First met the Ray's in 2018 when I purchased my GC1710. Ray Junior was very patient in answering all my questions and giving my all my options. I purchased this unit and with proper maintenance I've have had zero issues.
Season 2019 returned for a Echo 450P Chainsaw and the Ray's were very helpful with that purchase as well. Ray Junior advised which was the best one for my application with no up sale or pressure to purchase.
Season 2021 back to ask about replacement turf tires for my GC and if it was worth swapping from the original set and after a couple of questions we agreed it wasn't worth the purchase to make the swap. (COVID saw the signs, door was locked and no issue) Grass still looks good.
Season 2022 back for all needed to maintain my GC again very helpful w/ what I did and did not need for me to do the job.
Season 2023 back for my Echo 450P maintenance parts and an air filter belt retainer for my GC (now with 267 hours) that needed to be special ordered. Ray Junior gladly offered to sell me one he had from his own shop GC they used for snow plowing so I wouldn't have to wait or use my tractor while having the air filter bouncing around in the engine bay and possibly cause additional damage.

That's my experience with Soslers and I do recommend this establishment.

Having written the above statement and having owned my own business I do recognize the following...

People including the Ray's have bad day's.
Customers can be a pain in the @$$. You know who you are Karen!
Small mom and pop businesses can't compete with big box business.

      Three strikes...
Good location, impressive and clean showroom, nice selection, authentic parts.
There used to be a decent fellow but the last three times, I was received by two different persons, seemingly outbidding each other in rudeness. Sadly, we're done with this local shop.

The guys at Sosler's Garden & Farm Equipment are Top Notch. I was looking for a Zero Turn Mower with excellent performance and built quality for residential use. After much research I decided that a Ferris Brand Mower was the way to go. Sosler's came highly recommended. I talked to Ray lll on the phone and he invited me to come in and see the machines they had to offer. Ray took a full hour out of his buy day to educate me on all the features of the Ferris Mowers. Due to supply chain issues it was unclear as to when a mower that suited my needs would become available. This man spent that much time with me talking about a mower that he couldn't sell me. None to be had anywhere. I was pleased to learn that not only are Ferris Mowers American made... they are manufactured in upstate New York. Two weeks passed and a 500S became available. The buying process was a pleasure. The shop is immaculate and professional. 4th Generation Family businesses like this one are rare and need our support. The customer service compared to "big box" stores is far superior. When you call for something, the owner picks up the phone. I will recommend Sosler's Garden & Farm Equipment to all my family and friends. Thanks Ray & Ray, much appreciated.

An absolutely horrific experience. Many times. Buying a tractor is not something you jump headfirst into. You ask questions, you research, you do your homework. My husband works long hours and sends my father-in-law (late 70's) to do a lot of his errands. One of those errands was checking different areas for tractors. Used, new... we weren't sure.

We've gone here for parts for our first tractor, numerous times. The son of the owner always makes things difficult. I need this, I need that. One day we brought belts in, while the son was literally reprimanding my father-in-law for not having all of the information, the father walked up behind him, grabbed the part from the counter and was back literally within 60 seconds with a replacement. Not the first time. It's always a hassle, he makes you feel like he's doing you a favor.

The icing on the cake is when we were looking for a new tractor. Drove to many places, including this one. Looking for new and used - we weren't sure yet. When he thought we were buying a new tractor, he was super nice. As soon as he found out we were looking for possibly a used, he started telling us why we needed a new one. Then, why we didn't need this model or that model. And of course the models he was recommending were only the models on the lot. He stopped in there at least four times asking questions about different machines.

Finally, they basically threw him out on his ass. Again, this is the son NOT the father. The father was always kind, patient, accommodating and super friendly. So knowledgeable! The son comes across like a greedy, rude, snotty, entitled brat. He's going to run that business into the ground. He should be ashamed of himself for the way he treated an elderly gentleman, literally telling him not to let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.

PS, we did buy a used tractor, a few years old and low hours. Got it for a great price from a private seller. We got exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately, we had to travel far to get it. Had the son been a decent human being, he would've made a sale. Maybe he should let his father do the talking and selling from now on. Actually, the father also needs to handle the parts, since the son doesn't seem to know his ass from a hole in the ground.

We have been purchasing our parts for the new tractor and other farm equipment a bit further away, but we'd rather take the drive then deal with this guy.

