Love the pedi, hate the mani.

I had an event and called some places near me to see how long it took for the mani-pedi.  Smiley Nails told me 45 minutes, which was quicker than the 1 hour 15 minutes I was getting quoted every where else, so off to Smiley Nails it is.

They were able to get it done in 45 minutes because they had two different ladies work on me at the same time.  But because of that, my mani had 2 fingers slightly crooked and it started to chip 2 days later.  I didn't notice the crooked nails until I was getting dressed.  But the pedi looked great and the lady working on me was really nice, bringing me a magazine and some tea.  They now take debit cards but they add a $0.75 surcharge for using your debit card.

Smiley Nails looks like it's in a ghetto neighborhood, but they've won some awards for being the best nail salon.

My friend who was getting married, treated the bridesmaids to mani and pedis here the day before the wedding.  They have a HUGE staff.  We had five girls who were getting manis and pedis and we were all done in less than an hour!  They pretty much had two people working on each person so that nails and toes were completed around the same time.  My pedi person spent a lot of time prepping my feet, so that was nice.  The mani was more awkward since I was sitting in the massager chair getting the pedi at the same time.

Prices are cheap and the staff is friendly enough.

Just got my second pedicure and love, love, love it! Great value for what you pay for, come on ladies and gents $20.00 for full pedi  $5.00  more for flower designs and $7.00 ,more for rhinestones. Does not include tip which you will want to give to the nice ladies ( Tori and Tracy do best leg massage and are very detailed when it comes time to apply polish)
This is the drill, walk in tell the owner sometimes it's a man sometimes a lady what you want done, go pick out your polish on the wall filled with OPI and other nail polish, by that time the chair will be ready for you slip in and turn on the massage, let the girls do what they do the best, Ahhh relaxation, bliss...
By the way my pedi always lasts at least 3 weeks with some top coat applied every 2-3 days.
The only thing I don't care for is when you are done with your pedi, they take you and you walk barefoot to the drying lights where you sit until the light go off, bare foot.
No strong smell and even if they look filled up they are pretty fast without rushing you.
So glad found somewhere that knows what  they are doing without charging an arm and leg.

The best! My pedicures from Smiley's never chip, ever. I swim wearing fins, run, walk in the sand, wear closed toe shoes for work all day - not one chip.

I can't really speak to the manis, since I just get clear polish and keep the fingernails short, but have no complaints. And the price is right. Manis are an extra for me so if the cost is too high, I'll skip it, but it's nice when they're affordable like this.

Finally, they paint the best designs. Although I only get pedi designs in the summer, I've had enough here to say you should be able to count on a good design. We've all walked out of a salon with weird blob-like paint globs after asking for flowers, right? Never happens here, and if you take kids, they'll do a kid-appropriate design.

So - very good price, very good durability, most workers are very nice - what's not to love? You want luxury, go elsewhere; you want to be well-groomed without spending all your time and money, Smiley's is great.

I just got the $12 mani & observed the following:

1. they are really fast.
2. they don't really push down or trim the cuticles very well.
3. parking is 0.75 an hour.
4. they don't accept credit cards & atm is an addition 0.75.

I'd only come here if I was in desperate need to get my nails done after yoga.

I have yet to have anything but a manicure here, but so far, so good.  I must say I was impressed--it doesn't look too promising from the outside, but their nail work made up for the lack of fancy and frills. They have reasonable prices too.  I walked right in and was helped immediately-and trust me, my nails needed it. Lastly, their paint job was good and they take their time with you, rather than trying to rush you out the door like some other places.

You'll leave with a smile from Smiley's!

Since nursing school has started, looking cute has pretty much fallen pretty dang low on my priority list. Back in the day, I'd have regular pedicures and manicures, and Smiley Nails was my favorite. Reasonable prices for good quality work, and the nail art is fantastic (depending on the technician).

After a fairly long hiatus, I recently went back to Smiley Nails with my mom for a little pampering. We called in early just in case, and only had to sit for a few minutes before we were situated and worked on. My feet and legs were very well cared for (the massage was just what I needed!!!), and even though I had started with short scrawny toenails, the results were great! My toenails were evened out, and trimmed well, and the polish job was top notch. My mom's toes came out gorgeous with the loveliest flower designs.

Little bit of a happy note, one of the technicians still remembered me from  long ago, and made it a point to talk to me and ask how I've been. Awww. :)

smiley's is an ok place to get a mani/pedi.  priced well, large facility.  my only issues are: 1) they're always busy, and 2) i always feel like herded cattle.  so if you're looking for a really fast mani/pedi, then definitely this is the place.  i personally dislike feeling like cattle, so i only go here if i really need my nails done and i'm in the area.

This salon is super fast pace. I went at 6 o clock on a thursday night and it was full. A guy (who I imagine to the owner) greeted us very nicely.

