South Beach Kayak

I'm not outdoorsy at all.

I hate the sun, the mosquitos, the fact that I can't control anything in my environment. The list goes on and on.

So, pray tell, you may ask yourself how I ended up kayaking. Honestly, the things you do for people you love. What's worse is my crazy butt bought a Groupon to do this again at another location within the next few months, but now I'm just rambling.

Considering this isn't something I typically would bother with, I'm pleased to report that this adventure was amazing. A group of four of us booked and we did tandem kayaking, which I'm happy with as I'm not athletic whatsoever and my partner in crime is incredibly so. Consequently it worked out on our kayak as I was, of course, out of my element and he wasn't.

Apparently there's a technique to rowing. Who knew?

That said, I didn't make the reservation for this. For once I was the backseat driver so to speak, so we showed up, parked literally in the front and paid for said parking, and walked right on in, meeting up with Michael who set us all up. Well, and Chase. He has a dog named Chase who is the sweetest thing.

We were granted a map or perhaps shown one? I don't particularly remember as this was over a week ago. We wound up kayaking for two hours and what a workout it was. We had beautiful weather, even enjoying a breeze now and then. Pleased, incredibly so, and wouldn't mind a repeat performance.

These guys are the best. Super accommodating and very friendly. Prices are reasonable and reserving online is easy.

We had a large group and they went above and beyond to get us all situated and comfortable. They were even so nice as to stay after closing to help one of us who locked keys in her car.

Pricing was reasonable. I paid $30 for a 2 hour SUP rental. They also offer kayaks and I believe guided tours. Highly recommend!

Michael runs an awesome operation over here! Reasonable prices for kayak rentals and a super easy process. Located right off Sunset Harbor, there's so much scenery nearby in the canals. Wildlife, beautiful homes and yachts.

Great experience renting kayaks with my boyfriend. They offered a great and easy path for us to follow for our 1 hour trip and the views were stunning and we felt very safe the whole time! Great activity to do as a couple or with a group or even alone, would definitely return again and do a longer trip in the future!

This was a super fun experience and Vincent is very nice and patient. Would definitely recommend their sunset tour because you will not only enjoy the awesome view but also get to learn about the story behind the scenes and the history of the city. It is so sad they are moving away soon so definitely book this when you still can.

A great price for a fun kayak route on the bayside. We rented some tandem kayaks for an hour for $15/person, which js a good price. Street parking was easier to find nearby than if we were trying to park on the other side of the island.

The only bummer was that the shop is across the street from the water and you have to pull your own boat over to the water to get in, which was hard work. I wish the location was more convenient or that they offered to pull it over for you or something.

I was in the mood for a little paddle boarding. Michael was friendly and willing to help out. The prices are reasonable. The equipment looked well maintained. They offer kayaks and paddle boards. The business is across the street from the harbor. I'd definitely come back and rent from Michael again.

Great area to checkout by kayak. Super nice dude running the shop. A great way to see places you most likely can't afford to see up close.

We had a blast coming here to kayak. The staff informs you of the routes you can take based on your comfort.

You can kayak through absolutely beautiful homes. And when I say homes, maybe "estate" is a better word.

Amazing views of downtown as well, but I'll say that if you're not used to kayaking, it can be a bit of a workout -- especially on windy days.

I would recommend doing a tandem kayak, instead of solo, for beginners

We would give this facility 5 stars, but unfortunately the shop lost my fiancée's keys that they were supposed to keep in their office.

I prefer Paddleboarding by the Venetian causeway so naturally this location is a winner for me. Paddleboards are heavy so they're bay front location is convenient. It's best to arrive early as parking can get challenging on certain busy weekends. They obviously also have plenty of kayaks and the prices are competitive for the area it's in. Keep in mind, the weather predicts their availability because no one willingly rides out in poor weather unless they're asking for it. It's best to reserve ahead of time if you can. They're very friendly and helpful which adds to the whole experience. Go and see how beautiful Miami's waterways truly are. The summer months are the busiest time so plan accordingly. Bring a few bottles of water and sunscreen.
