Sunflower Boutique

I really like to support local non chain businesses and was happy to see a new fashion re-sale boutique open in the area. I visited the store on Monday to see what items they sell. They take clothing until 5 pm and give you 35% and pay you upfront. I normally take my items to another local consignment store but really liked the idea of getting payment upfront instead of waiting a few weeks.

I did feel their items were a little low-end but decent enough for a re-sale store. I had recently cleaned out my closets and later that day around 4pm I brought in two large bins full of brand name clothes (about 120 items, 80% had price tags still on them - Brand New or worn once items such as Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, DKNY, Loft, NYCO, Roxy, Victoria's Secret, Ambercrombie, Hollister, etc, etc...). I was certain that I would at least come away with $150 or more because of the quality and newness of my items. Even if they retailed priced everything between $3-5 (on the very low end) - with 35% I would walk away with $150+. Well worth it to me.

The young lady at the counter was obviously not comfortable pricing my items , even stated so and tried calling her mother several times without any luck. I didn't want to pressure the young lady and not receive the correct pricing for my items. Eventually we settled that I would leave the bins and her mother (the owner) would call me when they went through everything.

On Wednesday am, I received a vm that they would offer me $32.00! I thought surely there was a mistake and went into the store today. The not so friendly woman at the counter said that her granddaughter went through the items and handed me an envelope with $32! This is the same young lady who didn't feel comfortable with pricing on Monday. I was floored and very disappointed. I made more with only 4 items at another local consignment boutique. I ended up taking everything back with me - so not worth it.

Unfortunately, with the lack in customer service and the pricing they offer, I doubt they will be in business much longer - the newness of it will wear off. I really wanted to like this store and thought it would be a great new business where I could bring items in. However, I would make 10x more selling on Ebay - even with the fees. Sadly, I will not be coming back and will not be recommending Sunflower Boutique.

Less than friendly customer service. I bought a skirt and tried to make conversation with the owner (I think she is--she's tatted up) and she was not engaging or cordial. No thank you for my purchase. I will not be returning.

I've gone in the sunflower boutique several times. The young lady that works behind he counter could use a course in customer service or at least smiling 101. She seemed miserable to be there. Every time I go in, I am hoping to find a little something new to take home....but the clothing is geared to those 22 and younger. No name brands, just cheap resale items. Short cut off jean shorts, tattered tube tops, and an array of faded t-shirts. I think the young lady behind the counter must do all the purchasing, and therefore pick items she would wear. I don't think this store will be in business long, if they don't consider that everyone in temecula isn't 17, and some of us enjoy wearing quality clothing, not the resale of the final sale rack from Khols.

Terrible customer service!! Went there tonight, the girl working there did not greet me when I walked in and did not acknowledge me the whole time I was in the store and I was the only one in the store. when I walked in she looked at me then proceeded to look down at whatever she was doing in her lap and the computer the whole time I was there. I could have walked out with the whole store and she would have never even knew it. very sad because I love to support local businesses.

i have shopped there a few times and thought it was a great little shop good prices on name brand items and the people that worked there where very friendly
