I love all things Lawrys and thank goodness OC has Five Crowns and Side Door! We wanted something Casual but with good food and a fun atmosphere. SideDoor is definitely all of that! You can order pretty much the entire Five Crowns menu plus SideDoor food. We made reservations through Open Table and were seated promptly.
Our server Patty was amazing. She gave us some history on the name and the restaurant and made some great recommendations for my friends who had never been there before. She made sure our table was cleared when we were done drinking or eating.
There is street parking nearby but they do have valet available for $8 across the street.

Great selection of drinks and Lacy serves them up perfectly.

Bit older crowd but all good.
Fish and chips and salads are recommended.

If you're lucky, you can nab a free street parking spot. If not, there's a paid valet lot right across the street. Full service sitdown restaurant. There's also bar seating. Dimly lit. Old timey feel. Casual attire is fine. Fast and friendly service. Recommend making a reservation!

While a lot of the drinks and food items are insanely expensive, they do have some more "affordable" items. I tried an ahi plate (came with crispy green beans) and the Elvis cocktail (crazy combo of bourbon, banana, PB whisky, and bacon). Everything was delicious! While those two items alone will run you around $50 after tax and tip as of Oct 2023, you know what you're getting into. I could've avoided the expensive cocktail, but the dish was one of their more budget friendly entrees, crazily enough. Gotta splurge every now and then, though!

Great little hidden find. Had the onion soup and it's sooo good!! We found this on a winter night, made reservations online and went there so happy we found this!

Delicious updated menu. We tried the Herb Crusted Colorado Rack of Lamb ( wine and cocktails)...they were superb! The picture is missing 2 racks, we ate them before I took the picture. Nick at the bar was super nice and friendly. We also met Rose and Rayn, very nice people, and easy to talk to. Thanks for the nice dinner experience.

If you're a gastropub gal or gent you will surely appreciate this elevated version of one. From the moment you walk in, and steer to the right, the sideDoor side of the establishment (the left side is a sister restaurant, Five Crowns), you literally feel like you just teleported to Europe. And apparently you can order off either menu on either side (although we didn't because we were already eager and trying to figure out what to order from side car's menu). I loved the ambiance! We sat in the bar side at the high top tables, which were very comfortable. The inside dining area looked even cozier, like someone's living or dining room. I think there was even a fire place. Service was wonderful--I was very impressed with the knowledge and appreciation of the woman I'll call the charcuterie connoisseur, she knows her fromage! Everything we ordered was absolutely decedent and so rich. We tried the bone marrow appetizer, the cheese plate in which you curate yourself, and the prime rib (absolute must). We can't wait to go back!

Best place ever!!!! This is a very special place for my husband and I cause we got married here at five crowns. SideDoor is the bar within the restaurant that also serves five crowns's menu. Ambience is so cool and perfect for a date/night out.
Food and service were outstanding. We just love this place so much. You better come and try their delish food.

I love this place for the cozy bar vibes and good drinks but the food was not good. I will say the bartender had a heavy hand which I appreciate. The service is ok, I do think there is room for improvement (especially if it's not that busy.) The fish tacos on happy hour were good, but just a tad bit too salty. The seared ahi tuna was pretty tasty. I highly recommend against ordering the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. It tasted so bad and left a really bad aftertaste. I think this kind of ruined the meal for me. I let my boyfriend finish it, but he agreed it didn't taste right. Not sure if this was a one off problem, but it's an expensive appetizer and it really was just bad. Overall you should just skip the food, maybe would stop by for a drink again.

Revisited because we were in the neighborhood & food was amazing as always. Sheri was our waitress and she was extra attentive, gave amazing recommendations while not rushing us at all even though it was near closing time. The restaurant is so cute and has many little fireplaces around, it feels like a true little pub. It's less than 5 min drive to the beach as well which is always a plus! 10/10 :)

I attended a St. Patrick's Day event at Side Door in Corona Del Mar. So much fun!
They had an Irish leprechaun playing piano, singing, and telling jokes and stories. He was so talented. It was a lovely evening with an authentic Irish feel. We had a flight of Tullamore Dew to top off our Irish evening.
Side Door is always a nice place to go, but this was special!
