Steak ’n Shake

Went thru drive thru. Ordered 3 sandwiches, one fry, and one shake. It took several minutes for the girl to understand our order.
She got all three sandwiches wrong.
Could only use cash for payment

Stopped here driving from Nashville to Springfield. Wanted a quick bit to eat but not traditional fast food.

Everyone got something different, I split the jalapeño burger and garlic burger with my wife. The kids each had a bacon burger. Everyone liked what they had especially the fries. Each kid got a shake too; chocolate and an Oreo.

The staff was very nice and friendly. The place was clean for the type of establishment it is; old school diner.

There are a ton of places to eat so not sure I would come back here again, but that's more about me wanting to try new things and less about this place not being 'worthy'..... hopefully that makes sense.

I do recommend this though.

I ordered a bowl of chili and this is what it looked like. It was halfway full and it was just chili juice, with maybe five beans inside of it. The rest was just liquid. Highly disappointed, as I was excited about being in a town that had a steak 'n Shake.

My food was made wrong the first time and they just thew the toppings on a cold sandwich the second time around

Absolutely terrible service. Rude and snarky when ordered and would cut in. The worker left their mic on while we were looking at the menu and was yelling at coworkers. Food was terrible as well and it took 20 minutes to get two burgers and two drinks. Do not recommend this place to anyone.

It looks like your cook scraped together the remnants from real burgers as he was cleaning the grill and served it to me. I am completely mortified. Your staff was horrible and rude and gave us no regard for our complaint.

I have always loved Steak and Shake. It was my go to place until recently. They no longer have table service which is understandable because of Covid. But what was I forgivable was how dirty it was inside. It was gross. Broken blind with food on the blind, filthy floor, torn seat cushions. I won't go again until it has been remodeled and cleaned thoroughly!

If I wanted to stand in line to place my order and wait for them to call me when it's ready. I would go to McDonald's.

Went here for lunch today. I got a Garlic Steakburger and Bacon Cheese fries. It came out fresh and wonderful. My grandmother ordered chicken strips with Cajun (Seasoned) Fries? Anyway, those fries were EXTREMELY seasoned. Wayyy overseasoned. Other than that it was great

Worst burger I had in Poplar Bluff. Seriously inconsiderate staff. They seated us right where this table cleaner was hanging out between tables and he was constantly invading our personal space.

I have nothing good to say about this place.
It seems like it's trying to be a diner, but it feels more like a restaurant, except the food tastes like microwave food, and the entire atmosphere looks cheap.
