This place ROCKS!
The Tacos al Pastor and the Tortas are incredible....the shrimp cocktail (YES YOU HEARD RIGHT) is actually awesome believe it or not.....This place is hands down the best Taco Truck in San Antonio...perhaps not the best location but definitely worth the trip!!
...oh and I almost forgot...the Chlies Rellenos are home made delicacies!

This taco truck does not play around. Two things make this THE truck to find and hit up. First, the service is amazing. Alma and her husband really work hard to make the food delicious and the people happy. The second thing is the food, it's just so good.
I've found, compared to other food trucks, that the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. Think of tackling a burrito, good luck, one burrito can be two meals for some, and for others...pull out the stretchy pants.
Their tacos, tortas, quesadillas, it's all good. I think I've had just about everything on their menu. All made in the truck with speed and with a smile.
I've only hit them up once at their street location, but mostly find them downtown outside of Artpace for what we call taco Fridays. Artpace puts out tables, sells drinks, and has music going for you to enjoy the food, some friends, and the outdoors.
If you're in the area, give them a try.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dominic R.San Antonio, TX9745Aug 3, 2015
Super burritos are the truth. Can't believe they been slangin' these for years right down the road from from me and I just had one today.
Al pastor was awesome. The chicken I had was sorta dry.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - alejandro p.Oakland, CA1716438Aug 8, 2010
I'm glad to see the secret is out!
I remember in the early 2000s when I pitched a story on the (at the time) still new phenomena of taco trucks in San Antonio. Flash forward half a decade and you're likely to find one whenever and where ever hungry people are found. Along a small stretch of Nogalitos on night I counted at least 4 within walking distance of one another. Taco trucks are a godsend! Especially late at night when everywhere else has closed. But my visit to Tacomiendo came on an afternoon. Too hungry to sit down and eat, too impatient to go home and cook, they were at the right place at the right time. A small miracle, since my friends had tried to take me there a couple of times but they weren't open then. I ordered the torta with chile rellenos. Very filling! It hit the spot and carried me 'til the late night hours. Bravo! to Salvador y Alma!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ian I.Tucson, AZ223Apr 4, 2015
The best! The carne asada super burrito was just the right level of spicy and was exactly what I was looking for. The chicken taco was also excellent. As others have said, the service was great.
My wife's chile relleno was very authentic and she loved it.
The only bad part about this place is that it's not close enough to my house!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Joe B.San Antonio, TX127Aug 9, 2013
El Tacomiendo is not only a first-rate taco truck; it also belongs in the conversation for best Mexican food in San Antonio. Featuring reasonable prices, varied selection, and consistent quality, it is a rare treasure that offers traditional dishes with a lighter and more subtle touch than the average Tex-Mex fare.
It also features terrific range: from the mild to the exceptionally spicy, from the light tacos to the massive tortas (a bit like eating two hamburgers), from the basic perfection of the tostadas to the complexity of the sauces. It's also a terrific place for vegetarians, as the bean dishes and chile rellenos are outstanding.
To top it off, the service is exceptional as well, consistently quick, friendly, and reliable. All in all, you owe it to yourself to check out El Tacomiendo, either at its Friday lunch gig at ArtPace or at its home base at the southwest corner of Interstate 35 and Division.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tylrr P.Santa Monica, CA14Feb 17, 2012
Tacos al pastor are a good way to judge the quality of a taco truck or taqueria. They are also my favorite food. These are among the best tacos al pastor I have ever eaten.
I tried Tacomiendo at Artpace Taco Truck Friday (12pm-2pm). The pastor here has the classic al pastor flavor, with great corn tortillas. salsa served on the side, with a couple pickled carrots. $1.25 a taco. They were served up hot, fresh and quick - 1 min. I can't wait to go back, now that I've found their normal location

Very disappointed, I typed in "handmade tortillas" and the flour ones were store bought here. The tacos were too much money considering how tiny they were. And they were gross; they tasted like I got them from a gas station. I guess truck restaurants are not for me.
