Hands down one of the most rundown 'newly renovated' motels I've ever seen. I had to stay in a smoking room as ' it's the only clean one right now ' The 3 am Spanish music blasting outside my window was an interesting touch, as were the cockroaches. The one star is for the young lady who brought me clean towels- as the room had none when I got there - and a clean blanket that didn't reek of smoke and wasn't dirty and full of burn holes. Wyndham really needs to step it up and have some pride in their properties!

Reserved non-smoking room online. When we arrived, specifically asked again if it was nonsmoking, and they said yes. Room smelled disgusting- immediately requested money back and left! Don't stay!

Don't! Just don't! This Super 8 is super nasty. Mold, dirty toilets upon arrival. The receptionist was folding "clean" linens on the lobby floor. Worst experience. If I could choose less than 1 star I would.

Whyndam has their name on this and I was horrified at the room I was given. They gave me a room I had to walk a country mile to even get to after I specifically asked for a room I could get to easily because we had someone on a walker with us and a service dog. Then we got in the room it was filthy. I found a pair of someone elses nasty undies behind the bathroom door as I sat down to use the restroom. I was freaking over that when I saw the roach I had to keep from carrying my service dog off. After I finally grabbed a saddle from the car and rode it into submission and killed it. I called the front desk and they acted as if I was crazy. Nope I have pics. I want my money and I am out of here. I won't let my sercive animal stay here let alone my family.
Then I spent the next half hour on the phone with Wyndham filing a complaint. Then to super 8 filing a complaint. STAY CLEAR!!!! If I didn't have to press something to post this I wouldn't even give it a 1 starHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Becky C.San Francisco, CA01Sep 24, 2022
Do not book there. I made my reservation and received an email confirming then 3 days got a text from there saying room cancelled due to overbooking. This was not my error it was there's. I was very disappointed the lack of care. It's was like oh well too bad for you.

Stayed here on two occasions due to having two business appointments on E. Stone Drive. The property itself is not bad at all. Located adjacent to Dollar General and residential space, its a little tucked away and off the road at an awkward angle in between E. Stone Drive and Lynn Garden. When you exit Stone, you have to make a sharp U-turn almost into the Dollar General parking lot to access Super 8.
The room itself isn't bad. Its not new, yet not terribly old. You can tell that the furniture is slightly dated. I stayed on the second floor within the rear of the property, which allowed for greater privacy. There is plenty of parking, and the WiFi speed was good. Breakfast is pretty much coffee, juice, waffles, cereal and toast/cinnamon bun items. The rate was reasonable at $65. Given its location and the winter storms that shut down access into both Bristol and Johnson City, I considered the room rate to be good at the times of my stay.
I greatly appreciated the customer service given by the employees, in addition to the GM, Mr. Jeff Pecor. He really looks out for the guests. While he has staff that completes regular housekeeping & night audit duties, it was welcoming to see him assist his staff members by shoveling snow while also engaging guests in a friendly manner. One very professional GM that I appreciate.
Overall, I would rate this property a 3.5, yet Yelp won't let me do that. I hope that they could get a few more breakfast items rather than having the bare minimum continental breakfast standards. The rooms aren't bad, yet could be better. While there are other hotel/motel options further down the road (i.e, Red Roof Inn) as well as into Kingsport, this Super 8 is an okay option if you want to stay close to the main hospital area (1 mile away) as well as main shopping access that you would find on E. Stone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Linda H.Syracuse, NY05Jul 7, 2021
Do I really have to give a Star???
The rooms smell like an ashtray, probably because of the parking lot being littered with butts! We had to buy a scented candle to burn to tolerate it!
Not that I would want to use the microwave but I question the last time that was cleaned.
And one room key when you knew there were two of us? Here's the "fun" part!! The floor hadn't been washed in forever, as the white wash cloth turned black when I wiped up some water that had splashed in front of the sink, and I have pictures as evidence!
AND...we were "evicted" after the second day of our stay following a disagreement with the front desk, as housekeeping didn't clean our room and we had no clean towels. I guess the low price of this place says it all...just not worth it...especially when local police were there twice in the 2 days we were there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott W.Ashland, KY0163155Jun 16, 2017
The Good: My room was clean, but it didn't have a clean feel ... if you know what I mean. My bed was comfortable, air was cool (not cold), & the shower was hot. Room did have a fridge & microwave. Excellent customer service.
The Not-So-Good: Hotel is very out-dated. Yes, they have slapped fresh paint on the walls, but hotel needs serious renovation (see my pics). No iron & ironing board.
The Ugly: NO ELEVATOR! Also, when I jumped in the shower & unfolded my washcloth, I noticed that it had brown stains on it. Was it ever washed? Idk.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 1, 2019
We stayed here two nights for free using Wyandwm rewards points. It's a strange entrance as you go in by the dollar store next door. All rooms have an outside entrance and of course they put us on the top 3rd floor and there was no elevator. The room was ok but z little beat up and well worn from previous guest. It is pet friendly with additional charge of $15 per night for upto 2 pets. Breakfast included cereal toast and waffles. The location is close to downtown and the farmers market.

The room was good sized, the bed comfortable, and the staff helpful. The hotel is a bit old and shows its age, but that's to be expected at a budget hotel chain.
However, there were two issues that made me regret coming to this Super 8. First, the room had a strong chemical smell. Even after I left the room door open for about an hour following my arrival, the smell remained noticeable and unpleasant. (The source of the chemical smell was the liquid used for mopping the floors, a fact I realized later when I went to the lobby while they were mopping down that floor.) Second, the curtain on the front window wasn't quite wide enough to extend all the way across. As a result, even after the curtain was drawn, someone walking by outside could conceivably see part of the room's interior if they chanced to look from a certain angle. I didn't think this was likely to happen but, nevertheless, was unhappy the possibility was there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
