Solid food and a great value! I got the lemon chicken combo - which came with hot and sour soup, 2 cream cheese wontons, and ham fried rice. The portion size of the chicken was huge! Definitely enough for two. I was able to eat my leftovers for lunch the next day. The chicken did have a good amount of breading, almost a little too much for my taste, but I still enjoyed it.
The soup and cream cheese wontons were good, as was the rice. It definitely fulfilled my craving and I'd recommend trying them out!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 1361221Nov 21, 2022
We went there to dine but it was temporarily closed for dining. But the ambience was not very vibrant as it is.
The food has excess of soy sauce and was average at best. We ordered chicken fried rice and lo mein.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 10, 2022
Very delicious Chinese food. This is probably my new favorite to go Chinese food. It was a movie night for my sisters and I and we craved something like this, found this new restaurant through door dash and said hey why not let's try something new. By the time it was delivered it was still hot and so good. Their orange chicken is great, and so is their wontons. Hot and sour soup was on point too.

I have been seeking Utah's best scallion pancakes to compare with my favorite Chinese restaurant back in Virginia. While Szechuan Garden's feature lovely, crisp edges, they were not absolute winners owing to gummy centers and lack of dip my (the aforementioned rendition included a spicy curry dip...not traditional, perhaps, but perfection). In future, I would request some sort of condiment when ordering, but thankfully, I had homemade chili crisp oil, and that sufficed.
The wonton soup had great flavor and broth, nearing too salty, but not. I wished there were more vegetables, so would recommend an added order of steamed veggies, but otherwise it was great.
I was excited to try their house special tea smoked duck, and was quite satisfied. The duck was not too greasy (as that meat can often be), though the dish, specifically the sauce, was oily. Because the entrée is replete with fresh crunchy vegetables, it felt balanced enough that I did not feel too guilty eating it.
My husband had sesame beef, a basic interpretation with slightly soggy breading in mildly sweet sauce. They also provided complimentary crispity crunchy cream cheese wontons with sweet and sour sauce, and I ended up liking them more than some of the actual food we ordered!
Service was quick and friendly on the phone, and the order took about 45 minutes to be prepared which seemed long, but that might just be me. I arrived right at the 45-minute mark, and everything was bagged, ready to go. This was a few months back, and at the time, due to COVID, they had the dining area closed off and were offering takeout only, so verify what the current status is.
Lastly, the total seemed a bit high initially, but when I picked up my order, it felt like thirty pounds! Portions are incredibly generous, and this ended up being enough for over four adult meals. I am still on the search for a new favorite local Chinese eatery, but until then, this is nearby, and will suffice when those cravings hit.Helpful 34Thanks 0Love this 34Oh no 0 - Natalie J.Salt Lake City, UT52Jan 14, 2023
This place is delicious!! Great price and service too. We had the beef broccoli, sesame chicken, lo mein, and cream cheese wontons. Highly recommend! Indoor dining was temporarily closed, so we got takeout.

Horrible!
No flavor at all. Except for the grease.
We ordered white rice to go with our dinner, we didn't get it.
We ordered house mustard, we didn't get it.
Soup was weird.
It went in the garbage.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris L.Salt Lake City, UT06Dec 2, 2022
Food was great and portions were generous, highly recommended. We ordered delivery but look forward to going to the restaurant.

We had a really nice experience trying out Szechuan Garden. We had heard great reviews and decided to try them out for ourselves. My personal favorite was the egg foo yung. Flavorful, loaded with bean sprouts and veggies. I can't remember if we ordered general tso's chicken or Szechuan chicken, but it was really nice. My kids gobbled that up first, along with the fried rice. The chicken chow mein was very flavorful and the veggies were nice and crisp. I felt like it had just a splash too much oil, but when combined with the other dishes it wasn't as noticeable. I will ask for light oil next time. No big deal.
While we are living through a pandemic, I think their level of customer care is commendable, and worthy of recognition. The restaurant was seriously immaculate. Clean as can be. They required people to wear masks, they had us stay distanced by the door when we came in for our food, they offered hand sanitizer, and were cleaning all their pens for their patrons to use. Like I said, commendable.
They're going out of their way to ensure that our food is cooked in a safe environment, and I found it all to be very impressive especially while we're dealing with such a contagious virus.
For them to show that level of customer care has prompted me to give them an extra star.
We will be back! Thanks!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 9, 2021
Ordered from Door Dash. Food was packed well, no leaks and food was hot. Everything was delicious. Especially the authentic non-American Chinese food, the braised beef in chili broth was amazing, lots of Szechuan peppercorns, my mouth was numb. This was what I was craving. Chengdu spicy chicken and the green beans were great as well. Rice was good, flavorful and not dry.
