This place has the absolute best lengua tacos. They also make their tortillas fresh every day. Easily my favorite taco place in the Bay area and I eat it a lot of taquerias.

When the price is high, and the food quality is poor, you feel sad. The tacos I had today were the worst food I ever bought. Nothing was good, in addition they charge $.75 cents for credit card use. I am so disappointed and if I have the courage I ask for refund.

I came back, could be 6 times, never good again and the cost never the same for the same Supper burrito. During the visits, I found out a 75 cents for using a card was added. Next time I paid cash and still had. 70 cents charge. The last visit, I was watching, I paid cash & still an extra charge.
They are dishonest, because when I ordered my supper burrito, he asked me if I need more items added, I said just what it comes with. Then he asked me something else and I said yes. Here it it is a 75 cents added.
Not coming to those crooks ever again. - Eva P.CA, CA03Apr 19, 2024
Yo soy clienta de ellos desde que empezó en este lugar

Came by for a quick dinner the other night and it was a quick and easy experience. Tacos Los Gemelos is located in a rather run-down part of Redwood City. Parking is available on the street or in their private lot. Dining is available both indoors or outdoors. Staff behind the counter spoke English and the back of the house staff wore gloves while making food.
Opted for the flour super carne asada quesadilla and it was decent. The carne asada was cooked well done and the quesadilla was chopped up into a dozen or so pieces and topped with lettuce and spicy salsa.
There is a 75 cent surcharge for credit cards.
$12.5 for a quick dinner.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 1 - May 12, 2023
This is a nice casual spot in Redwood City serving solid tacos and quesadillas on homemade tortillas. I got the QUESABIRRIA PLATE ($15.99), which came with a generous serving of four tacos and a side of consommé to dip them in, though the tacos themselves were already quite oily and messy to eat.
It seemed like every other table around us ordered the same thing, and for good reason -- the birria was very moist and flavorful, and the tortillas had a nice crisp to them from being fried on the grill, though that did cause them to break apart while eating. I wish there was an option to order the quesabirria tacos individually so that I could have sampled more items, but they made for a very filling and satisfying (if a little greasy) dinner, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the tacos (my friend commented that the burritos are not quite as good).Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pheap S.San Jose, CA14544437Dec 23, 2023
Came here with my BF. He said he frequents this spot. Since, I'm new to the area of course I trust him. He was craving their Barbacoa Bowl with fresh warm homemade tortillas. He ate everything. I had their chicken taquitos. Soo good! Just wished it had a bit more filling.

Flavorful, delicious Mexican food! The Quesabirras with the consume broth is so good! I always ask for the spicy salsa it's the best! Definitely recommend

My go-to is the tacos de Barbacoa and I like to order mine with fresh pinto beans inside the taco...ufff! Authentic fresh Mexican food!

Very very average, at best, burrito. Ordered two carne asada burritos. On super and one regular. Both were roughly the same size. The carne asada is barley grilled... It could pass for steamed or boiled. Very little meat in both burritos. Both burritos were on the smaller side. Salsa is average also.
No salsa bar, jalapenos, and no chips. At their prices, it should be included.
One extra star for the cashier that was really nice.
There is surprisingly a lot of average Mexican food in redwood city. But also home to the best in Los Carnalitos! I just wish they were open later.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Calyse M.Stanislaus County, CA515282Sep 23, 2023
Definitely mediocre food that barely uses salt
Food is overpriced for the amount of food
Micheladas are definitely not worth the money and are definitely not good. For the size it has and price never again coming back here
This place definitely uses shrinkflation
Flautas barely had any chicken inside they were more like those frozen taquitos you find in the freezer that are not even 3/8th in diameter and for 4 of them to be almost $20 for that price it should have had rice and beans but no it was just the 4
Definitely do not recommend
Make sure to get your receipt
It was me and my coworker, got two plain quesadillas(used regular size tortilla de harina)and two micheladas the flautas and a jamaica
It was well above $70
I prefer going to iguey(2 micheladas, 1 pacífico, iguey nachos, quesadilla, 1 jamaica, 2 tostadas de ceviche) in san carlos or nikkos grill(2 sodas, coconut water, quesadilla(used the big tortilla de harina), 2 tacos de asada, 4 tacos de pescado)in redwood
You definitely get more bang for your buck
3 people eating and it was still below $70Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Samar F.San Jose, CA1104Oct 2, 2023
These tacos are SO good - made with handmade tortillas that are fluffy, delicious, and don't fall apart at the first hint of moisture. The meat is super tender and flavorful. On this trip we had the barbacoa (oh so tender), chorizo (crispy and delicious), pastor (bomb.com), lengua (if you like lengua, you won't be disappointed), and pollo (tender and juicy), and we cleaned our plates. We also got the consome that was hot and delicious and added extra heat to the heat provided by the amazing and fiery salsa Japonesa (de aceite). Just learned they also own the sports bar next door and you can order here and they'll deliver your the food there. I haven't been to the bar yet, but with the food, I'm down to give it a visit next time there's a game!
In short: the food is great, the staff (José - one of the gemelos!) is super friendly, and the prices are reasonable. We're definitely coming back! My friend who lives in the area comes here at least once a week.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1
