Steak ’n Shake

Yes; it is a chain, but this is the place to come if you like any or all of the following:

(1) thin hamburgers, where you really should order the double - like being at In-n-Out, as opposed to the thicker burgers at Five Guys

(2) milkshakes - there is a tremendously large number of shakes to choose from

(3) very thin fries - maybe a bit too thin, but the burgers make up for them

(4) chili - with beans, but still spicey and quite good

(5) hot dogs - although I have never had one because the burgers are too good

The service was a bit slow, just as others have said, but nothing to get up and leave about

At the Boardman, Ohio location the burger and fries weren't hot, and the double-burger was barely the size of a single anywhere else. I've only been here two times before, but both times they had great burgers and shakes, and were crowded. There was hardly anyone there this time and after my order was served, I see why. Never again.

Staff members and Manager were very rude over simple interactions. But never fear Batman came to deliver JUSTICE FOR GOTHAM.

The staff were disrespectful during simple interactions at this location. I did my best to maintain politeness while the staff members displayed no courtesy.

There was a guy a worker that came over from the grill to my table and was yelling I'm mark and I don't like to be be marked... and was not being nice and was not being a good worker. And then said he won't kick us out but then asked if he was making stuff up and left... I think he may be on the more crazier side.

I will not be returning to this restaurant again.

Steak and shake used to be a fun place to go to get some bangin milkshakes and a burger, not any longer.

We went here one day and mind you there was ONE other table in the whole restaurant that had people, so they were not busy.

First off, they no longer have any servers. You had to order through a computer when you walk in which is fine but just all feels rushed. The computer asked to leave a tip.. I'm sorry, for who? I'm the one placing my order, carrying it around, refilling drinks and cleaning it up.

I didn't order a drink because we got milkshakes but I asked for a cup so I can have some water, and I was given a cup that would look small in a toddlers hand. So I'd have to refill it over and over again. Would liked to have had lemons but didn't want to bother the people behind the counter because they didn't seem to care.

As far as the food, complete disappointment. We get to our seats and realized my fiancés milkshake was incorrect. I ordered cheese fries and trust me, I love cheese as much as the next. But these fries were drenched with cheese. So to have their thin fries swimming in cheese was very unappetizing. The biggest fail was the burger. I got a burger that on the menu screen included a creamy, garlic butter sauce on the burger. Know where my not so creamy sauce was? On the top bun. The outside of it. The outside of my top bun was drenched in a liquid butter-garlic sauce. I have never in my life seen the outside of a bun coated with a sauce. Every time I picked up the burger my fingers were covered with butter and the spices they used. It was beyond irritating.

$30 for a lunch we didn't enjoy. At all. We will not be returning. Used to be great, not worth anything anymore.

They have done away with table service. You order through a kiosk and they call your name. When you complete your order your asked for a tip . If I have to order it,go get it and bus my table I'm not tipping.

This used to be a busy place to go for lunch on a weekend day, no longer, and you can tell from the reviews. No servers, no hostess to seat you, a kiosk to order and get your own food, and then they ask for a tip on top of that. We had a problem with the kiosk order, and the 1 employee was rude to say the least. No wonder there was 2 cars in the lot at 12:00. Will not go to this restaurant again. Hope your satisfied with your new automated system....

Milkshakes are $5, the hours sucks now. It was so nice going here late at night. They also don't serve breakfast anymore. Very disappointing because I like egg on my burger which they do not seem to offer. Honestly the switch to computer based ordering went really well. Sped up the service so much. Frankly I was very impressed with the speed and you have more options like adding tomato, etc which we didnt seem to have before.

only giving 1 star because I cant give zero. zero manager leadership at this location. walked into the location and it was a zoo. i do love the new ordering menus that is great. no one told me where to get the food or drinks. I accidentally dropped a drink and spilled a soda so I go to the worker upfront and he tells me "ya so? what do you want me to do about it?" then I said "well it was an accident and i don't work here so I'm just telling you" no one came to clean up the mess then entire 45 minutes we were at the location. avoid this location like the plague
