The staff at Studio One is amazing! They set the level of customer service to an all time high! The level of professionalism and expertise was exciting and reassuring when I first started doing Pilates years ago. They opened my eyes to a whole new way to exercise and a deeper awareness of my body and what it is capable of.
Thank you guys for a fantastic experience! I love referring people to you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chelsea G.Anchorage, AK25173135Jul 23, 2020Updated review
Update: Ana reached out to me and issued me a refund. I didn't think to ask for a refund because it states that the packages are non refundable when purchasing, but I am happy that she remedied my situation. I thought I would update my review to reflect her positive customer service and although I would have loved to use the package she made it right.
I purchased a class package last year after having a baby and having had a lot of Pilates experience I was really disappointed to find that I couldn't attend certain classes unless I had attended their basic classes first. Normally that wouldn't have been an issue but they only offered those classes at a certain time of day and it was only offered one day a week and I was not able to attend. When covid 19 hit they obviously closed but now they are requiring customers buy and bring their own equipment. I wish I wouldn't have bought a package with this studio as now I have spent $200+ on classes I will never use.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello Chelsea,
Yes, typically punchcard packages are non-refundable. We do our best to be flexible depending on circumstances and are trying to reach out to clients during Covid-19 as folks have different needs during this time we are doing our best to accommodate so I am glad I was able to get in touch with you sort it out.
Our apologies for not communicating the classes and recommendations clearly to you from the start of your time at studio one. If you ever choose to rejoin studio one at a later time I would like to let you know that you are not required to do the beginners method! We strongly recommend it because we are really cautious with clients so there are no injuries and so you are learning the basics with other new clients in a no pressure, learning environment. You are welcome to go to any class you would like at any stage in your learning. I am sorry you didn't get to experience that!
Regarding brining your own equipment, I apologize here too and it is not our preference but it is a city/state mandate designed to help decrease the transmission of covid. We recommend a minimal amount of equipment (a mat is all you need) if you have a ball and a towel for under your head that helps too.
take care, thanks for your time

Looking to lose inches? Want to feel more fit? Hate gyms? Pilates and Studio One may just be the thing for you. You won't necessarily work up a sweat, but it will definitely be a challenging workout and you will certainly feel it the next day.
The instructors and owners are super friendly and nice. There is never a need to feel embarrassed or uncertain of what to do here. The instructors will help you every step of the way and everyone takes care of the newbies.
The free intro class on Saturdays is a great and easy way to get introduced to everything about pilates and Studio One.
I'm totally a fan of pilates now. I wasn't even looking to lose weight or inches, but I grew 1/2 an inch and lost several inches off my waist in less than a month.
There's lots of classes to choose from and they regularly have special classes and special deals and discounts.
So come on down and check out Studio One. You won't regret it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brandi G.Anchorage, AK737456Apr 18, 2019
I signed up for their free Pilates 101 class to go with my sister, I'm not a huge fan of exercise classes but went to support her. I highly recommend this place in the intro they educated us on our muscles we we ours be working and would demonstrate the and then have the class try walking around helping as needed. This helped me to feel comfortable in what I was doing and in the studio.

Pilates has always been one of my favorite workouts, and Studio One provides a wonderful outlet for it in Anchorage! The prices are fantastic, AT MOST you're paying $25 for a small group class, but usually they have sales or promos going on that allow you to budget even further. If you are a member or regular attendee then you get to attend 30-ish minute cardio burst classes for free, which are tons of fun and a great way to supplement your pilates classes. The instructors are all friendly and knowledgeable. If you even remotely think you'd like to check out pilates, Studio One is a low commitment and fun way to do it.

Ana got in touch with me to let me know she will review a request for change of annual contract even if we miss the 30 day notice. This is the type of transparent and generous service I have seen in Studio One's delivery of pilates instruction and consideration for clients, now also available in its business practices. Thank you, Ana and Studio One.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 12, 2019Previous reviewThe studio has uniquely qualified, attentive instructors. The space is lovely. Just be sure to read the fine print of your contract. If you purchase a year's membership, and if you fail to contact them 30 days before the end of the year, you will automatically be charged for one full year. You read that right. One full year renewal if you fail to notify them of your intent to end your yearly prepaid membership.
In my case, my intention was to buy individual classes. They have some good sales from time to time. I wanted the flexibility to spend my workout dollars by continuing with Studio One but to purchase additional classes at yoga studios and gyms. That will now wait a year. Please don't let this happen to you. If you decide to end an annual membership you may inform them at any time, but make it prior to 30 days before the renewal date, or you will have a 12 month charge on your card. - Jacklyn F.Signal Hill, CA350270903Mar 31, 2016
I was a member of this gym in 2014 and I just wanted to say that since I've left AK, I've thought about this place a lot. This is the only pilates studio that teaches correct form & really explains the method to you while trying to lengthen & strengthen your body. The studioI belong to now does not teach correct form & my back pays the price for it. To all who are members here.. I envy you & miss this place so much!

Studio one has a nice atmosphere and great instructors. Results can definitely be seen and felt if you put in the work!
My one complaint about the studio is the schedule. It does not accommodate those who like late evening classes. The latest class is usually at 6:30pm on weekdays. I would love a 7 or 8 o'clock option everyday! Also, the studio does not offer regular afternoon or evening classes on Saturdays or ANY classes on Sundays! It really feels like the schedule caters to an older crowd.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan V.Glendale, CA202110Dec 30, 2016
Wonderful customer service. Wonderful services in general. The environment is very warm and inviting year round. You will look good and feel phenomenal after visiting the studio!

Studio One Pilates is an amazing place! I first came to Studio One after years of back pain resulting from various athletic injuries and car accidents. I started of by going to the Back and Body boot camp was three nights a week for 5 weeks. It was like nothing i had ever tried. It was all about breathing and connecting your body and using muscles I didn't even know existed.
Everyone there is absolutely amazing. Paul (the owner) is great and very knowledgeable, which is good for those of you who have injuries or pain and want to know how to not. The Rolfers (I saw Ed and Eric) are top notch and 10 sessions with them (while expensive) will help put your body back together again. Then of course there are the instructors, each one with their own unique and wonderful personalities. Jenni, Jamie, and Jessica S. are the three ladies who never fail to kick my butt and make me laugh at the same time. Honestly, a huge draw to this studio is the people.
I was definitely resistant to the whole Pilates thing, but now, almost a year and half later, consider me a convert and fan! I love it. I did three boot camps back-to-back and then transitioned to the core and level one matt classes, and now I do level two classes about three times a week, and I I'm definitely in the best shape I've been since I was a top athlete as a teen; with the help of Pilates, the gym, and eating healthy I have already lost 30 pounds. The strength and flexibility I have gained from Pilates has allowed me to get back into sports. I'm now able to go cross-country skiing, play hockey, run, etc. I still have a ways to go, and Studio One is helping me reach my goals.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
