A friend of mine recommended this place to me. She has been tanning for over a decade and a lot of places she's been to have either been nasty (one place had white stains, if you know what I mean. Don't bring a black light... hahaha) or poor service.
When I first joined, I had no tanning bed experience, nor sunbathing. When I got a tan, it's because I was out and about on warm to hot, sunny days. Started there in February 2012 during the free tanning weekend. My first impression of the place is the cleanliness. I knew I had no fear of seeing any "white stains." Secondly, the staff are friendly & helpful with how to work the equipment and tanning tips. Great equipment in small rooms, but they are clean. When you walk into a room, you will find the goggles, a hand towel and a sign that says that the bed has been sanitized. You can listen to music with the mini-stereo in the room if you wish. I normally don't because I rotate during my sessions.
In the 5 months I've experienced, I've tried out the Saturn (their top of the line bed) and the Sun (the 2nd to the best bed). I love the Saturn. It is a roomy, flat bed and is the only bed with a shoulder tanner. The Sun was okay. The bed is curved like a half circle, so it does get uncomfortable in there but it does get the job done.
My friend tried the bed in room #2 (she doesn't remember the bed name), but she told me that she likes it better than the Sun bed because it's a flatter bed unlike the Sun bed.
The tanning prices may be steep, but the packages make it worth it for the unlimited visits per month. I wouldn't recommend buying it day by day as it would get pricey. They do have a "Star" package, which is when the "Stars" are a form of currency. I chose to get a package because I can't gauge how often I'll go per month. You can also downgrade a package, but you have to make sure you do that before the 5th of each month. If you don't, then you have to wait 2 billing cycles for it to kick in.
I also do not recommend that you buy tanning lotion there. You can find it much cheaper online. Lately, they have been offering free tanning if you purchase $40+ lotion, but you are limited to the type of beds you can use. However, the staff can help you pick a lotion based on your skin and your tanning needs, and you can jot down the name of the lotion (or take a picture) and search for it online.
You can also buy purses/bags and slippers there if you want, but would you really want to? I don't. I usually just walk by it when I walk-in and when I leave.
The parking lot is okay. It can feel cramped in there if it's busy. There is 30 min parking which is perfect for the tanning customers, but sometimes those are all occupied. Also, beware of those evil drivers that don't care if you need to get out of your parking spot when you're blindsided by a car bigger than a compact car.
Overall, I would recommend this place for tanning. Even though you may pay higher prices than others, but to me, it's worth it because it's the best tanning salon that's open around where I live--cleanliness, friendly staff, easy to get to and parking isn't Downtown Hayward style.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nina E.Fremont, CA456021Aug 22, 2015
They are very expensive ! Since this is the only tanning place near me I have no other choice really! I'm trying their red light therapy session . I notice that the bulbs are fading to white color .... Not sure if this is really working . This is my 16th session so far I don't see anything difference.

