Been using TRP a long time. Good company and trustworthy. Do have one issue. If I want to close out a fund and move my money elsewhere I have to pay $20 for each fund I close. I took this for granted but know Vanguard does not charge such a fee. At one time Fidelity use to charge the same kind of fees but not now. So come on TRP your competitors are not charging such a silly fee, why are you? Opening all my new IRA's, etc. in Vanguard now to avoid these PENELTY fees TRP charges

If I could this company no stars I would do it. I took over my friend's account six months ago as the power-of-attorney. I struggled for months with all of the correct paperwork from his attorney to gain access while his bank account dwindled down more and more because I could not get them to put HIS money into HIS bank account. I dealt with a "Life Events" agent" gave me the run-around until I wrote a letter to the CEO. Now that my friend has died and I am the executor AND major beneficiary, the same Life Events" agent" is AGAIN giving me trouble. The company sent a letter addressed to my DEAD FRIEND at the address of the first DEAD power-of-attorney asking my DEAD FRIEND for his death certificate. THIS IS THE KIND OF INCOMPETENCE I AM DEALING WITH. Once the estate is settled, I plan on taking EVERY CENT of his over million-dollar investment away and putting elsewhere. HORRIBLE INCOMPETENT COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would leave 0 stars if possible. My employer uses this company for our 401ks. Both the application and the website do not allow you to actually view your account performance over time. For example, the site and app are both currently telling me that I have a positive return since inception. However, my vested balance in the account has gone down! Across all of my investment accounts, I have never encountered a company which does not allow you to view the performance of your investments accurately over time. To me, this is super suspicious and sketchy.
In addition to not being able to find accurate data on my investments (literally the primary concern when it comes to retirement investments!), their website is full of bugs! I have not once used this site without having glitching issues etc. If this were not my employer 401k company, I would be certain it was a scam.
The customer service representatives I have spoken with are for the most part kind, however the customer service line itself is poorly configured.
Their retirement portfolios and many of their stock options have cost ratios WAY above the standard.
Honestly, my experience with this company is so poor, I'm considering whether or not to even have a 401k, because I honestly don't believe my funds are safe.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David M.San Francisco, CA02Apr 7, 2024
I asked to close my account that I have had probably over 20 years. I asked to send it to my bank on file. The answer was no. They said the only current option was to mail it. I asked how they would mail it ; UPS, FedEx ... the answer was again no. USPS was the only option. I was shocked. I asked if it was sent registered or certified. The answer was neither. They were going to drop a check for my entire life savings in the mail with no tracking or anything. This says everything anyone needs to know about T.RowePrice and the care they would give your money. What a terrible way to run a business.

Horrendous customer service - you can never get through to anyone on the phone. It is like they are a company to test and improve your patience limits and not improve your finances. After a long hold with terrible music, you either get put on hold again within the first 2 seconds or the person you have cannot provide answers to the simplest of questions about their system, forms, or activities. Run with your money and go to one of the other financial / investment institutions. They must be giving big big discounts to state college savings funds and employers to be the chosen ones as that is how I got stuck with them. I am taking all my money somewhere else now that I am a small business owner and can choose to do that.

Terrible experience with this firm compared to other financial firms. When I wanted to roll over funds to another firm they made me fill out paper forms, mail them to the other institution for signatures, then mail them back. What a 1950s way of doing business. I'm going to remove all my funds.

It is incomprehensible that anyone would be trusting their money with this company unless they absolutely have to, because of their employer's terrible decision to use them for their 401K.
Their site is an abomination -- Once it aborted in the middle of an exchange. Fortunately, I did not lose any money but I am not even sure their software guarantees transaction integrity every time, since they are not even able to fix the most basic display issues.
For instance, the balance history graph has not been displaying for close to 6 months now, and whenever I call, they tell me to try another browser (I am using both Chrome and Edge with all current updates), or to clear the caches (which I systematically do whenever I have to access this site).
Maybe it is time for them to fire their technical team and hire actual software engineers, rather than picking them off the street?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jack M.Woodinville, WA17624May 4, 2023
T ROWE PRICE took my 401k funds without my permission and now refuses to restore the funds.
it has been going on two weeks since they grabbed all of my Costco 401k funds...no notice...now they deny it.
BE AWARE SOMETHING IS GOING ON AT T ROWE PRICE
Keep your eye on your account.
Having tried for days, I have given up personally pursuing the recovery of my Costco 401k funds. I'll let the governmental agencies take over.
Based on the facts that the personnel of TRP's Costco Concierge Group have repeatedly demonstrated blatant dishonesty coupled with obvious incompetence, I have decided to:
1. Stop personally pursuing the recovery of my retirement funds as the experience is too frustrating for $26,000. I am assuming TRP has just taken my money; and, when they feel like returning it, maybe they will.
2. I am, per TRP Ethics Hotline personnel, filing complaints with FINRA, SEC, FBI and the Kirkland Police.
3. I will consult with attorneys who have successfully litigated this type of defalcation by T Rowe Price.
4. I will let my colleagues at Costco of this experience.
5. I will contact the TRP Board of Directors with all of the facts of this case.
6. I will contact the WSJ investigative staff about what this shows about the integrity of TRPHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dr. Michael K.San Francisco, CA01Oct 10, 2023
T R P is now one of the worst investment firms ever. Their customer service is pathetic, if ever you can reach them by phone. Once you finally talk to an investment person they can't or don't answer questions, except to state "this is our policy.
If you like paying fees you will absolutely love this company. They even charge a fee for speaking to what they call an "investment advisor". These investment advisors have about as much knowledge as 1st grader! They cannot respond to their own policies, especially various fees that they charge. Their only response when you question their fees is "that's our policy."
They even charge a fee to close or make any change to your account. I am so sick of them deducting their nonsence fees that after 15 years I gave up on T.Roe Price.
Any gains that you made in making your trades are totally wiped out by their fees. They even charge postage fees for sending out your monthly statements.
On top of all of the above their investment performance has been mediocre at best for quite some time. LET THE BUYER BEWARE!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joey M.Abingdon, MD018Oct 6, 2023
Do not trust T. Rowe Price. For 2 and a half months I tried to close an account and have the money sent to me. The first check never showed and I asked for another. A month went by with them telling me it's in the mail and on the way. Call again and was told the new check was never sent. They send 2 more that went to my childhood home that I haven't lived at in 25 years. When I asked about it they said the old address was still in my file even though I updated my address years ago. When I finally did get my check, I get a letter about the follow ups that were made and was told my account would be red flagged if they felt there was any suspicious behavior. Invest somewhere else
