Steak ’n Shake

Don't go here. At 2 am, we are obviously tired tourist who just want a dose of caffeine and French fries. When the pop is the wrong kind, without the requested syrup, and stale fries, and we kindly ask for our correct order, don't get sassy, but help us out. Made me appreciate Indiana's steak and shakes!

I don't usually give a strong review of fast food places, but I come here fairly regularly and this place is consistently good.

First of all the food is always fresh and good, I usually come in for a burger and fries because for the price and quality, it can't be beaten locally.

This particular location is always clean, always well staffed, the employees are always polite and professional, the service is fast, and although it's a walk-up counter with no table service I believe it keeps costs down and allows the staff to concentrate on the food quality.

There is nowhere else in town where you can consistently get a fresh and good quality burger at these prices.

This was just a few years ago one of my favorite places for lunch . Now I remember why I quit eating here. Triple burger extra greasy, cold fries and medium drink $14 ouch. If it's going to be $14 I'd expect much better. The burger is so greasy I put a napkin under it while I at the fries and it's soaked with grease . If the cook would just take a second to press the grease out. I didn't have the heart to complain to Karen. She was the only one out front and very nice. Someone needs to talk to the kids in back .

Had lunch here with my six Book Club friends. I had a Double Cheeseburger with Onion Rings. The hamburger patties were thin, juicy, and tasty. So that burger really "hit the spot" today. Their onion rings were okay, not made fresh at the store, but those readymade kinds. I have had their skinny French Fries before, and they are yummy too. My friends enjoyed their Milk
Shakes with their meals. Great value for the money.

Seems like the cashier was having some problems with the cash register, and she kept on apologizing, but she kept her cool, and managed to be really friendly. Her name was Karen C. She carried our orders to the table and helped us with condiments. We have come here before and will be back.

Hit the drive thru.. used to be trash and take 20 minutes for 2 burger meals that weren't hot & sometimes wrong.
We've gone twice this month during the dayshift and received correct orders that were fresh + good within 2-3 mins.

Very good like it used to be before COVID! The staff was very friendly. The environment was pretty clean . Burgers fries and shakes are unmatched ! Great service. One of the lady's that brought us food brought the baby an applesauce! He loved it!

Food always fresh THEY ARE HIRING. Food had always been made exactly like I order it, you can order online to pick up.

Staff is so friendly and professional. Hate you can't go in to eat. The close at 11pm, can't wait till they go back to later hours.

Shake are to die for. Make sure you eat your fries when they are fresh, they don't start hot long

Omg absolutely WORST manager, real Karen. My grandchild threw up in their dining room and as I was taking the SICK child from the restaurant she accosted me stating "Excuse me Ma'am your child threw up and you need to clean it up" The cashier was sweet and said "it's fine, we can clean it up".

...and she followed us out of the door screaming at us.

You guys just gave me the coldest burger, I've ever had in my life. How at lunchtime do you have cold food! How do you even let burger get that cold and serve it!!! Tasted like you guys took out fridge and put in the bag!!!!. Terrible!!!

This was my first experience with a Steak 'n Shake that did not have servers to take you order and bring your food. I must say it worked very well. The order taker was friendly and took care of things very competently. Shortly, my number was called, and I went to the other counter to pick up my food. The employee who had brought from the kitchen looked hot, but she smiled at me with one the best "I'm glad to see smiles" I've seen in a long time. The food was excellent just what I've come to expect any time I go to a Steak 'n Shake. It made for a very nice lunch experience.
