Still one of my favorite hidden gems in Annandale. Legitimately every Korean classic on the menu and delicious food with flavor, authenticity, and the homemade love.
I always tend to get the hot stone pot from here called dolsot which has a lovely homey feel with rice, a ton of vegetables, and a spice (sauce).
Also, did you know they sell Korean hot dogs here fresh to order?! Absolutely perfect with crispy exterior, juicy hotdog, and a great low price of only $4 for the original!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 21, 2023Previous reviewFavorite Korean Restaurant for a quick bite! There's a HUGE variety, but of course their JUK (Porridge) is the most popular. The Red Bean Juk is amazing, and so are all their stone pot bowls (we tried the seafood). Also, you can pick up some kimbap and dukboki (spicy rice cakes) to go! There's also a spot that sells Korean hot dogs! The classic is absolutely delicious, and the potato one is quite tasty as well!

The perfect hidden gem for Korean street food! There's quite literally anything you can think of on their menu and there's also plenty of to-go items you can pick up too. Service is super friendly and there's plenty of seating on the inside.
We tried their mango bingsoo which wasn't too sweet but had the perfect amount of sweetness. Their Korean corn dogs also have the popular hot cheeto dust which is definitely very trendy! Their rice plates are also very filling and a must-try.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 29, 2024
My husband just got his gum graft so he was on a soft food diets only. It was hard to figure out where to go, but then I remembered that Siroo Juk sells korean juk so what better time to try it! He ordered the beef and veggie juk and I ordered the beef and octopus juk which was delicious. I'm sad to see that they no longer sell bingsoo, but it seems like they sell some really great korean corn dogs.
The selection of juks is great and they're super delicious. I will definitely return on a rainy day to try more of the juk flavors and to try their korean corn dogs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 5087486Apr 14, 20241 check-in
Now that the weather is heating up, there's nothing like enjoying a cold and refreshing bowl of bingsu! I ordered the Strawberry and Green (Matcha) Bingsu and a Crispy Rice Korean Corn Dog with a beef hotdog and mozzarella. The bingsu was delicious! It had the perfect amount of sweetness with a very creamy matcha flavor! To my surprise, the cornflakes in the dish stayed crisp and added a nice textural contrast. I also really enjoyed the pieces of rice cake spread throughout the bingsu. The corn dog also had a really nice crunch. I thought that the crispy rice was a nice alternative to the usual Korean corn dog toppings. It paired really nicely with the sugary coating and was almost like a rice crispy treat! Inside, the corn dog had a nice cheese pull and a juicy sausage. This location has a lot of seating and a nice intercom that alerts you when your order is ready. I'll definitely be coming back to get this bingsu again!

Nice and homely Korean establishment with both hot foods and nice desserts. I had Korean bbq nearby but I wanted to try the bingsoo. The mango bingsoo was okay (mango puree instead of real mango) but I can tell the rest of the menu would be awesome to try in the future.

Dukbokki, tteokbokki, ddeokbokki, duk bok ki, however you spell it,
Siroo has the best in town, and that's saying a lot if you're in Annandale. Why is it so good? First, it's not even on the menu - it's in prepackaged to-go bowls, so you gotta ask for it like an insider. Soft, firm, chewy rice cakes dripping in sweet, spicy sauce with a few scallions for crunch. This is the closest you can get to authentic Seoul street food. Yes, all the other stuff on the menu is good, but when I get a craving for the dduk, this is where I go. Give it a try!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 12, 2023Updated review
About a 1-1.5: YIKES - not sure what happened to Siroo, but this place, or its Annandale location, has gone way downhill!
We used to enjoy coming here for their bingsoos - the Strawberry Bingsoo that we ordered recently had mushy, unfresh strawberry slices; the snow itself was fine, but they really seem to skimp out on the toppings (mochi, condensed milk, Frosted Flakes, the azuki beans, etc.).
We often got their Korean dogs from Two Hands, but this time around, they were just not great - I had mine with the 1/2 mozzarella and 1/2 beef sausage, encased by the diced potatoes - the mozzarella part was fine, but the beef itself had the old dishrag/mildew-y smell to it, so not sure if it's the sausage itself, or if it was held with an old rag - GROSS.
The staff here are fine - they're neither friendly nor rude, but definitely could be dressed with a smile.
I don't even think I'd return for their juk or their added menu items, such as the dol sot and the soon doo boo combos.
No dice, Siroo!
+decrease in quality!

You then choose what 'style' you want (in terms of toppings): 'Yoo Jah' (yuzu), 'Berry Berry' (raspberries/blueberries/strawberries/kiwi compote), 'Gold' (sweet red bean), 'Choco' (choco syrup), and 'Mango.' I had the 'Noon Ggoht - Gold,' but added 'Berry Berry' as an additional topping (extra charge), the 'Mango - Geu Rheen,' the 'Citron - Geu Rheen,' and the regular 'Geu Rheen.' It takes about 5 minutes or so for the ahjummas to prepare it for you - it comes in a nice large elongated bowl; I was shocked at how crazy generous the amount was - I love the fact that they alternate the layers, as the bottom of the dish had a layer of the injuhlmee (tan powdery rice cake - my favorite kind!), then the shaved 'milk' ice (which was definitely better than regular ice, as it had a slight subtle hint of sweetness), then topped with another layer of the injuhlmee, the berry mixture, sweet red bean, drizzle of the condensed milk, and then a sprinkling of crunchy cornflakes cereal. It was SO GOOD. The 'snowflake' literally makes you think you're eating powdery fluffy snow, so the texture can be interesting; you can add extra 'milk' to it to make it a little more slushee like, but I was totally fine as how it was. It can be sometimes inconsistent, but when made right, the pot bing soo itself was a combination of the right amount of sweetness/crunchiness/tartness/chewiness (from the ricecake) - definitely large enough to share between 2 people (unless you're greedy like me and don't like the idea of saliva swapping AHAHAHA). I'm a huge fan - a good spot for bing soo in the NoVA/DC/MD area :D

I usually go for the injuhlmee (covered with finely-ground bean powder) and the ggool dduk (literally translates as 'honey rice cake,' this is filled with a Korean sweet syrup - oh, yeaaaaaaaaaa). They are soft, fresh, and delicious. The rice cakes are made on the premise, so you know that you'll be getting it freshly-pounded, ready for your tummy. P.S. I heard their pot bing soos are the BOMB.COM, so have to check that baby out ASAP.

+ggool ddukNov 17, 2013Previous reviewThis jook place is located inside Siroo rice cake in Seoul Plaza in Annandale. The place itself is pretty cute, very clean, and offers other Korean side dishes and such to purchase. I tried their Kimchi Jook, which came with a generous bowl and some 3 banchans (sliced kimchi, gogi jorim, and spicy jjuht) - the kimchi jook itself was okay, slightly bland, but steaming hot. I can see how people who want something hearty or warm during the cold wintry months or when they're sick, can enjoy coming here. Each bowl is about $7-8, depending on what you get, which is reasonable. I also tried their mandoo, which was just okay, but had a funny aftertaste. I do want to try out their other jooks as well as their chicken wings (looked nice with all that gistening action!). They also have a self-service hot/cold water dispenser with cups in a sanitizer contraption. I highly recommend picking up some rice cake on your way out for dessert or what not. Service was quite friendly.

The food was absolutely amazing, the porridge was like a warm hug on this really cold day. The service was lovely, they were really helpful and sweet. The atmosphere on the day I went was peaceful, I love nice quiet days to simply enjoy my meal. The bingsu was so refreshing and light, I highly recommend this beautiful place!
