I had Renada as my stylist. This was my first time there and I loved it! She's so lovely and I love my haircut. This place is super muslim hijabi woman friendly, she made a private area for me in the back, so my hair wouldn't be exposed to others.

Excellent hair care, professional, and family atmosphere! I love coming to the shop and my daughter does too!

My hair stylist Jamika is an excellent hair care professional. My hair always feels good and is styled to profession. She always comes up with the best hair styles for my hair.

Who shows up an hour late for an appointment with no explanation or apology.????? Lmao

I made a 10:00 appointment weeks ago as an out of towner flying in for a black tie wedding. I wanted to make sure I was covered.

I called again after I made the appointment to express to Jermaine that I had a wedding this day and confirm everything. All good.

The day of in the door at 10:02. The woman Aniah at the front desk said Jermaine should be there shortly. I immediately asked "soon like 5-10mins?" She went to ask the manager who then said "Jermaine is on is way. You can have a seat."

I said I would wait outside the door. She said "okay"

At 10:35 Aniah came out to the street and offered to shampoo me. I explained something along the lines of not wanting to get shampooed if I didn't know exactly when Jermaine would eventually show up.

At 10:45 I walked to a nearby salon for Plan B.


As soon as I arrived at Salon B (10:59, one hour late!) Jermaine called at to let me know that he arrived and immediately starting saying that the "shampoo girls" had offered to shampoo me and asked why had I walked out......

When I walked back I explained that I was there at 10:00 and waited 45 minutes. Jermaine -hiiiiiiigh as a kite- says "I don't know what you want from me?"
Me: "just some acknowledgment of the miscommunication, the fact that you were very late for a appointment, that I called back to specify about blahh blahhh"
Jermaine: "I don't know what you want from me"
*Anaii walks away*

I asked for the manager and she starts explaining that they want me to sit down so they could get me in whenever someone opened up.

Ultimately I went with plan B. Going to an out of town salon is bad enough. I wasn't going to let someone who so obviously didn't care touch my head.

Before I left, I wished everyone a nice day. And I really wish I didn't have to leave a poor review because I do want to see black businesses win and Aniah did try to be accommodating but the experience as a whole was one of my worst. All I wanted was a simple apology from Jermaine. Still waiting....

I've been a patron of Silk Hair Studio for at least eight years now. The stylists are consistent, the shop is always clean, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I love, love, love Renata, the shop co-owner. She's my go-to stylist.

I also love that the stylists focus on hair health, not just cute styles. Renata gives me REASONABLE advice on how to maintain my hair in between visits. And, she does my hair and my daughter's hair exactly how we ask her to.

Getting your hair done at Silk Hair Studio is worth every dollar.

A great salon! Relocated from NYC and was looking for a stylist for a while and found Jameika there. She is an amazing stylist that is also into hair care!

Eboni is a great stylist. She got me in last minute and never made me feel rushed or as an inconvenience. The salon itself is clean and has a friendly vibe. I left beyond satisfied and will definitely recommend this establishment to friends.

Jameika is an amazing stylist. My first time here was yesterday, and her knowledge and professionalism was well above average. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the prices are some of the best I've seen. Plus, I LOVE MY HAIR!

Had a really good & fast experience at this salon . I was coming into town from Atlanta and found these ladies on yelp. I was able to contact them and made an appointment with Renada. She was so sweet & I loved my hair . The environment was clean and not too chaotic which gives it a nice salon experience.

Wonderful experience 11/10 Renada is amazing! Thank you for being so great, supportive and encouraging! She does incredible hair and her studio is absolutely phenomenal! I rarely leave reviews but I will come here again to give her another run at my hair!
