Like Newcombe Tennis Ranch, I have visited TBarM on several occasions for conferences, and while it still has a place in my heart, I felt that the last time I visited was a bit of a downgrade.

The food was still excellent, and the staff remarkably polite and even willing to help explain some of the history behind the founding of TBarM. But the conference facilities that I was located in was in the cabins, and I couldn't help but feel a bit of "put together quickly". The past experiences I've had would be in the 4 to 5 star range, but the last time was closer to 3 stars than 4. I think the best way to improve the rating is to refurbish the mattresses in the cabins (the ones that have bunk beds) and also clean up the restrooms a bit.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience at T Bar M Retreats. There is so much to do but the environment is so peaceful. We connected with our nature side for sure. Lots of fun! We will be back!

I felt this place had a few misses but great pluses so I gave it an extra star instead of three stars.

The pluses: The Sports Facility was great! We played ping pong, shuffle board, basketball and almost went into the exercise room. We then went for a bike ride which was nice but there are a lot of inclines on the roads. The pool area was nice and there's tons of outside and active things to do. It would be a great place for a family reunion, family vacation or large group of friends.

The negatives: Rooms are outdated...bathroom walls were peeling and very similar to a Motel 8. Breakfast wasn't great. First day there were breakfast tacos, cereal and fruit. The second day there were eggs, hash browns (tasted frozen and we couldn't eat them), pigs in a blanket, cereal and fruit. We went to check out bikes and the front desk clerks were on the phone and we waited several minutes without being helped so left and had to go back. The bikes need to be repaired...two had crooked front tires, squeaked and my chain came off. Saw another girl whose chain came off as well.

For the room quality I think they are overpriced..for the amenities it makes up for it a little bit. Would only go back with a large group or kids.

Weird name, awesome place. I had the luxury of coming here for a wedding, it was held in a lovely open-air sanctuary. We stayed in on a simple hotel room that was great for the price; props for the extra sink outside of the bathroom that made it perfect for sharing a room with others.

I can write a full review just about the amenities! This place was a complete playground for someone like me - mini golf, soccer/football field, ping pong, pool, indoor and outdoor basketball, tennis courts, softball fields, disc golf, a ropes course, outdoor movies, sand volleyball, pool volleyball... oh my god, so much stimulation!!! I imagine it being great for a family vacation or a romantic getaway for the athletic couple. Just one thing to note: I came after Labor Day (aka off-season from any summer camps) so it was pretty relaxing, I imagine it being a hot mess otherwise.

T-what? Not being a native Texan (naturally understanding ranch names) I had to pull the "excuse me, what did you say?" card several times before I finally understood the name of the place. But once I knew what to put in my GPS, it was smooth sailing. Well, while the GPS signal lasts, that is.

I've visited several times now, both times as part of a group workshop for a professional organization. Both times were great experiences, and I was particularly impressed with the food. We had several site-catered meals, and they were far better than I expected. The yeast bread served with the pork tenderloin deserves special mention. I've enjoyed several house-made salad dressings as well as some amazing breakfast potatoes.

There are several conference areas - some with attached lounge areas, and our group loved getting afternoon cookies/brownies that were still warm. While there wasn't time to take advantage of all the amenities on site, it seemed like other people staying at the resort were having a blast. One of the amenities I did have time to enjoy on my last visit was the trail. Unpaved, but nicely cleared and a welcome change from the concrete I'm used to.

The rooms are simple, yet well-appointed and showcase the beauty of the surroundings. The stars at night are mesmerizing, and the outdoor gathering areas are so peaceful and serene. Overall, a great place to mix business with a little much-needed relaxation.

Not exactly what I expected but we had a great time. We rented a 2 bedroom condo that's privately owned but managed by t bar m. We got access to the main pool, tennis courts, rec center, bike check out, baseball diamond, etc. Additionally, because we were in one of the "villas," we had access to another pool & tennis court. The private pool was hardly used so we basically had it to ourselves.

