Steak ’n Shake

I used to love this place because of the food and the hours, but I don't think I'll be going back. We went late one night and after being sat for 20 minutes our waiter, the only waiter in the restaurant, came to take our order. He left and never brought our drinks. 30 minutes later he comes to our table and tells us that he is just now putting our order in because there was an error with the computer. He never comes to check up on us, which I would have understood if they were busy but they weren't and he wasn't helping the other tables either. We finally got our food and they forgot one of our orders but we didn't care at that point. We started eating and our friend bites into his burger and claims it taste like cleaner. My boyfriend and I both tried it and it did in fact taste like cleaner. We went to check out and they tried to charge us for the drinks and burger we never received. I know late night service isn't normally great but this was the worst I've ever had.

Good manager. Went over and above. It was clean. And the food was solid. I got a burger fries and milkshake and drink.

You must use one of the 4 ordering kiosks to view the menu. Their menu is not displayed anywhere but on the kiosk ordering stations. So, if it gets busy, and the kiosks are occupied, you can not look at the menu. If your one that doesn't have a smart phone, you'll have to wait to view the options and then order. I see this as a weak link for customer service.
Fortunately, there was only myself and another customer in the restaurant at that time(5:30pm).
I ordered a bacon Swiss double combo with a large order of onion rings, and a drink. My total was a bit more than I'd expect for a cheese burger, onion rings, and a "regular" size drink...$12.06

This steak 'n Shake location is the best steak 'n Shake ever. the employees are so f**king fantastic. They're nice they're courteous they're never rude. The food is always HOT. Genuinely I wish I could give all of the employees a huge high five for being the best. We ate in there one time and the vibes were great. Eating inside a steak and shake brings back memories. If Steak N Shake Headquarters is reading this, you should give everyone at the Ellsworth Ypsilanti location a fat raise. They deserve it.

Customer service is terrible. Drive thru is way too small for bigger sized vehicles. The inside experience is trash. Not what is used to be. The nostalgia of Steak and Shake has been stripped. I mean you can't expect much but still.

The Steak 'n Shake footprint has shrunk dramatically in the past few years. Now, the closest one to my home is nearly 500 miles. It's probably been 10 years since I've been able to get to one, so it has taken on an almost talismanic dimension for me. The Steakburger and chili are as good as ever, but sadly the fries were only lukewarm, so it wasn't quite the perfect Steak 'n Shake experience I have been longing for. But it was still satisfying, and I will look forward to my next opportunity to dine here. I miss the china and table service, though. Too bad some things must pass away forever. Still, I am glad that they are still in business.

Good food and customer service, recommend. Restaurant was real cozy too and really enjoyed being there

I visited this location on a Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. and I was pleasantly surprised. The cashier was very friendly, the food prices were very reasonable for this economy, and the food quality was top-notch. My shake was just right, the burger was piping hot, and the fries were hot and crispy. My total was less than $7. I would definitely go back in the future.

I get coupons in the mail all the time for this burger place, so I thought I would give it a try. I went thru the drive thru, so cannot comment on the interior. There are burgers, chicken strips, and chili. You can get either fries or onion rings. To drink are the usual soft drinks and a large number of milk shakes. I got the double cheeseburger, fries and a Kit Kat milkshake. If you go between 2-5 PM all milkshakes are 1/2 off. Otherwise I would not get a shake, but it was excellent.
The burger was about a 5 on a 1-10 scale. It was not as tasty as some other burger establishments. The fries are thinner than other fast food restaurants but I liked them. So for less than $7, I had a pretty high calorie ic meal. I mighT not go out of my wY to go again, but the prices are good.

Whaaaaat- they call this place Steak 'n Shake? They should really call it Order 'n Leave, really I mean, they were speedy as hell. Garlic burg is always too seasoned but I knew that going in, I love it here dude.

I love Steak 'n Shake, and I enjoyed my dinner; but my order was incomplete (ordered a shake with my burger) and I felt badly for my server, who was the ONLY server last Wednesday. He was cleaning (looked like a party had just happened in the place), taking orders, and checking patrons out. The other employees behind the counter didn't seem to care nor did they seem to be team players. 3 groups arrived after us and people kept arriving after we left.
It's a shame. My husband and I were visiting from WI and had not had Steak 'n Shake in a long time. I was really looking forward to enjoying my Steak 'n Shake. Hopefully the staff will get the attention and support they need.
