Shoney's Restaurant

Almost every time we are in Pikeville we would go to Shoney's before heading back home, often we would be there for breakfast and lunch with just me and my mother. The waitresses that checked us in for the tables are always friendly, the waitresses that orders our foods is also very friendly and understanding. The waitresses would often come to us to make sure that everything is all well and to see if we need anything such as refills or to order something else such as either other meal or deserts.

We would often order the bar (or some say it buffet) because so that it allows us to choose what exactly we would like to eat, most of the times the foods on the bar is delicious although almost every seafood they serve on the bar isn't so delicious but maybe it's just me that I am not exactly a fan of seafood and I always love their mac 'n cheese because it is very creamy which is just the way I like my mac 'n cheese to be. I must admit that not every meats that they serve on the bar is great, although that is minor problem because they have other delicious meats to make up for it and the only thing that I dislike the most from this place is their watered down drinks but again I almost never drink when I eat so it's fine with me.

My favorite time of the day for Shoney's is the breakfast, you must go there for the breakfast because they have amazingly delicious breakfast to choose such as gravy, biscuits, bacon, sausages, pancakes, waffles, hams and more but for me they got me at gravy!

A 5 star breakfast - better than any Shoneys in Nashville! Heaps of variety and good food, and mountain hospitality from the staff. The music was not appropriate, but I am not a rock n roll fan, so that is subjective. Highly recommend the food and place regardless.

Came here tonight with my in laws and husband. We are in visiting and had a large party. First let me say, the service was FANTASTIC. They were so helpful and attentive. They didn't get overwhelmed once and made us feel very comfortable. There was a huge selection of food, all was delicious. My husband especially enjoyed the tater tot casserole. They had ALL you can eat crab legs and we did just that!! There was no shortage of crab legs! My husband is an active duty marine and from prestonsburg originally. We made a few jokes with the manager and let him know we were in town visiting. He was WONDERFUL!!! He thanked my husband for his service and brought us a big chocolate dessert. He brought another one for my husbands papaws birthday as well. He even gave us a to go box of goodies also! He was hands down the most professional, kind and respectful manager I've ever encountered. I was so pleasantly surprised. Would absolutely recommend, would and will return every time we return to Kentucky. Can not comment enough about the wonderful customer service and great food we received here at shoneys. Felt like we were in the kitchen at our mamaws house! Definitely check it out!

Visited this restaurant today and was sadly disappointed. We got the buffet. The the food was disapointing. Rolls were dry and hard. Fish dry, chicken dry. The mashed potatoes were about the best thing other than the salad bar. The area was clean and the staff were very friendly. Very poor quality food for the money. If we return, will order from the menu.
