Steve's Hot Dogs On the Hill

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon about 1/2 hour before closing. I'm sure the staff didn't want us to be there but none of them showed it. Everybody was friendly, welcoming and appreciative we were there.

Gorilla Mac & Cheese with Bacon is my favorite!
But with all of the hot dog combos and the weekly specials you can never go wrong or worry about eating the same thing twice!

First time here. Many different choices of hot dog concoctions can be found here, from basics like ketchup, mustard, and onions to Mac and cheese, chili, and jalapeños....and everything in between! Owners are Star Wars fans, as us evidenced by the fun memorabilia! So, may the force be with you as you enjoy a Steve's Hot Dog on the Hill!

You can't go wrong with the Gorilla Dog. Delicious hot dogs for a great price in The Hill! Nice people that work there and quick service. Great chili dogs on the go go. Keep up the fresh ingredients and flavors will come back!

Been at this place a couple times. I say some tasty dogs.

Had the 2 dog combo: gorilla mac and famous chilli cheese dog. Combo comes with chips and drink. Man those dogs are huge. Nice all beef hot dog with the toppings of choice. They have a variety of options and also mac and cheese bowls if you don't want a dog. All in all, great place. You will eat right. Will come back and recommend

Pretty amazing hot dogs in the St. Louis area. I was visiting The Hill area and wasn't in the mood for an Italy feast, but I was intrigue with this place. They must have served over 30 kinds of hot dogs. I went for their famous hot dogs with mac and cheese on top and it was amazing! Paired with a one of their well known pops and jalapeño chips and I was in love!

This was my first time here; I absolutely loved it! The place is very divey with cool memorabilia all over the walls. They had a great selection of hot dogs (including a vegetarian dog!), chips and there was Fitz's soda. The service was fast and friendly. The woman checking me out even asked if it was my first time and when I told her yes, she gave me a punch card. (Side note: I love punch cards! I hate loyalty programs that require your email address and other personal information I do not want everyone to know).
The food itself was delicious! I had their famous man n' cheese hot dog and it was a monster! There was so much I could barely take a bite! The buns were for sure homemade and not stale of flavorless like the kind you get at the supermarket.
I would highly recommend this place was lunch or for your hot dog craving!

Always delicious...I've been a big fan for years, but I forgot about all of the StarWars memorabilia! My seven year old was so excited to see all of it! She got a Madeline- no bun, no condiments, but I ordered a bacon-bacon-Jamaican: so sick, and insanely good!! I've had the St. Louis style hyaaaaah!!! and the Al-hra-brat ski, and I'd love to try more of them, but I keep coming back to the bacon bacon Jamaican!
...they have Mac and cheese and burgers too!

Office Services (OS) at my firm decided to host a luncheon and circulated an email with Steve's Hot Dogs menu. I've heard of Steve's but has not experienced it yet. I'm not much of a hotdog aficionado, however, I wanted to give it an ole college try. I perused the menu and was intrigued by all the unique and interesting 'dog combinations. Not to mention, their mac+cheese choices. Whew, Jesus! Cheese will be the death of me, I swear...Usually held up by self-induced indecisiveness, I danced back and forth between two options before settling on the "St. Louis Style HYAAAH! Dog". Being that I'm obsessed with peppers and onions, this particular dog, I had to try.

According to the menu, you have the option between purchasing the dog, solely, or make it a combo (chips & can soda). I'm a "more bang for your buck" type of girl, so combo it was. I turned in my order and waited on the minute that I become one with this delicacy.

Per the website, when ordering for delivery, orders between 10am - 4pm, you must placed with The Hill location; Any orders for delivery after 4pm, must be sent thru the Tower Grove location. My OS colleague called in at 11am, which naturally came thru The Hill channel. Also, delieveries are only made for purchases of $50, minimum.

We were given a block of 12-12:30pm for arrival time. We received the food right at 12:30. My HYAAAH! was wrapped securedly in foil, and hot. The grilled hotdog was hugged by bacon, peppers, onions and pepper jack cheese. Not your average kid-crafted hotdog meal, for certian...Basically, it was a nice sized dog that tasted pretty good - decent at most. Not the greatest, but far from bad. The pricing for it? It sat under $8.

I didn't regret my purchase and look forward to tasting another one of Steve's creations.

Great spot on The Hill, sat outside under their umbrellas & enjoyed hotdogs the size of a meal. They came with forks & you needed them. My nephew, a tween who loves his macaroni couldn't finish his Gorilla Dog but said he loved it. The other nephew was very satisfied with an Italian sausage hot dog. My St Louis style Chicago dog was great altho' I'll admit I prefer a Chicago steamed bun over the Italian bread.
Such a beautiful day we didn't want to leave our lovely spot but we gave up our spot & went across the street to Vitalles bakery & got Butter cookies along with some Italian ice to take home for dessert later.

I didn't even take a picture of my food because I ate it so fast! My mom and I loved our orders. She had the Mac and cheese dog and I had veggie dogs. We sat in silence devouring our food. The place is small, cute and was exactly what we needed to hold ya over until dinner. I highly recommend!!
