Five stars for a cell phone company is not something I would normally do, but the store here on Ala Moana helped me out a bunch and far exceeded every expectation I had.
Certainly, getting hooked up with any cellphone company for a two year commitment requires a little homework. I had done mine, but needed some assistance with my account and an added line that the 1-800 Sprint folks could not address.
Visiting the store here solved all the problems. I made an appointment with Quelby who along with her manager went right to work and solved a problem that would have taken a week to solve if I had relied on Sprint Customer Care.
They went the extra mile and made a loyal regular out of me here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - K K.Honolulu, HI42616Oct 14, 2014
If I could, I would give them negative stars. The Sprint cellular/data service in Honolulu is god awful. The promise of upgrades when I first purchased my iPhone 4s never came to attrition. I have had so many dropped or missed calls over the life of my contract, and horrible data speed. Their data speed is comparable to dial-up. I finally upgraded my phone to the iPhone 6 with T-mobile, and the service difference is like night and day. I have also had ATT and Verizon in the past, and they are both also very good but expensive.
In a nutshell, whatever carrier you decide to choose, DO NOT choose Sprint as an option; I promise you will regret it!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Love S.Honolulu, HI41431655Dec 11, 2008

Worst service ever. I just moved out to Hawaii and my service wasn't great and I talked to a service rep and they said they would wave my cancellation fee because I don't have service here. I would also be given a lower price until I did cancel because I can't send picture mail, text messages or get on the internet without wifi. Often my calls would drop as well. I went to pay my bill, and nothing had changed AND the cancellation fee is no longer waved. I would NOT recommend this provider to anyone anywhere.
I just don't understand having to pay for something that just does not work.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Michelle O.Oceanside, CA173574104Dec 16, 2008
So I have 2 cell phones b/c I signed one of those never ending 2-yr agreements and ended up just keeping the 2nd line active so Mamason can use the phone where ever she is when she travels within the U.S. Since she's visiting me for the holidays, we pulled out the old Sanyo 8200 to program the new local # into the phone. The arrow function doesn't work & I was told to take it to this store for repair.
Because I insured the phone, they replaced the keyboard face plate & corrected this common issue on the 8200 for free. I picked it up by the end of the day without hassle and appreciated the helpful & pleasant sales people.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Wendell Y.Crockett, CA2672543Sep 24, 2012
Sprint has always been questionable in Hawaii. I went with them because my last job was subsidizing Sprint, and the original HTC Evo 4G was the hot new sexy android. I recently renewed service and picked up the New Hotness - the HTC Evo 4G LTE. I'm regretting it now. Not because I wished I had an iPhone5, but because *Sprint has been down almost all day*. Like total network outtage. It's wrecking my business day. I can't receive calls, but I do receive clusters of 3-4 voice mail messages at once every hour or so. But I can't call back - not even a dial tone. I have clients calling me, leaving me messages asking why I'm not picking up. Then I read on their website that they estimate that it'll be another 24-48 hours to restore service. Really, Sprint? Really?
I'm bailing to Verizon. The amount of business I lost today already exceeds their early termination penalty charge, and at this point they're going to have to BEAT it out of me.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Xiao L.Honolulu, HI267462Aug 9, 2012
Sprint sucks. Buying nextel didnt improve service or coverage. They seemed to have lost focus on reliable coverage. I cancelled sprint when my phone could not get a signal even when I was standing in my parking lot with my phone held up in the air!
I drove a mile from my home then I finally got a signal to call customet service to cancrl my service.

I also agree with the other posters, that I'd give them 0 stars if I could. 4G LTE is still not available in 2nd qtr 2014, and a sales rep said that it'd be here in early 2013. So much for that... My 2 year agreement is almost up, and if ther'es no 4G in Honolulu by the time it's up, I'm jumping ship. The biggest mistake I made was being loyal to this company only because I was with them for 14 years.
Ask any Sprint customer in Honolulu to run a speed test, my best result was 0.63 Mbps, I don't know whether to laugh or cry about that while getting charged $80 a month lol.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Johnathon O.Alexandria, VA9329Mar 10, 2012
This was one of the worst Sprints I've been to. The customer service was not so great and rather rude. They'd promised to have my phone back w/in 3-5 business days, so I come on day 6, and they said that it was on island and had gone out w/ the UPS truck would be in later that day....but NO.
In general Sprint is ok on this island, but I think that other carriers have better service. and hopefully better customer service too!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 21, 2014
Today at around 3pm I got the surprise of my life when my iphone 5C showed LTE! I couldn't believe it! Did a speed test and got between 5-8 download speeds. I'm in the airport area, did anyone else notice LTE on their phones?
