Supreme Jewelers

I have had, not one, but two NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES with Supreme Jewelers, (both involving very simple watch services) in which the service people were either unskilled, haphazard, or plain lazy. In the first instance, I had a battery installed in a Casio G-shock. Simple, right? So I'm wearing it the next day and the entire back of the watch body comes off because they have forgotten to screw it back on. I returned to the store - extremely inconvenient - and sure enough, there were the four screws still sitting in the plastic tray.

I decided to give them another chance and took my Invicta in to have the bracelet sized for my wrist. Picked it up yesterday and wore it to work today. As I was sitting at this computer working, the watch falls off of my wrist. What the f--K! I look at it, and a pin is missing (one of the ones that holds the bracelet to the watch case. Seriously???? The pin on the other side is protruding as well. All I could think is "What if this had fallen off somewhere else? I may have lost this watch."

I say, if you want good service, this place is a toss-up. Good luck, but they won't be getting my business again.

Ok, they can be pricy, but isn't every real jewelery store?? Moreover, their service is OVER THE TOP!

The staff will get to know you by name, they will repair any item you purchased from them almost on the spot, and I don't feel very pressured. They are trustworthy and honest.

Furthermore, they have a great selection of fine earrings and rings with fair prices. Supreme Jewelers makes me feel comfortable. I'm glad they are my neighborhood jeweler.

Supreme came highly-HIGHLY recommended from a family member. They have been going to Michael for years. I'm afraid to say they very possibly have been paying more than they need to for their jewelry for a long time.

Oh, the advantages of the internet. After every visit, I would price check the products online and found everything to be 10-20% cheaper at Blue Nile and similar sites. When I finally found the ring I wanted at a different jeweler, their prices were right in line with comparable product online.

Supreme Jewelers is the best of the best--A "real' jewelry store easily differentiated from the chains (or the internet!)
Extremely competent sales people-- the highest end inventory-- and terrific, personal customer service. Long term presence in the community and equally long term clientele. You get what you pay for!

These guys are consistently great at helping me find things my wife will like. If you want an old school relationship with a jeweler, try these guys.

My family has been doing business with Supreme Jewelers for 40 years. They have above and beyond service and I still use them for my needs even though I have moved across the country. My parent's bought gifts for each other and for my brother and I as we grew up. I got my wedding rings from Supreme. I consider Michael my family jeweler and family friend. I would recommend them if you want quality service and jewelry.

This place was excellent. Took in some jewelry for repair and they were excellent. Their pieces are fantastic and the staff is awesome. Two thumbs up.

I have been to many places to get batteries for my watches this place is absolutely disgusting, I dropped my watches off at 11am and at 430pm they were not ready I totally understand if the place was busy but it was not and to add more insult the workers were just sitting around talking and laughing as if though they were at home and didn't want to be disturbed whoever the owner is he or she has incompetent lousy and lazy workers , the owner(s) judgement should be questioned and should be a concern to anyone who shops there , it was just completely disgusting! I wouldn't give this place any stars but it's the only way I could post this review

I have been in here a couple of times, most recently to have the batteries changed on a bunch of watches. They apparently are competent, as they replaced the batteries perfectly well. However they just have a bit of an attitude problem. Every time I have walked in I am greeted by a dead stare. In terms of interactions it seems like I am almost a burden or an intrusion on them, like they are going out of their way to help me. I really like to patronize local businesses but part of the reason that I do is that is is normally a friendly interaction but I don't get that here. Anyway the prices and the job they did were fine. They also didn't bother to call me when the items were ready. I might come here again but only because I don't want everything in Hyde Park to go out of business.

I'm glad that I did not see Johnny B.'s review before I visited Supreme Jewelers. I went there on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Hyde Park. She called it "a real jewelry store" and she was right. Even though I live in Lincoln Park, I find the selection and service at Supreme to be well worth the drive. I have found things there that I had been unable to find in other stores. I think their prices are average and their goods above average. They stand behind their merchandise and offer any service you might need.
