St. Louis Skatium

Best place to have a private party, kids or adults only. My family has had many parties here over the years, and it's always a great time. Where else can u rent the entire place for $60 an hour that can accommodate over 100 people. Great space for party even if not using it for rollerskating

This place is the worst place ever. They don't even deserve a single star. I have never experienced a business ran so poorly.
They don't care about their customers or even making the environment enjoyable. It's dirty, not kept up with.
They play music with tons of profanity, which is such a disappointment considering those of us trying to bring children.
Never go here.

I don't often leave reviews, but I wanted to leave one because I saw so many negative reviews. I rented out St. Louis Skatium for my 25th birthday and had a wonderful time! It was easy to book and a good price in my opinion. We had a great time! We were able to bring in food and they had a stocked bar, with free ice and soda. I was very satisfied and would have a party here again! It is an older building but I did not find it "dirty." I am thankful that places like this still exist in St. Louis!

Came here today for a birthday party and it was really nice. Kids loved it as did I. Thank you! ​

I haven't skated in almost 30 years. I'm a single mother and I decided to take my 5 year old daughter out, once a week, to do something fun. This week we picked Skatium. We were having a lot of fun. There were tons of kids, so I busted out all my quarters and started handing them out to all the kids (including my daughter). OUT OF NOWHERE this woman comes up to me and says " I told you not to touch my daughter". I said "What?! I don't even know who your daughter is." So the bouncer walks up and says to me "You gotta go" . So I said "Are you kidding? For what?" He stuck his nose up in the air and escorted me and my daughter to our car. Once we got out to the parking lot the bouncer started answering my questions and I find out that I'm not kicked out...? What the heck? So we went back in. And the snack bar cut me off. I had 2 shots and tipped very generously, bought every kid a snack and games, and had good conversations with everyone before that happened. It hurt my feelings so bad that I cried. My daughter had to go through all this with me. It was a HORRIBLE experience.

Went here for a party and had fun, so I can't complain. The restrooms were in surprisingly better shape than I expected, although it looked like the trash hadn't been taken out in a while. There are lockers in the back corner, by the restrooms, which I didn't notice until the end of the night, so I didn't get to test them out.

Dusty, dirty, and old - but useful and cheap. The St. Louis Skatium has been around forever and is now used mostly for private parties and as a practice space for hockey and roller derby.

You can rent it out for only $50/hour! So it's perfect for a large birthday party if you don't want to trash your own house. The owner barely takes care of it, so don't expect too much.

Well, I have to say that I agree with the only other reviewer...dirty and old but still useful and fun! My first time there was for a private b-day party and we had a blast.
We were able to bring in our own food/drinks and music, which was great, but there was also a basic bar on hand.

Nothing fancy here, but I'd definitely recommend for a b-day party!

I called today and they said private parties only. Guess I won't be practicing for roller derby here.

Last night was my frist trip to the skatium. I went for a roller disco event which was a good time and certainly a far from ordinary way to spend a Saturday evening. While the event was fun, the venue is certainly lacking and in need of some improvements.

The biggest problem is the rink floor being elevated. As a result, you must skate up and down a ramp to get onto the floor. This not only presens a problem getting on and off the floor but even skating past it. If you catch the ramp, the uncertainties kick in. I saw countless people really struggling and falling in this area. A friend with me was a casualty of this ramp. He bit it pretty hard.

The venue is also still smoking which seems bizarre to me. I wander in and out of my share of dive bars and handle it as part of what they are. But to allow smoking inside a skating rink seems quite odd.

A number of people and I had trouble with he storage lockers. The machines stole quite a few quarters before I just gave up and placed my stuff in one and left it unlocked.

On the positive sides, its hard to argue with the drink prices and they did allow a large group to come in and get a bit rowdy for the evening. Thanks to them for allowing it.

I'm glad that there is a skating venue within the city but its ramps and narrow walkways do not make it a venue for the occasional skater.
