I wish Shooters World Store and Shooters World Range were separate entities on Yelp. I'd give the store one star and the range four. Here's the breakdown:
There are pros and cons to this place. On the plus side, it is incredibly clean from sales floor to range to even the bathrooms. The sales floor is organized logically, very well lit and easy to navigate. The range is an incredibly nice indoor range; clean, air conditioned, what seems to be good air filtration and very good visibility. They have a fairly wide variety of guns and gear available for purchase. It's easily the nicest store and range in the area if we're talking about inventory and pleasing to browse. I got a membership soon after they opened but honestly I'm not sure if I'll be renewing.
What is the issue then? Well, simply put, Shooters World, the store, is about profit first and customer second. They remind me of a car dealer; nice staff and clean presentation, but if you don't want what they have in stock, at the price they want you to pay, whether it is competitive or not, then don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Issue 1) They will not order guns, even if they're from a manufacturer the store carries. I went in to order a particular pistol from Kahr that I wanted, they carry Kahr, and, they would not order it. I made sure to explain I wasn't asking them to take a refundable deposit so I could see it before deciding whether I wanted it or not, I wanted to pay them in full and get the gun sight unseen; still a no go. I've never encountered a retail gun store that sells new and will not order non-refundable from a vendor they carry. Hell, they wouldn't even order Drago rifle bag for me in black because I didn't want the tan version they had in stock.
Issue 2) Fast forward six months and they post on their site about having a special day where they will help you set up a gun trust for the purpose of purchasing Class III weapons (i.e. those needing ATF approval). I already have a trust, so I simply reply and ask if they'll order Class III weapons where you buy and they hold until your tax stamp comes back; the reply, yes. So I go into the store to order a short barrel rifle and suppressor, from a vendor they carry (once again), and they tell me no, they will not order them, just like before. Great, well tell your f'ing facebook person to learn what you won't do before they go promising you will.
Issue 3) Prices. You're going to be paying a premium to shop or shoot here compared to other places in the Tampa Bay area. Yes other places are not as nice, but I've found that popular-brand semi autos in the $500-$700 range are up to $40 or $50 more here than other gun stores. The range is definitely more expensive for an annual membership, however, if you're a first responder, they do offer a discount which other ranges do not, so for some it can become a better deal. Ammo? If we're talking a popular caliber like 9mm, .40 or .45, expect to pay $4 to $7/box more than what you'd find online, and I am talking apples to apples comparison on the ammo itself, not sales tax locally vs shipping charges online.
So, my recommendation is go browse the store, touch and feel the items you may be interested in, then go buy elsewhere from a place where the primary goal is providing the best possible services to gun owners, not this car dealer masquerading as a gun shop.
As far as the range goes, it is awesome, five stars, except, make that four because they are a victim of their own popularity. Even on a Sunday morning, there will typically be people waiting in the parking lot up to 30 minutes before they open to snag a range spot. Yes, the range is that nice, but if you have to wait an hour or two to use it, well, I value my time more than that and will go to a lesser range if it means I can get in, shoot and get back home without wasting an hour doing nothing. This is the reason I may not renew my membership; it's just so busy nearly all the time. In comparison, I can typically get into the range at Shoot Straight or Shooting Sports in zero to ten minutes. Yes I realize they greatly pale in comparison to Shooters World from a quality standpoint, but I like to shoot, not sit around and wait.Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - James T.Phoenix, AZ772711Feb 9, 2024
NEVER, EVER USE THIS RANGE, or shop here!
They only want to take your money and ignore your 2A rights. In order to use the range with a suppressor or SBR, you must show them your tax stamp and allow them to confirm the s/n's match.
There is absolutely zero reason for them to ask for this documentation. There is no local or federal law that would require this. Do not support a place that would harass you to use their range. There are always other ranges and shops that support your 2A rights.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - E M.Fort Lauderdale, FL72502584Dec 1, 2023Updated review

Considering the complaints regarding excessive fees and the extremely inappropriate and rude response from the owner, I would avoid this place at all costs.

