Open since 2011, Sportsman's Warehouse in Puyallup, WA is near the Washington State Fairgrounds, Puyallup River, South Puget Sound, and Mt. Rainier National Forest. National Gunsmithing services are now available! If you like hunting, we're here to get you all set up with everything you need. Popular pursuits include deer, elk, bear, cougar, turkey, and waterfowl. If fishing is more your speed, we have all of your tackle to catch the legal limit. Common catches are salmon, steelhead, trout, bass, crappie, lingcod, sea bass, and crab. We also carry plenty of supplies for camping, hiking, backpacking, and water activities. Our shop services are available to spool reels, replace broken rod tips, mount and boresight rifle scopes, cut arrows, tune bows in our 36-yard archery lane, and anything covered by your Firearm Service Plan. No matter the weather or time of year, we've got the seasonal accessories to fit your outdoor adventure. While you're in the area, be sure to check out local events like the Washington State Fair & Stampede and Washington Sportsman's Show.

I come here every once in a while to browse or pick up some random camping stuff. They usually have what I need.
Well kept and clean. The only reason I knocked off a star is because while the employees are nice...they are hard to find. About 3 of every 4 times I shop here, cash registers are not available due to staffing and you have to wait in the loooong line where people buy hunting/fishing licenses.

Ordered two 3-gallons jugs of peanut oil (that were on sale) ship to Puyallup store. One item came within days but second one was to come from another store. I was told I'd receive both jugs before Christmas. The second jug was damaged during shipping and was told that store had none in stock. I was refunded for that 2nd jug and told to order again to trigger delivery from a different store. It never arrived. So I canceled that order and picked up only jug that was delivered. The customer service staff both on phone and in person at the Puyallup location were very nice. However, the customer service area was understaffed, causing significant wait time.

Went to the store in person for some of their Christmas sale items. Took a number tag at the gun counter to wait for assistance. After waiting 45 min, my number was called. I explained to the employee I wanted to order a rifle. I was told all firearms orders have to be done online and they couldn't help. I didn't see any sign stating this and there's nothing on the website stating this policy either.
Talking with some coworkers that also shoot, they stated they've never had that problem and 1 had just ordered a gun at the Federal Way location in person. I don't know if this is just Puyallup's location policy, but I feel it's poor customer service, especially since the policy isn't posted.
I decided to order my rifle from a different retailer even though the price at the other retailer was $150 more. it was worth paying more knowing I wouldn't have to deal with the staff at the Puyallup store again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Bad service. Empty store lots of employees yet impossible for anyone to help you. Seems like they're either really busy doing whatever for whoever else that isn't in the store or just plain lazy

Where do I start? Purchased a glock 30S from this store. After multiple inquiries and 30 days later....I was told that the assistant manager messed up the paperwork and my "proceed" was actually issued the same day I bought it. So I got my gun and began carrying it every day since it's the smallest in my collection. 6 months passed and they call to tell me I need to bring it back due to another error on their end. They wanted me to do another 4473 and wait another period. I returned the gun and will no longer be buying from them. I suggest buying from someone that actually knows what they're doing.

I bought a rifle online went in same day filled out the paperwork and got told in 10 days i should hear something back well its now 14 business days and still have not heard anything back from then about it this is really frustrating im only leaving a 2 star's because the people are friendly other than that i have no clue whats going on over there but nobody can seem to tell me when I can secure the rifle dunno if i will ever do business here or with this company again i have even emailed them 2 times and no response back.
Update: called the store today and rifle is ready to be picked up so after a 14-15 business day wait it worked out i will be giving 5 stars because it ended up working out in the end.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This location has incompetent people working there. I'd choose another location or another store all together. I purchased a firearm from them and after the 10 business day waiting period I called to check the status and no one could be bothered to check on it for me. When we finally got the call that they where ready to be picked up, 3 weeks and 2 days later I found out by looking at the paperwork my weapon was ready a full 9 days prior but no one apparently had the time to call. When we went in for pick up it took 45 minutes because only one person was behind the gun counter and the manager in the back couldn't be bothered to stay out for all the double checks and kept going into the back office and had to be called out each time. I've had my weapon for over a week and got a call today that an "nd" was missing on my address and I have to go back in to correct it because both staff members didn't catch it and I didn't know that mattered. I'm livid to say the least at how incompetent staff is/was and now customer service is clearly not a priority regardless of how much you spend with them. My order was over $1900.

Common theme with Sportman's Warehouse when purchasing a firearm is long delay both at the counter and getting calls. I've spent thousands of dollars on firearms at Sportman's and this last experience is the worst. Never coming back. Waiting for over 13 days now and store policy is not to release sale till they get a response from the pd. I had to wait over two hours to do the paper work for this last purchase. Let's see when they will call me back to pick up. Going to update this review till they call me.
Update: Called again on the 14th day at 10 AM (on a Saturday) and was told that they did not get a response from the pd. So I told them to cancel my order. Then got a call from them at 2:34 PM on the same day and was told that it's ready for pick up. I doubt the pd works on Saturday to clear background check. What happened to my cancelation from this morning? Get your acts together. Besides, found the same firearm online $90 cheaper.
