Steak ’n Shake

I've been to many steak n shakes, but this is easily the worst one. The service was VERY VERY slow! We waited about 10 mins to be seated, and when we finally got seated, we waited another 10 mins just to get the menu in front of us! Food quality was decent. But overall a very bad experience and a waste of time.

I was quite disappointed with my experience here. My friend and I walked in and waited to be seated, thankfully my friend was paying attention because the hostess half waved us over to a table from across the room. Then it took about 25 minutes until a waiter came over to take our order. She walked past us about 4 times too, without acknowledging she would be with us soon. We honestly almost walked out. Our order was eventually taken and it took another 25-30 minutes for them to make our burger and fries. The milkshake however did came out within 10mins and was delicious, I'll give them credit for knowing how to make a tasty mint Oreo milkshake. The burger was decent, nothing over the top or special, but had a good amount of bacon on it. Everything on the menu is very affordable, but know it is not "fast" food and expect to spend at least an hour and a half here.

This location has been a hit or miss. It always seems empty when we pull in the lot. Few tables full at any given time.
I do like that kids eat free on weekends.
It does take forever to get service from the kitchen. So far the servers have been attentive to take the order but it seems to take forever in the kitchen. Drive thru is a joke. To get a milkshake your better walking in.
YES the milkshakes worth it.
The burgers are good most of the time and I really like the string fries but not when they are COLD.
Breakfast - Don't waste your time, other better breakfast spots in the Waterfront.

I liked the 24hrs part !
They use actual, real ice cream in the shakes, good selling point..

This location is temporarily closed due to remodeling and hopefully for hiring better servers. I was here about a week before they closed for remodeling and was severely disappointed.

We were seated quickly, but that's because we know to go early before their lunch rush starts. The server took our order, brought our drinks, and was kind. End of story. He managed to mess up both of our orders and completely forgot half of my order.

By the time I was finished with my food, I was still waiting for the rest of my food for another 10 minutes. He also did not refill our drinks or speak to us after he handed us the check. This was BEFORE I got the rest of my meal.

By the time we were done eating, we had six cups of honey mustard that we did not order and I specifically said I didn't want.

To top it all off, we waited for over 5 minutes at the register because the cashier was too busy talking to the cooks.

I'm hoping the new Stake 'n Shake fixes the poor service.

1 star because their chicken tenders are good, and because I can't give zero stars.

I plan on trying this place after they reopen and will update my review of my new experience.

I was here with a bunch of friends for dinner after watching a movie at the waterfront. Few of them are huge fans of this food joint and I decided to give it a try.

Out waiter was very helpful and cheerful person. We ordered milkshakes, fries, burgers, chicken tenders, one item with beans and pork. No complaints about the food. It was good and well prepared! Of course the milkshakes are good, also heavy!!

Everything was going well until I noticed a ball of hair beside my table which freaked me out. It kind of ruined my experience and effected the first impression I have on this place.

Alrighty, now you're silly for looking at a Yelp review of Steak N' Shake. You know what you're getting yourself into.

That being said, this location is pretty great. Never have I had a negative experience. The food is warm, tasty, and comes out in a reasonable time. Beyond that, there is a server there named Desmond. He is a joy. Wonderful, welcoming, and inclusive. He alone makes the average diner experience excellent. Hip hip! Hooray!

I love Steak 'n Shake but they need quite a few changes. The people at drive thru are never friendly and do not have patience at all. On a somewhat busy day, it takes way longer than it should. They almost always forget something I ordered. The only upside to coming to this location is the food is hot. Anytime I ask for extra sauce or whatever it may be, they don't seem to hear me when I say it. It is very frustrating coming here.

"An American Classic" is a common motto of Steak n' Shake. However, this particular location has always been a hit or miss. Yes, the milkshakes are good and the burgers are enjoyable, but the servies at this restaurant is nearly always awful. On my most recent trip to this burger joint, I was surprised by how little people were in there (except for a large part of around ten). There might have been a total of six or seven tables, with their food already served. After being seated by a friendly hostess, we waited for our order to be taken. And waited. And waited. This went on for at least 30 minutes. I can see how this would happen at a large, overcrowded restaurant, but with everyone already eating, this was absolutely unacceptable. The breaking point was when a waiter asked the family behind us how their meal was going without even acknowledging us, my party and I decided to leave.

I cannot recommend coming to this location, even when the general crowd seems sparse. It is not worth your time, especially when you're hungry!

Service was not the best. Took over 30 minutes to get food. Food was delicious though.

Been to other Steak n' Shakes and never had a problem like this. Seems to only be at this location.

This shift right now is a bunch of chaotic children who forgot their home training Hire adult supervision..... Our waitress and a few others of course are rockstars
