to the bar and ordered some drinks. My drink was light and refreshing served in the daintiest little glass. We also ordered the pretzel which was not my favorite. While it was pipping hot the bread lacked any flavor outside of a light amount of salt on it. The mustard had a kick of heat. Usually we prefer the cheese over mustard but the cheese was grainy and not my favorite at all. Service was quick but the bartender talked to us way too much. I hate to say this but when I am on a date with my husband I like to talk to him. alone. At least she was friendly and I think we would come back for some drinks.

Ugh. Waitlist said 22 min. Sat here 55 min and waitlist was never updated in spite of five parties being seated. Five tables were open on one side of the bar but had never been cleaned. Host then disappeared for like 10 min. We literally didn't see him any where and we were looking for him to check our place on waitlist. Finally seats opened sup at the bar and we grabbed them but tools ya a other. 10 min before anyone came to take a drink order (luckily we knew what we wanted to eat so we ordered that as well).
Food was typical bar food taste. Nothing exceptional about it. Just blah.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Allison A.Sacramento, CA25164149Dec 15, 2018
I went here for a work Christmas party and was charmed the second I walked through the door. The space is warm and welcoming with lovely wood floors and comfy seating. Pool tables, darts, and great service. Also, the food they put out was really remarkable. Tons of vegetarian options like fresh salad and veggies with hummus and lovely cheeses. The rice and veggies dish was really delicious and fresh. The meat eaters in the room enjoyed a wide variety of yummy sliders. I am definitely coming here for dinner soon. I was so happy here.