I elected for the mani/ pedi combo with nail art. The manicure was very quick, the nail polish wasn't applied as smoothly as I wanted but I think it's the polish itself and not the technician.

As my polish dried, they took me over to the pedicure chair. The lady who did my pedicure was quick and fast.  They are experts at nail art. and they do it fast and well (my friend did nail art at Pure Salon and the technician was soo slow).  I did nail art on all my fingers and on my two big toes. The manicure lasted about 5 days and the pedicure lasted over a month!!!!!

The total was about 60.

I'm defintely coming back for a pedicure!

Quality- 4 stars- long lasting pedicure, fast quality nail art

Attitude- 4 stars- friendly

Surroundings- 3 stars- extremely busy salon with average amenities

Reasonable prices for pedicures & manicures. It was $30 for both.

They are really fast and efficient; I counted about 12 pedicure chairs.

The only problem I had was that the lady who did my fingernails filed them lopsided. They all are angled to the left, I think its because she did them in the pedicure chair rather than the nail table.

Horrible, horrible place. This is my first and last time going to Smiley Nails. It's difficult communicating what you want without getting attitude thrown back at you. Although the prices are cheap, you could get the same quality service in a much friendlier environment.

Ok so I have officially converted over to Smiley Nails and become a regular.

I reviewed Nail Salon Koko with 5 stars but I may have to go back and change that review because this is now my place for nails.

I had glitter acrylics(boogie nights) on already when I went in for a fill... I chose smiley because that day Koko couldn't take me. I didn't realize how bulky my original acrylics were until I had them filled here. They're nice and thin these days and muuuuch cheaper. A full set of glitter acrylics at smiley runs at $40. At most salons, that's a fill for this type of acrylic. A fill at smiley is only $29.

Today I went back to smiley for another fill and a pedicure to try it out and I must agree with all the other reviewers... they do good work at an affordable price.

The only reason I take away a star is because the first time I went I was kind of left hanging mid way through my fill. He ran off to do something else for like 15 min and it didn't happen only once. But this was on a busy weekend so maybe that's why it happened.... today everything went well because I had a different technician.  Another downer is they don't take credit cards, only cash and checks so be prepared.

In the big picture, Smiley Nails is a savior here in Hawaii where no manicure or pedicure is ever cheap :)

Good quality pedicures that last 3+ weeks.  Their nail art is very cute-not sloppy or tacky.  If you're in a rush, you can get a manicure done as you sit back to relax your pedicure.  They can do standard french-tip or american-french-tip, which includes painting the tip of the nail rather than attaching a strip of material.

In my experiences, they have always been very kind, gentle and sanitary.  They sand your feet rather than shaving the skin off, which can be painful.  They treat your cuticle gingerly and push to shape rather than cut (unless you have really unruly cuticles).  A total of $20 (including tip) for a pedi with nail art is my cup of tea :)

since i can't get manicures anymore due to the rough nature of my workplace, the next best thing is to try a pedicure and hopefully it wont end up with the same fate as my hands.  (i'm a watiress so i'm always moving around)

anyhoo, i went to smiley nails after reading the great reviews and i was seriously impressed.  i did a walk in and got serviced right away.  trang was great.  she took her time taking care of my feet.  i'm used to them shaving the skin off my feet so when they use the pumice stone i was freaking out cuz im ticklish!  the feet/leg massage was heavenly.  i "splurged" and got a flower design as well.  the total was only $26 excluding tip.  i definitely found my new go-to place for my nails

btw parking kinda sucked.  it was pouring today and i had to park at the lot across the street.  rainy days don't make good pedicure trips.

My wedding party got manicures here the day before the wedding. I thought bringing in four people would be a problem but they had sooo many employees inside just waiting for customers. That's not to say this place is not busy--by the time we were through there was a long line of ladies waiting for their turn. I loved my nails and at $12 for a manicure the price and quality cannot be beat.

I agree with Lora H.  Pedi's last several weeks.  Not only is the cost reasonable, they do a pretty good job of massaging your legs and feet.  The chemical smell is also not as strong as in other salons

Definitely go to Smiley Nails if you're looking for a quick, yet long lasting pedicure with cute designs.  You can walk in and the wait is never that long and just about everyone there does a pretty good job and the price is good, under $30 bucks for a pedicure with a either a flower or rhinestones.   Believe me, you'd be amazed at how hard it is to find a nail salon in Honolulu that does good pedicures, that actually last longer than a week, and make cute little flowers to boot.  Trust me, I've been to almost every single one in this town and either they suck at making flowers, charge too much, don't know what they're doing (i.e. they use the pumice stone over your nail beds so all your nails crack - HELLO?!!).  But Smileys has been good to me.
