In third world countries, like most of Asia, this would be considered prime cuisine. You may just need a reality check because it seems like you've been 'washed' from it. Quite accurate answer for your question, I believe.

Been coming here for a few years now and it never disappoints. I always enjoy the food and how it can be family style.
The service is always quick and easy especially when you call and order in.
The ambiance is comfy casual and you can literally just go for a lazy night out with friends when no one wants to cook.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 2023
Lunch special $10.99 comes with egg roll, tea, fried rice and shrimp with soup. There are several varieties of lunch specials as low as $8.99. You can't beat it. And they have egg foo young which is not always easy to find. The vegetables were fresh and everything came put piping hot.
Sun Moon Garden has been a Burbank staple for many years and gas survived the pandemic, fires, etc. The quality of food and the expert preparation has not changed.
The dining room is spacious, quiet and great for groups. Thank you to the owners and chefs for your dedication and to the servers for their awesome service!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - David P.Los Angeles, CA352714Nov 23, 2023
I was hoping for some old school charm and home cooking, but I have to say this was some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had.
I had the dinner special with Shrimp Egg Foo Young, and the omelette part was simply inedible. Crusty and burnt on the outside, gross inside. The shrimp and veggies on top were "okay" and the only passable part of the meal.
The "fried rice" was literally just fried rice, no egg, veggies or any sort of meat.
My wife didn't fare much better with her Sweet & Sour Pork lunch special.
I suppose I shouldn't have expected much for the price, but I swear the food a those "steam table" Chinese fast food places are better than this.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 4 - Sandra D.Channel Islands, Oxnard, CA05May 18, 2024
I went here Wednesday evening and had shrimp with snow peas, white rice and tea. I have had the taste of jasmine tea in my mouth for the last 4 days. I truly believe there is something added to the tea. The smell and taste won't leave my mouth. It was like I was drinking perfume. Has anyone had this issue?

Had dinner here today . This is not a fancy place by any means but the food is good. We ordered the small wonton soup, and the honey walnut shrimp with white rice. Everything was good and tasty. Large portions, enough for 2 people to share and get full. The only thing is , I felt a little bit of a Clorox smell from the soup bowl that bothered me. Service was fast and good too. I will go back here . They give complementary green tea . There's a parking lot with plenty of space to park . Reasonable prices too

Great little restaurant there was a lot of traffic on the freeway, so I decided to pull over and grab a bite to eat when I drove past Sun Moon Garden. I pulled over and luckily found a parking spot, which honestly the parking lot isn't all that great. However, I quickly learned that it's because of how popular this place is. I walked in alone looking for a table for one and it truly was a full house, I was thankfully quickly seated and tended to.
It is ran by only a few people, however the service is friendly, fast, and the quality of the food is amazing.
I ordered the pork fried rice and cream cheese wontons which were both phenomenal. I am picky with my fried rice however, this place has some of the BEST fried rice that I've tried. They also bring teat to your tale which was nice because this was a particularly cold night.
Overall, great place to eat at and based on just how busy they were, I'm sure everyone in the area already knows it. Will definitely be stopping on my road trips again !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 22, 2024
This is our go-to place for Chinese food! You can get combination dinners with soup, large fried shrimp and egg roll with your combination dinner that also comes with fried rice and choice of entree, all for $10.98! That's a lot of food! Great service, great atmosphere

Had a taste for Chinese food. This place is near my home. I ordered Mongolian beef and broccoli. I asked for one special request to only have the florettes of the broccoli Once I placed my order online they called me immediately a lady in a very aggressive tone told me that she could not cut the stems off and do I want it or not, I really wanted the Chinese food so I said OK, Miss fine I will do it myself. It came with rice and fried shrimp and an eggroll. The eggroll and the shrimp was burnt. The shrimp was flatter than a pancake. It was more hard crust than it was shrimp, they give you an abundance of rice. The rice was very light, so it was good. I don't know why they couldn't cut the stems off of my broccoli, considering it wasn't very many pieces of broccoli in the order at all it had a good sauce, Mongolian beef it's supposed to be tender, I don't know if to say over tender makes sense that something was very weird about it and the meat was super thin and I feel like I would like to try something else there. I'm not sure, my husband ate the shrimp and the eggroll to burnt for me And I did eat the rest of it. I think they are worth another try.

Supposedly this is their Crackerjack Crispy Fish. Nothing crispy about it. When I asked the server why it wasn't crispy, her response was "yes, it's soft. It's not crispy."
So why the heck is it called Crackerjack Crispy Fish????
Here's a tip for you.. CHANGE THE NAME! Or maybe actually make it crispy and put the sauce on the side.
I wonder if the eggrolls on the menu are crispy or soggy? From my experience, this is a legitimate question
Edit: after not eating the so-called crispy Fish, the server had the nerve to ask if I didn't eat it because I didn't like it. I couldn't hold it in anymore, and I had to explain to her what the word crispy meantHelpful 0Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 2 - Rachel J.Burbank, CA289Jan 16, 2024
So this place is small hole
In wall, low staff so don't expect every table to be cleared! But the food was amazing!!! Prices incomparable and service was good for how busy and how low staffed they are! Seemed maybe family run! If you're not too picky about locations this is the Jam! Definitely going back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
