SITREP

While on a lunch breaks from my East L.A. Regional Office, it was nice walking into this store a few times to see the festive *livery* that was on sale.

THE SETUP

Located in Monterey Park, Sugar Kiss Boutique is set amid a busy little East L.A. neighborhood full of taquerias, other stores, a beautiful Cathedral, and lots of tamale stops.

I in fact grabbed a couple of tamales, and was munching my way around the barrio, enjoying the "local flavor" that was present in colorful & abundant supply here. [The ladies patronizing this establishment were indeed fun to flirt with.]

CLOTHING

The fashions here were indeed elegant and not at all expensive.

The costume jewelry items and scarves were in particular the best deals!

THE LOWDOWN

A great clothing & accessory stop in East L.A.!

I love this store. The clothes is high quality for the price, the décor is awesome and the owner always gives me helpful styling tips. Will definitely be stopping by again soon.

I have been shopping here since this place opened. I can always fnd something to love at this store. The owner is a lovely person. Ask for her opinion on a combination or choice and she will never steer you wrong.

I have been shopping here since my early twenties and now that I am in my thirties I can still find great tasteful finds without dressing too "young".

It's a small boutique store and it seems like everything is on sale.

It's cute stuff but meant mostly for junior sizes.

Parking is around the corner. It's a bit hood.

I figure I'd rather go directly to the alley in the fashion district then here.

This store has some cute stuff- can be pricey for the quality, but cute overall. My biggest issue with the store is that when I take time from work to go and look around (I don't live in the area) but work nearby- they are never open. This has happened to me several times- the sign says open Monday-Friday 11a-7pm, I have arrived between11:30 am - 12 p and they are closed. This is so irritating and unprofessional- the parking is also inconvenient because only street parking on Cesar Chavez- I may go back, I really don't know yet!! if you plan to go CALL FIRST to make sure they are open before you waste your time and gas!!

This boutique is a gem of East L.A. I love the clothes and it's 1/2 what you would spend in Old Town Pas, but still funky and unique. I go at least once a month to check out what's new in clothes, dresses, jewelry, belts etc. The owner is super stylish and down to earth, and it's a GREAT WAY to support local businesses in East L.A!

I love shopping at little boutiques and this one has lots of selections (party dresses), I'm always looking for versatile styles (dress up or down) because I like to dress good for work and they had lots of selections but sometimes only the small sizes are left, the owner explained that they only bring one L size dress and on certain designers brands L is like a medium so you get the idea; I'll try to visit at least every other weekend maybe on Saturdays after breakfast at Moles La Tia. Overall I enjoyed the
experience and bought a nice Collective Concepts dress on sale and a pretty belt as well on sale. Stop by you'll like the selection and prices.

I stopped by in here this afternoon because I needed a birthday gift for a friend and thought this would be the perfect place to find something stylish and affordable. I saw a dress on the window that I thought would fit perfectly for my friend's style. I walked in and there were 2 girls talking (who i assume are salesperson and cashier). I said hello and no response, I figured they were too busy with their conversation about biology books to pay any attention to a "ready to buy" customer. I looked around for about 10 minutes and neither girl bothered to say anything. They seemed too busy talking about their day to even attempt to help me. I am not stopping by here again!! They dont even have parking!!! I had to struggle to find street parking. Dont waste your time here, they wont even try to sale you or show you any items!
