Today I brought my, new to me, Dodge truck in for some recommendations because it has all sorts of tunes & after market things on it. I was referred here by a friend - I was told Dan is the man for after market things... after meeting with him today, I agree.

Amber was a pleasure to deal with, she works at the desk - she was friendly, easy to communicate/schedule with. Dan looked over my truck and gave me a bunch of great recommendations and told me what I should, should not & might want to do. He showed & explained everything to me. I very much appreciated his knowledge, suggestions and the time he took to help / teach me a little bit. I don't need any immediate work done, but this will definitely be the shop I bring my truck to for work. Thanks guys!

I took my 2017 Ram 3500 Dually to this repair shop on July 28, 2021 after I experienced a overheat on HWY 88. I was transporting a vehicle with my Gooseneck trailer as I am an auto transport company. My truck only had 113,001 miles when this occurred. My truck sat at the shop for a few months as I was indicated that they where not able to get to it until sometime in August or even September. I provided them the authorization to inspected the vehicle. I even requested that a new aluminum radiator be installed. After they inspected the vehicle they came back and indicated that I need a head job on my truck as that was the reason why I had an overheat. I authorizes the repair and provided a $2,000 on Ocober 13, 2021 deposit of the $4,887 quote I was provided. Which was a new radiator, water pump, thermostrat and the parts to do the heads which entails gaskets and so not. I requested that if this was all going to be done to provided all my parts and to use Mopar parts only.
When I went to the shop to get some things from my truck I seen that the heads where taken off. The vehicle took about 3 weeks to complete. I paid the balance on November 1, 2021. Upon I having my vehicle returned and I drove it I noticed that the radiator indicator light came back on my cluster board. I checked the resivor level it was low. I filled it up. I drove the truck the next morning and after driving 20 miles again the radiator low coolant came back on the cluster board it did this several times over 10 times going and purchasing radiator coolant and getting a radiator flush to see if there was an air pocket. I even purchased a new radiator resivor tank and the 3 hoses and clamps costing my now well over $700.00 to DYI. Still same problem occurring. That's when I went on the internet and I started looking at issues that may cause this to happen to my specific year make and model. I found a solution to diagnose if the EGR cooler could be the problem causing this and was it on the money. The EGR cooler had a pin hole leak that allowed coolant to go through the cooler which under boost coolant would leak having the radiator resivor level go low. And that's why I was losing coolant. No the heads of my truck. The EGR cooler needed to be replaced. This repair what have cost with parts and labor apart $2,200.00 if a certified remanufracture EGR coolant was purchased.
Well what did I do I connected my credit card company and filed a chargeable dispute. And placed a stop payment on my check I passed at the time the balance was due.

I must say consumer be very careful about any repair you do at this repair shop. I have contacted the BBB and the Buerua of Automobile Repair

Dan is a wonderful human. Extremely skilled and has a well equipped shop. I had a alternator go out on my sons new car while on a road trip. Dan came in on a Sunday and busted his knuckles to get me rolling back to work. I am extremely mechanical myself but was stuck with no tools. My recommendation and support of his shop is that of a fellow tradesmen and mechanic.

I'm not sure about the reviews from before, but they have their shit together these days. I swear I thought I left a review before, but they deserve many more. They treat you nice, fair priced, they can offer options and work with you on MANY different questions. I personally had something making the worst rattling noise under my car and we combined services to take a look under it during an oil change. They found the problem and fixed it! No hassles, no crazy charges! Did I mention super friendly and experienced? They return calls and emails... What more could you ask for? Sherry will for sure fit you in!

These guys are awesome. Was told our block was cracked, took it to these guys, they checked it out and no it was not. Replaced some parts and the oil cooler. Running like a champ. Thanks guys Peggy

Headed out on vacation today. Got to Mammoth Lakes rest area, the truck started acting up. Called diesel Dan. Dan immediately left Hot August Nights in Reno and met us at the shop in Gardnerville. Can't tThank Dan and his crew enough. Back on the road within an hour!! Vacation saved!! Thank you Dan and Standard Diesal, your the best.

These guys are honest, knowledgeable, reliable, and fair. You will not be oversold, or told you need things when you do not. They have worked on every vehicle I own, Diesel and gas. Finding a good mechanic shop is like finding a good doctor you can trust, they are few and far between. Make sure to make an appointment, they are busy for a reason. I have personally recommended many people to Dan and the boy's over the years, and to date they are all still happy customers. Thanks y'all, keep up the good work !

Dropped off my Ford F-350 today with Dan @ Standard Diesel for a chip install and a fuel system modification. All I can say is awesome customer service and great work quality. The truck was completed quicker than expected and about half the cost quoted. They have my business. Thank you