The only reason why I'm giving two stars is because the girl in the front desk was nice, but very inexperienced... you can tell they don't train their employees well at all. i came in and explained that i never used a tanning bed (i only used it once in HS like 10 years ago) so i asked her to explain the difference in the beds and how they work. she basically sounded like she was repeating a manual, telling me about the pressure in the bulbs, which doesnt make sense to me, i would have liked her to explain which beds are safer, why and how long i should stay in each one. when i asked how long i should stay in their level 1 bed and she said she would recommend the full time, i asked if that was ok even it if was my first time and she mentioned most people go in the full amount, so i stupidly trusted her... now my whole body is burned... i have never experienced a burn this bad and its all over my body.
my coworker explained to me everything they told her at the salon she went to and its nothing like what i experienced at this place. my coworker did a waaay better job explaining everything compared to the girl at the front desk.
Im really upset because this isnt something they should take lightly, they should train their personnel well and be especially careful with the new customers who arent familiar with how tannin beds work. i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone new at all.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marisa N.Fremont, CA10730121Mar 15, 2010First to Review
Tanner's Paradise is the place that has replaced Paradise Tans.
I had gone to Paradise tans several times in the past few years... I was quite surprised that they up and left so abruptly.
Nonetheless, as a creature of habit, I thought I'd give Tanner's Paradise a shot. This past weekend I came in and was glad to see they were letting people tan for free. After reviewing their packages I must say 1)They are very confusing and 2) They are quite expensive. The front desk girl was super friendly and provided better service compared to Paradise Tans, however, they are REALLY pushing the sale of their tanning lotions....
With the new owners, not much has changed besides the interior paint and the fact that they no longer take appointments. All the beds are exactly the same.
I'm kicking myself just thinking about how much I spent on my package. I should have gone somewhere else and saved some money, but I was lured in as this place is so convenient for me.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Colleen B.Fremont, CA563723Aug 7, 2012
If I could give negative stars I would!
Do not go here!
The young staff who work the desk are innocent and unknowledgeable do not count on them!
First of all prices are expensive for a middle range salon with average beds. If you choose a monthly plan you must signs a service agreement and recurring payment plan for a total of four months! Which they did not clearly explain! I signed the contract reluctantly and the girl working the counter wrote the wrong dates of how long is was signed in for (only including 3 months)-= fail!
I was also pro-rated for first month due to late start date and had to pay the next month in full at time of signing up. This would have been fine but they also withdrew the money from my account. I had to call, was referred to a manager and then refunded because of their error!
Second beds are so so with broken pieces, small rooms and sometimes you have to wait . No appointments are accepted.
Third ...I went to cancel my plan due to a medical condition( I am not pregnant). I requested to be called that the plan would be immediately de-acctivated due to this situation and never received a call by management. The next month I was charged, I called to find out the next month(June) would be my last and still was required to pay and again July I was charged. When calling the location all the girls could say each time was a manager can return your call. Each time I had to wait one to two days for a manager to return my call. I finally spoke to a manager in July , she admitted their error and refunded my money and assured it would not happen again. Here we are August and I am once again waiting for a manager to call because I was charged again this month
FYI the refunds took over a week to be put back into my account!
I strongly recommend if you do decide to stay here DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A MONTHLY PLAN. Overall just stay away I know Fremont has no salons for tanning but all this trouble and poor service was not worth the stress!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ashley C.Livermore, CA1317621Apr 22, 2013Updated review
Update (April 22, 2013)
I received a phone call from the manager Hope today (five days after the incident). She was very apologetic and refunded me the stars that were used from my last tanning session.
I don't plan on purchasing any more stars or packages once my stars run out. There are much better tanning salons in the bay area that are worth paying the premium. I heard Pleasanton has a few good spots.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 20, 2013Previous reviewWORST TANNING SALON EVER! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
If i could give negative stars, I would....
The prices are very expensive and I was talked into purchasing their package of 40 stars. Each bed is broken into star levels. The good beds (the ones that actually work) are 4 stars, so you can imagine those stars get used up quick. 40 stars will cost you $140.00 which equals 10 visits using the good beds only or as they call it a Tanner's Paradise "high intensity beds". DO NOT waste your time using the regular beds, YOU WILL NOT GET TAN. These beds are extremely old and broken down.
My second tanning session here was Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 around 2:30pm. I decided to go into the "high intensity" stand up bed for 10 mins (max time allowed) because I was pressing for time. BIG MISTAKE! After undressing and applying my tanning lotion I had trouble starting the bed....HHMMM could it be because the START Button was missing on the bed. They had an arrow that was drawn on a Post It and taped to the bed where the start button used to be. SO GHETTO! After pushing the hole in the tanning bed where I was directed to push by the informative Post It, the bed failed to turn on. I pushed the button again, still nothing. I called out to the girl working the front desk in hopes that she could hear my cries but she did not respond. Here I am standing in a small booth, naked, cold feeling frustrated and hopeless. I then grabbed my handy iphone out of my purse and called Tanner's Paradise from my booth. Apparently the girl at the front desk was on the phone, so it took several phone calls to finally get through (about ten minutes later). The girl at the front desk apologized and said that she is working on getting my tanning bed started as we speak. Then all hell broke loose. Another woman from another booth started crying out "My bed shut off in the middle of my tan!" So now there are two customers both unhappy and not getting the service we paid a premium price for.
After standing naked in my booth for about 20 minutes, the girl working the front desk was finally able to get both beds working. After my tan was over, I got dressed and walked over to the front desk where I met the other lady who didn't have a very good experience either. The girl at the front desk took down both of our names and phone numbers and promised that we would receive a phone call from the manager that evening and she will take care of us. THAT PHONE CALL NEVER CAME.
I stopped by Tanner's Paradise today to see if the manager was in. Unfortunately she wasn't. There was a new girl working the front desk today and I told her about my bad experience I had on Wednesday and how I was promised a phone call from the manager.
The girl replied, "Oh yeah, I have your info right here and we already emailed our manager letting her know to call you."
I replied, "I was promised a phone call the same day and I haven't heard from your manager."
The girl responded with "My manager doesn't work weekends and she's really bad at returning calls and I don't know what to tell you."
I replied, "She had two days (Thursday and Friday) to return my call before the weekend started." (Girl at front desk tilts head to side, shrugs shoulders and bats eyelashes)
I will keep YELP posted with updates. I am going to demand a refund. - Susan Z.San Francisco, CA109442Jun 10, 2014
This place is ok but I just love Valerie at the front desk. She is a little spit fire that thinks she is a mermaid and I think she might be correct. Get that education and make that money little lady. So proud of you......

Never go here!all the good reviews are from employees and family.went there in December offered me 3 months for $50.00 a month.i said perfect, that's all I need because I'm leaving the country for a few months.when I returned I was very busy with my mother who was in poor health.after she passed away,I went over bills to try and plan for funeral arrangements I noticed Tanners Paradise had never stopped taking out the $50.00 a month.when I went Tanners Paradise they told me I had to cancel the contract.you mean the 3 month contract?I signed a 3 month contract that ended in 3 months.even though I have the single one sided page contract that nowhere says I had to cancel after 3 months, they refuse to refund my money.the money is not the only issue,it's how they manipulate poor unsuspecting customers out of their hard earned money.and I really could have used that money.worst part is I met a lady that said the same.if you do go,just be careful,I hate to see it happen to someone else

After signing up for a 3 month program, I was told that I could cancel my membership once my 3 months were up. I called today spoke with Catlin (Maybe spelled different sorry) and was told I would have to pay another month before I could cancel my membership, because I had to pay for 3 whole months. I have only gone a few times in Feb. as for March I haven't gone at all. We moved to another state and I called to cancel my 3 month contract since it was 3 months, but I am now going to pay for 2 1/2 months that Tanner's Paradise will just pocket the money. Personally if a company is this shady in their contracts buyer beware!! Also if it would be important for your team members to know this as well and tell the buyer before they sign. When I signed up the person who helped me had to call someone just to understand the membership.
