i went to the east 50s location. the place looks like a dump. I wish I could tell you about the mri but it was a 2 hour wait from the time of the appointment so I finally had to leave. They have a tiny waiting room and everyone sits on top of each other . They treat you like cattle.
They squeezed in people they liked apparently there is one machine so when you let people go ahead you are even waiting longer.
This location is a complete mess. I called the supervisor and she told me they were supposed to,let me know a lot good that does me. This is supposed to be a high end mri machine are they kiddin? .This experience is similar to waiting in the post office no one there cares. if you have 2-3 hours to wait on top of people this is your place..Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1743381436May 5, 2021
What great vibes in this place. The energy was great especially for the time of morning. The front desk receptionist Samantha was very pleasant and welcoming. Jake the guy who performs the scanning was so funny and a pleasure to meet!
I definitely recommend this place for an MRI. I've been to many places like these unfortunately in my lifetime and I've never had such a memorable experience.
Thanks guys so much for making my morning!! I appreciate you. You make the process run smoothly!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 20, 2020
Pros: One of few centers with a FONAR upright MRI machine. Non-claustrophobic experience, Jake the technician was professional and helpful.
Cons: Extremely difficult to obtain a copy of your MRI imaging on a CD. Getting a copy of your imaging shouldn't have to be such a Herculean task. Low resolution (fuzzy) imaging due to the weakness of the magnetic strength of the machine (0.6 Tesla). Doctors may actually prefer a 1.5 Tesla or 3.0 Tesla machine because it produces higher quality images.
I do not recommend this MRI center due to the difficulty of obtaining a copy of the MRI CD. If you want your CD, DO NOT LEAVE THIS FACILITY WITHOUT A COPY OF YOUR CD IN YOUR HANDS. Vanessa the receptionist told me multiple times "we mailed it out" and it was never mailed. To get your MRI CD you have to fax a request in writing to Bill in their medical records department who is sequestered in God knows where.
My requests in obtaining the MRI CD directly from the center were ignored. The hilarious thing is this center has actually blocked my phone number (only when my doctor called from a different number did they pick up the phone). The lack of customer service is appalling.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Vitaly T.Brooklyn, NY2108105Mar 2, 2021
Very good experience from start to finish. A pleasant receptionist Samantha and attentive and patient technician Jake made the scan easy.
The machine is far less claustrophobic than a regular MRI and you get to sit instead of laying down in a tunnel, although once in the seat you are moved inside the machine between two large walls which is quite tight. It took me a minute to calm down my fears but all was fine. The noise level is typical of MRI and you do get earplugs.
Small place, best to book first thing in the morning for a quick in and out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rob K.KNICKERBOCKER, NY18616Mar 8, 2022
Not a kid friendly establishment. They only offer disposable adult ear plugs. A simple solution is MRI safe headphones that can be sanitized. You only need one pair. The TV only had 3 channels showing the news, and any ear protection makes the TV sound moot. And since it was for a brain MRI the recommendation is to lay down, as the tech said my daughter's neck and/or head will get fatigued. If you ask any questions on the phone you get a lot of "I don't know" for a response. Also more than 1 hour wait. 2 stars as they didn't charge for the visit.

I came in this winter for a back MRI.
Pros: non-claustrophobic experience. Jake, the technician, was kind, as was the receptionist.
Cons:
-Was seen about 2 hours after my scheduled appointment time of 10:00am. How were they that behind already?
-the receptionist was kind, but she asked for everyone in the waiting room to confirm their weight and height verbally to her...like to yell it across the room in front of everyone. Wut? Luckily I didn't care but I could see that being humiliating for some people.
-True hassle to get your results. They hand you a single CD as you leave and that's it. Even though they were supposed to mail the imaging and results to my MD, they never did. And it was impossible reaching them to inquire about this. It's a small operation with one phone line, very 1970s, no email address, so hope you don't have any questions or issues because they are impossible to reach.
Luckily, I prepared for this and brought my personal CD to my appointment, however, my doctor's office didn't have a CD-ROM drive because it's 2020! So they couldn't view the results.
Because Stand-Up never mailed my MD the results and doesnt answer their phone often, my MD had to get access to some kind of online portal, via a colleague from med school they hadn't spoke to in years! And was able to view the imaging and results that way on their own.
At minimum, they should centralize their process for getting results to the patient's physician. Very sketchy HIPAA-wise, think that would be a major priority. Won't be returning.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Only W.New York, NY02915Feb 5, 2018
The front desk is not professional: insisted on picking me up at 3:45 but then nobody called me. Then I called back again, she's like yeah the car will be there at 4. I initially wanted them to pick me up at 4, but she said there's a lot of traffic and you are going to be late. Hello?!
They also sent the driver the wrong address, which means that I'm going to be late for sure
Also the technician who operates the MRI was weird. She scolded me for not sitting still for 20+ min. I understood that's frustrating it could you please be polite and nicer? Very disappointing. Glad that I don't need to come here any more.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - CJ B.New York, NY036Dec 21, 2019
I will be notifying Medicare about the so called manager CRAIG who lied and lied and never sent me a CD of my MRI. 4 phone calls and promises to overnite it and NOTHING. This is not a real facility and CRAIG is certainly not a professional person. They should NOT be reimbursed by Medicare.
WASTE of Time and energy. Don't use this location.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Truth B. T.Brooklyn, NY04Feb 18, 2020