They had nightly movies, s'mores, and ice cream, but we didn't participate. I expected it to be a lot more like the Hyatt Resorts in Bastrop & San Antonio. No lazy river but better in some ways. Definitely homey feel rather than corporate hotel property feel.

The rec center wasn't air conditioned, but huge fans made it bearable. Fusball, ping ping, pool, shuffle board, basketball, volleyball, and X-Box all under one roof. I was unimpressed the first day, but I think it was just my massive headache. Our 12-year-old spent hours there and seemed to have a great time. The 2nd day all 4 of us spent quite a bit of time there and had fun.

The room was great. It was well decorated, clean, and was well maintained. We only stayed 2 nights but could easily have stayed a week. With the kitchen, things to do on the property, and things to do in New Braunfels, a week would fly by.

The condos are privately owned and one is for sale. If I had had the money, I'd buy it before we leave today.

The price wasn't cheap, but for what you get and how big the room was, it was quite reasonable. It is big enough to share with several people which would help with sharing the cost.

Despite being a condo, it still had normal hotel amenities such as maid service, shampoo, soap, hair dryer, etc. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots & pans, and even a dish washer.

      We'll be back.

Pretty disappointed by our stay here. The website really made the place look awesome...and I'm sure that it was 30 years ago. We Had one of the condos and found that the room was very spacious (great for our family of 6!) but everything was very old and either in need of cleaning or repair. A few items we noticed:

Dirty towels in the bathroom upon checking in.

      Unrepaired holes in the doors.

      Pock-marks in the bathtubs

Holes in the wall half-attempted for repair. Still spackled and with exposed anchors.

Wallpaper that had been peeling and was stapled back to the wall.

Baseboard trim cracked and missing with open holes.

Soap and shampoo not replaced until requested.

Trash not taken out, no cleaning or vacuuming.

Trash bags not replaced after we took out the trash.

Appliances old and pretty beaten up.

The grounds outside were nice and enjoyable. Kids enjoyed playing in the pools!

Overall, it wouldn't take much to significantly improve the experience here. It just hasn't been done at T-Bar, I'm sorry to say. It certainly wasn't worth the $2k we dropped here for a week's stay!

Scraggly, bad housekeeping and neglected maintenance. - Windows in the hotel and cottages were so filthy you can't even see out of them! Wooden blinds broken so bad you have no privacy! Landscaping is terribly neglected all around the hotel. Flower beds look horrible and planter pots look like garbage holders. Giant holes in the hall carpets. Halls, doors and door frames need painted. They ruined the area around the "Sunday Haus" cottages by removing the serene green space that was in front of them. They should have kept the green spaces between the different areas. Boogers on the bed coverlets. No microwave in room or even available.

4 STARS! Such nice people when you speak to them. You may need to leave a message for their event hall staff and you may need to follow up call if you don't hear back within two days but when you do speak to them they are super super nice and will work with your venue needs. Their prices are average for party rooms. The event center rooms are nice and clean.

The resort is dated but not by light years. It boast a 1995 look. Go during the holidays because the decor and Christmas lights are beautiful. The rooms are similar to what you would find in a Motel 6, clean, simple and affordable. We rented two queen bed rooms at $89 per night, a black Friday special! I also tried out their Sunday houses which is a one room cottage. The privacy is nice and the rooms are super clean. The restrooms are also clean and feature the 1995 esq look.

The landscaping and walking trails are beautiful. The pool is nice and the hot tub stays hot. The practice putting green is cool. Their are fire pits around and lit during the night. This is a great place to hang out with the family while touring around the Texas Hill Country. Enjoy!

Decent grounds are about all you'll get unless you get into a condo. DO NOT STAY IN "HOTEL"!!! Rooms are like a beat up motel 6. Very little in way of room amenities. Grounds are pleasant but I'm not sleeping outside and the hotel does not think you'll be doing anything in your room except sleeping--but you won't be doing that if your AC breaks like ours did. Staff knows problems but schluffs them off--lack of genuine customer appreciation. Thinks like they are only game in town. Go rent a condo or a house off air bob instead. Worth extra money--never returning.