Awful. PS I just looked at the other reviews for this place, and it seems I'm not the only one complaining about the rude, condescending owner. While they don't mention which owner, something sure tells me it's the son. Take a moment to read the reviews. He makes everything difficult, rushed.

I have never been to any place with such rude customer service as this one. The person stopped me and told me to wait outside. He points out the sign that says " this door is locked for our safety (covid precautions); the door was unlocked and i wore a mask. I asked for a chainsaw and he showed me a $349 Echo which was over my budget. I asked him if it was only brand he had. And he said no and have a nice day and called me rude. ???? Closed the side door and waved bye. This is why mom and pop shops are failing to Home Depot and Lowes. By seeing most of these reviews, there is a trend. Im never going back to this shop ever again. Neither should you. Service is bad, people are cruel, there 13 signs on their door; 3 related to covid.... cant expect ppl to read all of them. Help close this shop permanently. Don't go.

ust want to say, this is the second and last time I've stopped buy to buy servicing items for my lawnmower. The first time Ray was short answered, came off rude and talked down to me as a customer. No wonder your online ratings are horrible, seems to be all the service department where the issue lies. Today I stopped by and dealt with a different guy, of course he didn't listen when I asked for oil, spark plugs and fuel filter, bringing the owners manual with me.  He came out after briefly talking with him on the phone just asking him to come out so I can talk face to face but would not come out till I explained exactly what I needed. He came out with 2 non BS oil and a filter, i stated what I bought last time 40oz bottle and he came back out with what he stated were 2 qts, 18oz is not a qt. I'm a mechanic by trade, making the customer feel they have

If I could give a zero I would give a zero
Don't be fooled by the honeymoon phase. After you make your purchase, you will be treated like a second-rate citizen. In my experience, Ray Sosler Sr. is one of the most arrogant, condescending, combative and spiteful man that I have ever met in my life. His customer service is horrendous. He will do his very best to make you feel like you are a moron. Even though I have spent close to $30,000 in the last 2 years he treated me with such disrespect when it came to servicing my Massey Ferguson GC1723 that I feel the need to write this review.
I want you to keep in mind that they are the only Massey Ferguson dealer within 90 minutes. So, when you need to have your machine serviced and you will need your machine serviced you will most likely be treated in the most disrespectful way you can imagine.
For a few weeks, I have been having an issue with the rear differential on my Massey Ferguson Garden Tractor that I purchased brand new in 2020.
At first, Ray Sr. said that he couldn't fix it for me because it was too big of a job. He referred me to 2 dealers, each over 3 hours away.  I called corporate to see if there was anything that they could do.. The rep got back to me about 4 days later. The rep said she had spoken to Sosler's and asked me to give them another call and set up an appt.  I called Sosler's today to make the appt. Ray Sr. told me that the rear differential was most likely covered but I would be responsible for $400-$500 in "shop fees" And if I brought it in, they would take care of it.
Not trusting Ray Sr's. information, I called corporate again. I was told that the repair would be completely covered. I called another Massey dealer and he told me the same thing as corporate, that the repair would be completely covered. " you should never be charged for any warranty service" is what I was told by the Massey Ferguson representative. So basically he was trying to gouge me for another $500
I called Ray Sr. back to tell him that I won't be bringing the machine in. He told me that "it's do or die, if you don't bring it in tomorrow, I would NEVER have enough time to do the repairs and if that is the case, we should part ways" He also chastised me for waiting a month to fix my machine. Wait, didnt he tell me a month ago that he couldn't do it? I responded with, "Who do you think you're talking to?" Ray Sr. replied, "Someone that doesn't take care of his equipment" At that point, he got to hear exactly what I thought of his customer service. He replied, "I am glad that I recorded this call" and hung up on me. Is it legal to record a phone call without telling the other party in the beginning of the phone call?
So that is my story exactly as it happened. Would you buy from a dealer that treats his paying customers like that?

Called this place to ask for a product and pricing...what I got in return stunned me. The guy was very rude, obnoxious and couldn't care less about what I wanted to ask him. Personally, I would steer clear of this place of business because I know you'll receive the same.

Purchased a large snowblower from them and have it routinely serviced by them as well. Buying experience was top notch and annual follow up has been fantastic as well. The size of the machine exceeds what I can transport, so they are willing and able to pick up and drop off after annual maintenance. Don't make the mistake of buying equipment like this from big box or hardware chains - go here instead if you are in the Hudson Valley.
