Mrs. Sue and her staff are hands-down the best place I've ever had my dogs stay! We had a family emergency and our dogs ended up being there much longer term than anticipated. The staff is loving, care and amazing! They truly care about their jobs and the animals that they take care of. Usually when they board my dogs come home super stressed out and have lost weight. Staying with Mrs. Sue and her staff - everyone came home happy and healthy! It was amazing! I'll never board the dogs anywhere else again!
Thank you Mrs. Sue and your staff for being so gracious, compassionate, caring and professional to our family and our fur babies! We will never be able to say enough good thinks, thanks and appreciation for you all!

We were visiting Santee and needed somewhere to keep our dog so we could go to the Zoo. Called Sue and she told me the setup. My dog is not a doggy daycare type of dog. He just wants to lay in a crate and be left alone. In fact, a doggy daycare downtown rejected him on a previous trip because they are an everybody-in-the-playground kind of place. So while this wasn't his favorite scenario, being in a room with other sometimes barking dogs, he was alone in his own dog run, with his blanket, with no overfriendly dogs trying to make him act like a normal dog and be okay with them up in his grill. We dropped him off and off we went to see some animals .. At the end of the day we left the zoo in time to be back by closing time per Google maps, but had to call on the way because of the infamous traffic (we had no idea it was that bad). They stayed open for us to pick him up, and we had a nice chat when we arrived. Our pooch was happy and healthy and we had a great day. The price was a bargain, and so that afforded me to give the young lady who helped us at pickup a healthy tip. Whenever we are in the area, we will definitely use this business to babysit our boy when needed.

I have been a customer of Su-et's for about 6 years. They first cared for my aging Rat Terrier, Toots and now for my rambunctious Standard Goldendoodle, Farley. Let me preface my review by saying that I grew up in a family that raised cocker spaniels for show in the 70's and 80's and we had a small kennel of our own. My parents later owned a successful boarding kennel in Florida. Their philosophy was that they had a "warm heart for cold noses." When I walked into Su-et's 6 years ago, I immediately felt at home. Is it fancy? No. Are there individual TV's for your dog? No. Is there a pool out back for hydrotherapy? No. Does your dog need any of those things? No! Your dog needs a clean space to eat and sleep, some exercise, some attention and love. Will you get these things at Su-Et's? Yes, yes and yes! You are also getting an owner of a business that has years of experience. I never worry about Farley when I leave him in Sue's care and you shouldn't worry either!

As far as grooming and genuinely caring for my scottie, this place is awesome. They know what they are doing and have always been spot on with advice as far as the health of my dog's skin. I've tried other groomers that did not know how to properly groom a scottie and actually burned his skin with chemicals from unnecessary flea dips. Turns out he didn't have fleas, but rather allergies.

My first Scottie was from Suets. My friend died and I took over that Scottie...That was how I came to know of this business. one was that 1st Scottie....have had 5 Scotties now and the best a Suets Scottie!I I have had nothing but good experiences with them. Do not let the bad review on here sway you! He is wrong.....and sounds like he is out to get Sue....She has taken care....and good care of my dogs over extended time. I am forever grateful for her and her kind staff!
Rest assurred your dogs will be well cared for at Suets!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Benjamin A.Santee, CA211812Feb 19, 2019
We've been boarding our dog here occasionally over the past few years with no complaints at all. The place definitely isn't fancy and doesn't have pet cameras or anything like that, but it is reasonable, safe, relatively clean, and Sue and the staff are friendly. For 20 bucks a day or so, it's a bargain. I hear of other places charging triple the amount, including manipulation of the days/times where dropping off one day, and picking up the next at the same time can count as two days. None of that nonsense here. Would recommend, unless cost is no issue and you desire pet cameras (which is pretty cool as well, but I'm not willing to pay for...).

These gals do a fabulous job with miniature schnauzers, too! My poor baby has a lot of skin allergies, so a standard schnauzer cut just won't work--he needs to be much shorter in the summer so I can check his skin frequently and get medicine where it needs to go. Su-Et's does a great job of accommodating his issues by using hypoallergenic products and clipping him short enough that his skin stays healthy yet still leaves him looking like a schnauzer. For dogs without his issues, their cuts look show quality.

I have boarded my dog here and have found the staff very competent and caring with a genuine love of animals. I have never picked up my dog and he hasn't been clean, playful and in good health. In fact when I take him there he gets excited about going in and I leave comfortable knowing he will be well cared for.
I found the previous review nasty and judgmental with a huge tinge of elitism.
True there are no plush couches, air conditioned rooms with 24 hour videos. It is an old facility, busy with many dogs for grooming and may have been cluttered and unkempt during the busy hours but there seems to be a genuine love for the animals. Try going in the early afternoon or a weekend before unloading such anger at these animal lovers. PS, I was referred there by a rescue group.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Real H.San Diego, CA525Nov 2, 2015
Took my little olive scottie here for a little vacation and her her first groom. She came home with a fresh look and was happy. Place was full of many other scotties and westies. Overnight stays are very reasonable and her cut is super cute. I like to give my business to mom and pop places, not big chain places. This will be her little vacation place from now on!

I absolutely love that I know my dog is getting the proper grooming for his breed. I have Norwich terrier who needs to be hand stripped. Before I found Su-Et's kennels, I took him to a groomer who claimed to do hand stripping, but he came home scissor clipped instead, which made his hair grow softer and lose the wiry protection his hair should provide (and also made him lose his beautiful red coloring). I am so glad I found Su-Et's because she was able to save his coat. She has now hand stripped his coat three times. When I pick him up, he looks great. Because she actually hand strips and knows what she's doing his coat comes in looking red and shiny and has the wire texture it should. He looks like a show dog. I drive from Carlsbad to Santee, which is about an hour, because Su-Et's is the only place I trust with my Norwich.
