The ice cream is so good. I spoke with the new management and they are planning to have apple cider doughnut sundaes this fall. I am so excited!!! They have a nice pole barn with picnic tables under it and a small play ground for the kids. I will definitely be coming back.

As of July 22nd 2022 this business has reopened! You scream, I scream, and they have ice cream. Please ignore my earlier review which noted their month-long closure. They're back!

I need to write additional words to get this posted, so, save your gas and find another business that remains open. Sorry. - Joseph R.New York, NY033Aug 20, 2022
Great ice cream with a vegan selection if you so wish. I have tried their brownie hot fudge sundae as well as their strawberry milkshake, both very delicious. Prices are fair and you get a pretty good serving . I highly recommend you stop by. (Cash only)

Favorite place for soft serve. Great to be back! There is a nice play area for kids in the back and plenty of picnic tables.

One of these days, I'll start eating ice cream again. Until then, I will continue to bring my son on playdates. This one brought me here.
Not because the ice cream is better than any of the other seasonal stands in the area. But rather, because the playground is further away from the road.
And the playground was a big hit.
But I was not able to resist having a few bites of the kiddo's strawberry cone. Apparently the hard ice-cream is homemade. The color was remarkably bright and unnatural. But at the same time, it had lots of little strawberry flecks and seeds. Overall, it was fine, if maybe a little icy.
Plus they have soft-serve, and what I believe would be the standard menu slate of burgers, fries, fish-fry, etc.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Heather O.Boston, MA2574Jul 28, 2018
Super friendly owner and delicious ice cream! If you go during Shark Week, try Shark Attack, salted vanilla ice cream with white chocolate chips and strawberry swirl. It was so good that I went back from second helping!

I used to love it here as a kid but then they changed owners and the prices skyrocketed. The ice cream is good but you just don't get much for your money.
The playground is fun for kids yet last summer when there it was very dirty.
The owner (woman) seems disrespectful to her teen employees and is hard on customers!
But give it a shot if you're looking for a treat!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Willie W.Albany, NY821065Aug 11, 2012
I think this place is just not for me, but my wife thought it was great. A friend raves about the place, it's around the corner from her home. I was in the area, decided to try it.
They have this big sign with the 24 flavors of soft serve they have. I immediately wanted to drive away, I could not imagine how they managed to store 24 different soft serve machines. I stayed in the car and let my wife decide what flavor I should have (I know I am notoriously difficult if something isn't exactly the way I want it. I have driven around looking for over two hours deciding on places to have lunch, only to get fed up and go home to eat left overs instead.)
Selecting the size of the ice cream was remarkably easy, there is only one size.
It became apparent that this was not 24 individual flavors, but some sort of flavoring injection process to whatever base flavoring. It is essentially a Snoopy Sno-Cone machine for squeeze ice cream. The size if the same because all of the ice cream has to be the same size so it clears the machine for the next customer.
This resulted in ice cream that was too soft and drippy. Oddly, the ice cream is actually colder than you would expect even though it is extra squishy. This is probably related to the flavors being blended with the base, just adding more air to an already soft ice cream.
On the other hand, the wife liked the place. Seeing gluten free cones (only the second place we've seen with that in the area) brought an immediate smile to her face. Then she saw some brand of ice cream called Only8, so named because there are only eight calories per ounce. A small serving of that was four ounces, so DeAnna was excited to have a treat for only 32 calories.
I did see that they have hand made ice cream. I agreed to visit again sometime and try something they are making themselves as opposed to pre-packaged flavorings.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Oct 31, 2008
I've been devotedly coming here ever since I was a little kid. The place is pretty much the same except for the new play area for kids off to the side. I love their soft-serv and their little sundaes. They also have hot carmel topping which some places don't have and is always my favorite. Tastee Treat has always a good place to stop and carries a lot of nostalgia for me since I've been coming here since I was super tiny.
