We woke up hungry for some gyros and found this place which was within walking distance of our airbnb.
They cook everything fresh to order.
The gyros were really good: the meat was crispy, sauce was nice and salty and refreshing, and the pita was fried to perfection. Plus the portion sizes were well worth the $9.

Another one of my go-to spots for lunch during the week. Great prices for good portions.

I usually do chicken tenders and fries. Fried well so they're super crunchy but not dry on the inside. Lately I've been hooked on their gyros. They toss it on the grill for a bit so that the edges get nice and crispy. So good. The fries here are also great; they use a good seasoning on them but if it's not your thing, if you ask them to make them plain they're still good.

The burgers are just okay to me and the hot dogs don't have that "snap", but I might have just had a bad batch. There's a bunch of other things to eat there too, pizza puffs, chicken, fish sandwiches, and other standard fried fare.

All in all, delicious and affordable greasy spoon in River North.

One of the greasiest of old-fashioned greasy spoons in Chicago. It's a hole in the wall with some tasty specials, but it's basically mediocre.

Not that impressed. I was really hoping to like this place as not a lot in the area for food for lunch during the week.

I got the two hotdog, fries and drink special. First, the dogs weren't Vienna, they were very skinny dogs. they slice the dogs vertically, I am assuming to have them cook faster. They were bland, had much better hotdogs at dozens of places.

The fries were fine, again nothing special.

The price was good for the area but nothing about the dog and fries stood out. I might go back and try something else but I doubt it.

The worst restaurant in the River North. Don't expect to get ALL your order that you pay for (they will charge and NOT include). This is the ONLY restaurant that has these businesses ethics. I order out over 35 times a month and this is my ONLY negative restaurant review. Also Mohammed, the manager doesn't understand basic hospitality and making sure customer gets what they paid for. DON'T order from Steves Place...

Stand back, here comes the grease fountain.

Steves is good once a month, bad if more. I actually got addicted to this place. I would recommend the gyro sandwiches and if you want something healthier, there's a BLT with your name on it.

Uber cheap though, grab your heart-attack-on-a-platter and jump to it. mmmmmmmmmmm

I was in the area because I was paying my Chicago corruption fee to the court house off Superior. Saw that this place had breakfast burritos recommended so I hit a bacon breakfast burrito and it was delicious!

They do not treat their loyal customer right at all. Myself and along with co workers would go here every morning for breakfast and one morning we wanted to change what was originally ordered, Muhammad didn't want to change the breakfast and said we would have to pay $1.50 for the one pancake for the new order only came with 2. Needless to say we haven't been back and it's been around 1 month. $1.50 over $10.00 a day x 3..

Typical greasy spoon! Don't expect anything "gourmet" or hip from this place. The food is good and the staff is nice. It's great for lunch when you're tired of subway or Chick-fil-A and just want a burger. Oh, and stick to the basics here! Burgers- good. Chicken tenders-good. Salad-good. I had a coworker who ordered some shrimp and let's just say she was indisposed all day...in the restroom. So yeah, stick to the basics.

OMG THIS PLACE TURNED THE WORST DAY IMAGINABLE INTO GOLD.

I keep seeing this place on my way to work and I haven't stopped there yet, UNTIL TODAY, and I was in heaven. Hole in the wall cheap, quick food. Ordered a falafel and fries, food came quick and was totally delicious. The best part, however, is that every table has FOUR different kinds of hot sauce on them. FOUR!!! I was in habanero heaven it was absolutely perfect.

I can't wait to pop in here more often to pig out without the typical bougie River North judgement. PERFECT!
