Delicious Mediterranean baked goods and food in a very cozy setting. The sample of meze dishes I had were some of the best I've ever had. You gotta try the Muhammara and baba ganoush. Inside is a bit cramped and crowded with only a few seats mixed into the dry goods shelves. Not good for big groups or kids. They do have all sorts of treats and cooking spices to buy which is really neat.
Items are on the pricier side and portions are a bit small but the quality is there to justify it.
The lines here exist for good reason so order ahead if you are in a hurry. Parking is limited to street. Great spot for a quick bite!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Gloria H.Cambridge, MA184246698Jan 8, 2024
I've heard great things about Sofra but never tried it until recently, and I'm obsessed!
I may just be a sucker for scones, but the savory scones I've had at Sofra are top tier. The cheese scone was soft, buttery, crunchy, and cheesy. The carrot scone was also delicious.
The greens tahini galette was amazing as well! Such buttery pastry and tasty filling. I think Sofra does savory pastries extremely well.
I've also tried the morning bun, spanakopita, cinnamon pumpkin muffin, and chocolate gingerbread loaf, all of which were good, but not as amazing as the scones and galette.
We also tried the mezze platter (sampled 5 of the cold apps). The baba ganoush was good but a bit lacking in eggplant percentage, and the spinach dish was pretty good too. The dolma and couscous were a bit sweet for me and the beans and olives were a bit sour. I probably wouldn't get the mezze platter again.
I'm eagerly awaiting my next visit to have more savory pastries!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Kimberly N.Boston, MA33085889Dec 8, 2023
SOFRA is such a not-so-hidden-anymore gem! There is a small parking lot and street parking. There are some tables outside, as well as some seating on the inside, but it gets quite crowded, so I wouldn't count on getting a seat easily.
SOFRA serves food as well, but I only got the pastries and lattes when I went. Queueing is a bit confusing because of the tight space, so it is hard to tell who is in line vs. who is waiting for their order. Also, there is no space to look at the pastries before ordering, so the ordering experience is stressful because you will feel rushed, and you are not able to just point to the pastries that you want.
With all that aside, the pastries were delicious. The pumpkin muffin was my favorite, but I think it is a seasonal item. It was so fluffy and light. The brown butter doughnut had a saltiness to it and was quite heavy, but the chocolate on the inside was so rich and smooth. The chocolate chunk was also good but not something I would get again because there wasn't anything special about it. The morning bun was also heavy, but I still enjoyed it because it had the perfect flakiness. Not pictured, but I also got a chai latte, which was perfect on a cold day.
I would definitely come back again to try more pastries and their savory dishes.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 23, 2024
Came on a rainy Saturday morning before they opened and there was a line already. Sheeesh. With high expectations going in, I must say the food was good but pricey. $70 for breakfast for two and the portion sizes are tiiiiny. I was shocked to see a liter of lemonade was close to $40. I didn't get it but I still wonder to this day whether that lemonade would've changed my life.

I love this place! Really original, tasty and healthy mediterranean food. The place is small so if you go on weekends you might have to wait quite a bit and you might have to sit in a very squished way. My only problem with this place is the price. Portions are tiny and prices are really high. Because of the prices and portions, I try not to go frequently. Yes, I like a well baked pastry but do I want to pay $4-7 for those small pieces in a regular basis? Nope, I am not that rich.

Food- outstanding - the breakfast pastry was delicious. Coffee- delightful was rich and I didn't need any additional creamHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Oct 2, 2023
Cute corner bakery space with tasty pastries. I really liked the tomato galette - multigrain flakiness nested around beautiful tomatoes, cheese and savory goodness. This was my favorite, and I would return for this alone.
I also had the Shakshuka for breakfast, which was flavorful, but it lacked texture, as the entire dish was a blended/pureed sauce with two very soft eggs that didn't solidify at all. The one Greek pita that came with it was good, but not enough to mop up all the sauce and eggs. Overall it was not substantive enough to be a filling breakfast for me.
For a sweet treat, I got the pistachio shortbread and chocolate chunk cookies, both were very good. I liked that both were not too sweet. The pistachio had a nice nutty tender crumb and the choc chunk had a soft bite with good chocolate chunks.
For coffee I had a latte and it was okay, but a bit too bitter and too frothy like a capp for my liking.
Service was friendly and quick. They bring your food and coffee to you, and you self-bus when you're done. I understand having kitchen appreciation (6%) added but was annoyed this isn't very apparent upfront, only saw it after tipping and getting the receipt.
Still would return for the pastries!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 22, 2023
A hidden little gem in Cambridge that even offers a small parking lot. It was a gorgeous September day so we were able to sit outside for our meal. We arrived around 10:30am, so breakfast it was for us.
We ordered at the counter. The person taking our order was kind but clearly trying to hurry through the long line wrapped around the island.
We had the sausage pita, the egg sandwich with bacon, the sweet brioche, sticky bun and the shakshuka. Everything was delicious, but I do need to be honest and real here-- as we know, eating out has gotten really expensive lately, but I felt a little robbed when the prices were super high and the portions were insanely small.
Advice-- if you order breakfast, you will also want to order a pastry to go with it or you likely won't be full after finishing your dish.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 14758130Jun 2, 2023
We came here right when they opened and found a parking spot in the small lot. The interior of the cafe is very small, but still spacious. We ordered the Turkish breakfast and sausage pita without the feta butter, and a morning bun. The Turkish breakfast was fantastic and surprisingly very filling. The pita was also very flavorful and delicious. The morning bun was a perfect dessert and the orange frosting was so so good.
We also got iced coffee and the Turkish coffee, which was incredible. This cafe has fantastic food with very quick service.
There was also a selection of premade refrigerated food, so I also picked up some muhammara. Fantastic breakfast, will definitely be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Pat W.Bolton, MA05Apr 23, 2024
I ordered the sweet potato with fried mushrooms. The potatoes were soft and surprise - drizzled with pesto! Yum. The pea biscuit was savory with a lovely moist crumb and some whole peas. The spinach pie/spanokopita was a very flaky pastry wrapped around a delicious substantial core of spinach and cheese. The sweet potato soup, however, was so spicy that i could not finish it, even though i tamed it down with a bite of biscuit or cracker after every bite.
