This is a super small "local" type cafe. It reminded me of being in Ethiopia, which is good ( aka: dirty and without good a/c)
The food was ok for the most part. It was somewhat bland but they did try to make an item for my husband that was not in the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - barbara R.Seattle, WA012Nov 24, 2015
I love Ethiopian food, and I was pleased to find a restaurant not too far (in a South Dakota) sense.
First things first: the food was great. The injera was fabulous; light and fluffy and hit the right note of sour for me. Yum! The entree was good if maybe a little lighter on the spice than I prefer. Not a major thing.
My one caveat- and it is a fairly big one for me- was the atmosphere. I walked in to order some take out and the whole place went silent. It was eery. I was the only woman there. I don't know if maybe there was some kind of event going on or something but it was odd; I've never had quite that experience before.
I'll get takeout from them again. The food was really good! But honestly I'm not sure I'll eat in. We'll see how the second time goes!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 4, 2015
I wish yelp gave half stars this place would be a solid 3.5. The atmosphere is just like going to a cafe in Addis. Service was good food was fresh but not as spicy as I thought it should be for Ethiopian food the enjara was super fluffy.

Traveling in the area and randomly stumbled in here. All Ethiopians except us... It better be good. It was. Only one vegetarian platter so we got it and it was delicious. Owner was super friendly and welcoming. Music was loud and decor not existent. But, the food was great.

Amazing food, like uh-maze-ing, in a divey little house. And excellent espresso, dark and thick. The owner was really friendly and engaging too and we hung out after dinner and watched the football game with him for about a half an hour. Excellent food, fun divey ambience, and a really friendly owner. 10 out of 10 recommend

On my way to Sturgis I stopped in, parked behind. It started at the back door, junk, garbage and mess everywhere. More trash at the front door. Inside, all the furniture was mismatched and broken. Rags in the windows to fit the A/C unit in. Broken curtain rods, ripped carpet. Two smoke alarms chirping with low batteries. The bathroom was a total mess with a bucket of slop water sitting there. A handful of deadbeats watching soccer on an old 19" TV. Ordered up, owner friendly.
Then the food came. I lived in Ethiopia for a few years and ate this stuff everyday, so one could say I know a good plate when I taste one. This food was superb. Fresh, hot, spiced right, fresh baked injera, just perfect. I've been in Ethiopian places all over the USA, this is top 5.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