Hello David, thank you for providing your feedback. Here at Shooters World, we do our best to keep our prices as affordable as possible so that everyone can shoot and our team goes out of their way to be as helpful to our guests as possible. While we are always professional and courteous, there is simply no way to tell someone that they are not allowed to shoot AK firearms one handed because it's clearly dangerous or that they need to have proper documentation for the items that they want to shoot at our facility because we can be held liable, without seeming like a killjoy. We would love to have you shoot with us, but we respect your decision to frequent other establishments. You have a lovely day and thank you for reaching out to Shooters World.

World Class weapons shop and range! Superior service, friendly folks, and world class range.
This facility outperforms all others. I have shot all around the world. I was in the military for 26 years. I now shoot at a nice range in Oklahoma City. Not even close to " SHOOTERS WORLDS" EXTREMLY high standards.
We are relocating to "The Villages" next Spring. One of the big reasons is so I can shoot at your range every week with my 50 year old daughter.
I wish I would have noted the names of the people who helped me there but I didn't. From the RSO's to the sales folks and all in between they were exceptional and friendly.
Regarding documentation and the 2nd Amendment. I did/do not feel Shooters World was restrictive at all. To the contrary. The USA does what they do to secure our rights while giving us the ability to carry a weapon and be prepared for a possible national crisis. Just my opinion.
THANK YOU and look forward to shooting there as much as possible in the future.

Got smacked with their "annual ripoff" Shooters Card BS. But came back a few times when I was in the area with my wife, and took my one start review down. Came back yesterday, and now they require all guests to pay the $10. They charged us the $10 but did not provide the actual card, it was literally just a matter of paying them the extra $10. I never buy overpriced ammo or anything else here. All I needed to know is overhear the employees talking dirt about customers and other employees, you know the owners are in for a profit, no lube for customers, just shaft...
Good bye, I encourage people to speak up and go to another range that wont come up with ripoff schemes every 4-6 months.
Edit: in response to owner.
Dear owner, dont be full of it. I was coming to your place for a while, and your $10 fee on top of range fee started a little over a year ago. And when I went there with my wife recently, she too was charged the $10 as a guest, and your cashier told me its a recent policy put in place a few months ago. I am actually glad to find out about much better places to shoot like Wyoming Antelope Club and Gun Trader Den and a hidden gem Indoor Shooting Company, pistol cartridges only but a great older range with a peaceful environment.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information

Hello Sergiy, the annual $10.00 fee for the shooters card is not a new policy, it has been in place (and has not changed) since 2018. Our staff can check the system to confirm that our guests' shooters cards are still active. If customers do not have their card when they come, they can have a new one made for them or as in cases where they have a card but simply forgot it, they can be admitted without it. This is done as a courtesy so that customers, like your wife, can shoot even if they happen to forget their card. If your wife needed a new physical card, she could have requested one. Do reach out to us at support@shootersworld.com with any further comments, concerns, or details about the incident.
Jul 16, 2021Previous reviewBeen here plenty of times. But today they want to make me pay $10 for a card that allows me to shoot at the range. Pathetic... overpriced ammo is already too much, and now they pull these mob moves and try to rob you of $10.
Will never be back here. Plenty of other local ranges, this one happens to be next to my sons camp. - teddy p.La Mirada, CA6577May 12, 2023
Came here all the way from California and was left with memories of a lifetime! This is a premier shooting range if you wants top notch experience. The facility and store is modern and everything was well maintained.
The thing that hit it out of the park was the two range staff I interacted with: Patrick at check in and Brian, who was our range officer/firearms experience guide. Both of these fine gentlemen are such an asset to this place and made my family's experience so enjoyable. Thank you very much for an awesome day at the range!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Asked to show ID to purchase ammunition. There is no legal requirement to do so in Florida. Also, clerk at checkout had to go back behind the ammo counter 3 times until he got my request/order correct. Not the brightest people working here.
