Two weeks ago my brother was in a motorcycle accident, a bad motorcycle accident. Somehow we were unfortunate enough to get Dr. Smith as his Emergency Room Physician.
While in the hospital, the few times Dr. Smith "honored" us with a visit he did not take the time to introduce himself to my brother or any family member in his room. And spent very little time attending to the health concerns of my brother who ended up with 4 broken bones in his foot, 6 fractured ribs, a left lung that was wanting to collapse, a broken and separated collarbone that was fastened back together with plates, a broken scapula, and 6 fractured vertebrates in his back.
Out of all of my brothers doctors, and he had quite a few, Dr. Smith was the absolute bottom of the barrel.
Today, my brother went in for his 2 week follow-up appointment. After a lovely THREE HOUR WAIT, my brother was finally taken back into one of the rooms. An intern came in to listen to his breathing with a stethoscope to make sure he couldn't hear any fluid build-up since there was some when he was in the hospital. He deemed my brother "all clear."
Finally, Dr. Smith himself "honored" my brother with a brief (if you could even call it that) visit.
Here was his follow-up:
Dr. Smith: How is your breathing?
Brother: It is good.
Dr. Smith: Okay, you're good to go.
And somehow my family had to pay $60 in a co-pay after an $80k hospital bill for that?! Are you serious.
So if you're interested in half-ass doctoring, Dr. Smith is your go-to guy. But if you're looking for a doctor who will spend some time making sure you're healthy and actually healing, well my recommendation would be to go elsewhere.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
