A non profit organization allowing the community to experience the fun in ice skating! The ice is always well clean and smooth, nothing like Bryant park in NYC. Ice well kept and maintained.

They offer 5$ and 10$ public adult sessions as well as ice skating public group lessons. Pretty affordable! Their group lessons are 140 for 6 lessons if you have ice skates or 152 for 6 lessons if you need ice skate rentals. Their group lessons are super fun and the coaches for both group and private lessons are very knowledgeable.

They also have a list of coaches on their website if you are interested in private lessons. I skate her doing public group lessons as well as weekly private coaches lessons. It's 17$ to make a ice slot reservation to practice alone or with a coach.

If you plan to go to public skate, either bring your own skates or ARRIVE EARLY to avoid waiting in line for 30 minutes of the two-hour session.

The rink itself is showing its age, and parking is always an issue. Staff range from very friendly to incredibly rude - recently had an older woman at skate rental literally snatch my shoes away and rudely hold her hand out for the ticket without saying a word. After waiting close to 40 minutes for skates. This does not make me want to return.

My son just discovered skating, and SCW is the closest rink to our house, so it's the path of least resistance, but I'd love it if they could invest in facility updates and friendlier staff. Driving to Aston is a pain, but I'll suck it up for a vastly improved experience.

Awful experience trying to take my son public skating!! He is learning to skate and every other rink has allowed us to use skate sleds (which look like walkers) to help the kids balance. The front desk said it was a liability and they didn't allow them, so my son was crushed that he wouldn't be able to skate. We paid, padded him up with a helmet, elbow pads, and padded hockey shorts. While we were putting on his skates, an older woman came over and told us that hockey gear is NOT ALLOWED to be worn on the ice for public skating!!!!!! So, if your child is learning to skate DON'T GO HERE! What a waste of money and incredibly unfriendly, UNhelpful people!!

We are spoiled because our "home rink" is Icework in Aston - a 4 surface facility complete with a BAR and a snack bar, however my child is a figure skater and competes and occaisionally practices here. Skaing Club of Wilmington is also home to some seriously talented coaches (many of whom also coach at other area rinks) and of course, the Great Johnny Weir.

We are grateful to live near so many facilities where my skater can practice and compete.

SIngle ice surface, OK locker rooms. Limited ice time due to ONE icde surface for USFSA and hockey needs.

Although this is an older rink, the facility is clean and very open. This rink feels so much larger because of the tall arches and the open space. There is plenty of room to warm up and get skates on. Additionally, it is in a really nice location(surrounded by golf course). The ice does feel different than others when you first get on, but it is easy to get used to. Last time the ceiling was dripping a little, but not a huge problem. I really like the window for natural light.

The Skating Club of Wilmington offers programs for every level of skater. The atmosphere is so positive and welcoming. The quality of the ice is hard and crisp. I love the coaching staff who help make this difficult sport fun. Great skate sharpening too! The club cafe has freshly made healthy food choices and other lighter fare as well.

If you book ice time here double, triple, quadruple check and then cross your fingers. We just came from Pennsylvania with 2 mite hockey teams at 6 in the morning for a DVHL game only to find we had no ice. Thanks Wilmington Skating Club, bang up job. Great customer service sending 20+ 6 and 7 year olds home disappointed.

A well lit, clean skating rink! Focuses on both hockey and figure skating unlike other rinks that focus more on just hockey. Great public sessions, too.
